Last year around October I  sent my fujifilm x-pro1 for repair to install a new OVF as the previous one was not working, and my camera was returned working again.

I did not start using it again until New Year, and since then  am having a recurring problem with the camera:

I put in a fully charged battery, turn on the camera and it works fine as I can take many pictures.  I turn if off.  Wait a few seconds.  Turn it on again but this time it is frozen blank on the optical view finder and none of the controls (turn off/on, view mode etc...) can change this frozen blank state, nor can I turn off the camera.

What is happening ?    The only solution I see is taking out the battery, waiting a long while (hours/days), and put in a new battery and see if it turns on again.

Hopefully it is not a big issue, but I need to have this sorted out for me to be able to enjoy the camera as before.

SOLVED!!!

Hello everyone.

I managed to solve the freezing problem on the X-Pro1.

I went to the technical service store here in Lima, Peru and found out that the camera can also be turned on by pressing the green key, apparently it is a FUJI trick just in case the on-off button does not work.

Basically the problem was that the hardware had been updated (the new optical view finder), but the software had not been updated.  As soon as the freeware was updated, the camera was working perfectly!

fiu.........

Best regards
