Possible shutter button issue X100T

Recommended Posts

I bought an X100T about 11 months ago and love the camera. I brought it with me on vacation this week and was showing it to my uncle and noticed the half-press of the shutter button was no longer working. No focus confirmation beep or green box. I've switched the the AF mode between AF-S, AF-C, and AF-M a few times. When on AF-M, the back focus continued to work so I don't think the issue is with the AF itself. I switched back to AF-S and it seems to focus prior to taking the photo with full shutter press, but not with the half press. I looked through the menus, but didn't see anything that would cause this. I did a complete reset of the camera and even updated the firmware. It now seems to work sporadically. Is this a malfunction of the shutter button? Has anyone else had this experience? I thought I'd check here prior to sending the camera in for repair.

Hello Guys !

I have an x100T too and have the same issue as you. Bought mine 3 years ago.

The half-press of the shutter isn't working anymore, did you found any explaination or how to fixe it ?

Cheers from France.

Hi Binary, Sorry for the late reply. I had to send the camera in to Fujifilm for repair twice. The first time they could not replicate the problem so they cleaned the camera and sent it back. It worked for a few minutes and the issue occurred again so I took video of it and called support who asked me to also send them the video along with the camera. I believe it was the top plate they replaced, but don't recall. The camera has since worked fine.

    • Because the sensor assembly is moved electrmagnetically. When there is no power it is essentially free moving.
    • Hi everyone I have a problem while using my xpro3 and strobes, from a day to an other I started to have a black shade on the side of my ID photos so it's kind of problematic. It's like if the speed is to high except it happened even at 1/30s. And the shutter speed seems accurate with ambiant light so I'm a bit disturbed about all of this.   Anyone has an idea about that case ?

This is the equivalent of 43 minutes, 40 seconds of exposure. NGC 1502 is a neat little cluster located in the Camelopardalis Constellation. This region of space was thought to be fairly empty by early astronomers, but as you can see, there is a lot there. Kemble's Cascade (a.k.a. Kemble 1) is named for Father Lucian Kemble, a Canadian Franciscan friar who wrote about it to Walter Scott Houston, an author for the Sky And Telescope magazine. Houston named the asterism for Fr. Kemble and the name "stuck". NGC 1501 is the Oyster Nebula. A longer focal length telescope is needed to bring this one into good viewing range, but it is well worth the effort. • Looking for input; there are some decent deals and might want to take advantage to expand my lenses for my 100s already own: 110/2 32-64 35-70 100-200 + TC   Shooting mostly family shots, bringing my kit to capture family outings indoors and out. Tracking the 63/43 effective FLs on the two, but has anybody used both? Would the 55 (covered by two zooms right now) be redundant? Would the 80 be too similar in character to my 110 for portraiture?
