Fujinon vs. Canon

Thought I'd do a comparison between the two portrait lenses.

These pics aren't meant to be technical. I just wanted to see the difference in bokeh.

Note - Slight back focus on the Canon EF and background light was accidentally turned on the Fujifilm causing a slight shift in wb. (My apologies)

EF85@F1.2, 1/125s, ISO200, 5D3 and the other XF56@F1.2, 1/125s, ISO200, X-Pro1

Hmmm. I'm guessing the Fuji is on the right due to longer dof and correct wb? It's a gray stuffed animal not pinkish. Right?

If you want to compare bokeh, set the canon to the same dof. Which would be f1.8. I don't think the canon back focusing as much as the dof is much shallower. Compare the flowers on the stool in front and behind the plane of focus. More apparent on left side; look at the two green flowers and the in between. I assume it's on the stuffed animal's eyes.

I'll certainly give it a try. The stuffed animal belonged to my niece and is well "used". Originally it had a grey/pink body and peach/skin rest of body. I didn't want to alter the jpeg and shot on auto. Tripod is at same position.

Yes, it was focused on the eye. Somehow this copy of 85 don't play well on the 5D3 as it does on the 5Dc. All other lenses I have worked almost identically on the 2 bodies. Sent back to Canon for checks and calibration but same results.
