I really like the look of it. It's not comparable to the images from our new digital cameras regarding sharpness or color accuracy, but it reminds me of my youth.

Absolutely! Two images below, one's got sharpness and another one's got a look.

It will be interesting to see (hopefully in September) what the X-E3 will look like and how it will be equipped.

Interestingly enough, having read some of the preceding posts in this thread and learned of how forthrightly some have expressed their views, it is worth reminding people on how similarly strong views have historically been expressed, such as "it certainly won't have IBIS, tilting screen, etc, etc, etc" then they went on to be proved wrong (albeit with different cameras). I shall just wait and see.

I still hope for IBIS and a tilting screen but won't be tempted by an X-T20 any day soon as I like the look and feel of the X-E line. I love using my X-E2s and have just shot a wedding using it and my "Fujicrons". I was perfectly happy with it and hope to have a better spec X-E3 to shoot another such occassion in the near future.

So far i see consistent degradation of my ideal camera. Don't like combined iso-ss dial, don't understand and hate the idea of getting rid of popup flash as well. I use it indoors regularly and not going to attach to my camera anything but the lens.

  • 2 weeks later...

The X-E3 is still sounding like an ideal camera for me.

I hope the price doesn't change too much from the X-T20, but if it's a full featured and well developed product then $1K USD might seem reasonable.

Issues like viewfinder blackout at 8FPS turned me off of the X-T2 and X-T20, but for a more "slow paced" body the current capabilities seem more reasonable, and that's more up my alley anyway.

Can we make Dual Card Slots standard on the X platform? Please? That would go a long way toward pushing Fuji into the hands of people who might otherwise not look at the brand.

All the "big players" are still trying to segment their users with features like Dual Card Slots (especially now that we've seen Nikon REMOVE Dual Cards from the D7500).

This seems like the perfect feature to differentiate the brand.

Maybe X-A3 users wouldn't take advantage of it but I feel like all the "X-E" and "X-T" series bodies should be ready for more professional applications, let the X-Pro and X-T2 sell on their own merits without removing features that can sometimes be critical to any photographer, regardless of whether you're getting paid for the pictures.

one more newbie question (it appears to be my forum rank after all):

the XE-3 is the first Fuji X product I'll be ordering new when released. so logistically, when it's rumored that the product will be announced in September, does that announcement date mean that is when the product is available for pre-order? does "announcement" mean that it will suddenly be in stores immediately after it becomes official? or is the announcement date different from the in-stores date? thanks for clarification on this.

    • Looking more like the next Fuji camera we see will be an X-T50 but it is still a rumor and no specs have been published.
    • Hey guys, The shutter on/off button switch may be loose on mine. After turning camera on and pressing the shutter/holding close to the area, the camera will turn off and say 'sensor cleaning'. This doesn't happen if I'm shooting via touch screen at all. Everything else is functional. Anyone else experience this before? Would love a much cheaper fix since Fuji Canada just quoted me $700 CAD to fix it, and considering everything else is functional except that part I'm not even sure why MPMB Main Board parts is being replaced😕 I got no explanation from them either.
    • As far as I know the firmware is not country specific. Are you sure that the filename has not been changed ( I am told this can happen with mac os). That's the only thing I can think of.
    • My x-t5 does not exhibit the focusing switch behaviour as you report it, so that is very strange and indicative of a fault. It does not matter whether the flash is attached or not. Once you set the camera for your studio flash, say 1/250th at f5.6, the camera, which is showing you what you will get at that exposure without the flash, will show a black screen unless the ambient light is brighter than what you would typically get indoors. That is why, as Jerry says, you have to set preview exp/wb to off. I have set a button for this.
    • I connected to FRAME.IO a while back and it works fine, but the camera wouldn't connect to the internet all of a sudden today and would get stuck on the reset screen, including initializing and even switching USB Connection mode. Is anyone else experiencing the same thing?
