Fujifilm X100V as "digital Film Point & Shoot replacement"

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

first of all "hello" - this is my first post here on the forum, I hope you all are doing great.

I just received my Fujifilm X100V two days ago and I'm setting everything up to my needs. I ordered the Fuji because I want to have like a digital camera that I can shoot like a Film point & shoot like a Contax T2 (38mm f2.8) or a Yashica T4 (35mm f3.5). One of the most important things for this is the built-in flash which I kinda adore on Film cameras and it can give that "snapshot vibe" I know from images from the 80s of my parents.

The flash of the X100V seems even stronger than the one from the Contax T2:
Contax: "The compact camera comes equipped with a flash range of 0.7- 3m. This allows you to take great shots in low-light conditions as well as in total darkness."
Fuji: "Effective range: (ISO 1600) approx. 30cm - 7.4m/1.0ft. - 24.3ft."

So, does anyone has experiences with the flash of the Fuji or even better some useful tips? I have to admit that I didn't shoot flash like ever, so, I would be happy for any sort of guide.

Here are some examples I would like to achieve with the Fuji:
