Xpro3: dead submonitor

Recommended Posts

I just found out this morning that the sub monitor of my XPro3 is dead. I turned it on and off but it  still didn't work. I replaced the battery, it won't work. Has anyone got a similar problem. Please share if you know how to fix it without sending the camera out for repair. Thank you.

I’ve had the same problem about a month ago. I’m in New Zealand and bought my camera from an authorised Fujifilm retailer. It was covered with a 3 year warranty on the body that had a year remaining. There was nothing I could do to fix the fault. I sent it to Fujifilm NZ for a repair under warranty. I was without the camera for about a month whilst they were waiting for the parts to come from Japan to repair it. The whole lcd screen and door casing with sub monitor was replaced along with the flexible cable I think. They sent me a loan camera (X-T3) to use in the meantime. I’ve just got my repaired Pro-3 back. I read online that if the sub monitor dies then the big lcd screen will eventually follow suit and die too. I think the flexible cable is the weak point and starts developing cracks with repeated  flexing on opening and closing the screen. I hope that it lasts for the life of the camera now but I can see how this flexible cable is a potential problem waiting to happen again.

    • Because the sensor assembly is moved electrmagnetically. When there is no power it is essentially free moving.

This is the equivalent of 43 minutes, 40 seconds of exposure. NGC 1502 is a neat little cluster located in the Camelopardalis Constellation. This region of space was thought to be fairly empty by early astronomers, but as you can see, there is a lot there. Kemble's Cascade (a.k.a. Kemble 1) is named for Father Lucian Kemble, a Canadian Franciscan friar who wrote about it to Walter Scott Houston, an author for the Sky And Telescope magazine. Houston named the asterism for Fr. Kemble and the name "stuck". NGC 1501 is the Oyster Nebula. A longer focal length telescope is needed to bring this one into good viewing range, but it is well worth the effort. • Looking for input; there are some decent deals and might want to take advantage to expand my lenses for my 100s already own: 110/2 32-64 35-70 100-200 + TC   Shooting mostly family shots, bringing my kit to capture family outings indoors and out. Tracking the 63/43 effective FLs on the two, but has anybody used both? Would the 55 (covered by two zooms right now) be redundant? Would the 80 be too similar in character to my 110 for portraiture?
