Fuji X-T3 10 bit HEVC looking terrible in Premiere Pro ... any suggestions?

Greetings, Fuji friends! I'm having a conundrum. I have a slew of footage from an X-T3 I'm assembling in Premiere Pro. Footage specs:

- 30 and 60 fps 4K

-10 bit (internal) 8:2:0

-H265

-HEVC

-All shot in F-log

All of the unedited shots look great (for F-log, that is) in iMovie and QuickTime. When I ingest them into Premiere Pro, however, there's a bizarre pixelated swath of green and pink in the lowlights. No amount of color correction can solve it, and Davinci Resolve is no better. I have tried changing sequence settings, converting to Pro Res, and attempted many different encoding formats in Media Encoder with limited to no success.

Has anyone ever faced this issue? Adobe support is stumped. Any assistance you can provide is greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

Hello:

Some questions for you:

1) How are you exposing your Flog footage, e.g. ETTR.  By how much?

2) Are you applying a camera LUT?

3) What happens when you shoot Eterna without any log profile.

4) What happens when you shoot HLG?

Don

BTW.  When I shoot Flog with my X-T3 I get some weird magenta issues on blue sky.  Consequently, I never use Flog and instead use HLG which does not have the problem.

    • Is it possible to switch from manual focus to AFC while recording movies (without stopping recording). I could do this on the XT-4 but can't find a way on the H2S.    Thank you
    • If it may be a little cheaper I would recommend the KIPON Tilt & Shift Adapter for Fujifilm X-Mount. It is available for about 300 euros to buy. Then you only need one lens for FX sensors. You can then waste the remaining 14300 euros on something else...
    • The only ways I can get the camera to show the "storing" message while it writes is to set either Clarity or HDR - neither of which can be selected in full auto mode. Even a very slow card does not show that message. I'm out of ideas. Perhaps you could post a link to a file when this occurs (straight out of camera) so that we can see all of your settings.
    • Welcome to our forum. I've copied your corrected post into the opening comment.
    • Maybe it will be more useful for Fujifilm to provide us (GFX users) with a  suitable tilt and shit wide angle lens  which is badly needed for architectural and landscape photography. I had spent over 15,000 Eur  in the system back in 2019 and that includes only the GFX 50s  as a camera body.. The rest of the money was spent on lenses, handgrip and tilting viewfinder which  has just stopped working..  It is only fair that Fuji take care of its clients especially after making a decision to switch camera systems from one brand to another. I have been taking my aging 50 s  even to cover yacht racing, although the focus system and frame progression is a huge disssappointment to say the least. as it takes a huge amount of time. I am a semi-professional and not a full time photographer, mostly engaged in art exhibitions and investment (especially at this day and age)  requires sacrifice... I expect that the system is given proper attention, now that it has lured users and clients to it! I am at the point of buying a second body, a decision which I m still considering or changing back again to full frame... as since then both canon and nikon have come up with workable solutions...
