X-Pro2 OVF Question

Recommended Posts

After spending a few (joyous!) hours with my X-pro2 I've encountered something confusing. Initially, when I put my 35/1.4 on the camera, the OVF showed a large set of frame lines which occupied most of the finder window. I went into the menus to customize various functions and when I returned the OVF showed a much smaller set of frame lines. I went back into the menus and consulted the manual to try and get the large bright frame back, but was clueless.

A few hours of shooing later the camera did the mysterious user settings reset (as reported by lots of other users here), and to my surprise, the original large bright frame was back in the OVF!

Can anyone give me tips on what setting controlled the size of these frame lines?

Thanks!!

Viewfinder magnification change maybe? There are 2 magnification settings (one wide, one narrow), they normally change automatically depending on the focal length of the mounted lens... but you can also change them manually.

For manual changing the magnification on the X-Pro1 flip and hold the viewfinder-level for around 2-3 seconds, I don't know about the X-Pro2 ;)

The 35mm framelines in the normal magnification setting are filling most of the viewfinder window and would be quite small in the wide setting (which is fitted to be filled by the 18mm lens).
