X-T30 v1.40 'web cam' problems

Hi all

I updated my x-t30 with the latest 1.40 firmware and connected it to my Win 10 PC.  Running X-Webcam, the camera is recognised ok. If I take a still shot the image is downloaded to a 'still' folder. Great! But I can't get an actual live image on the screen with the Windows Camera app. It refuses to recognise that I have a camera connected :(. As far as I can make out all the permissions are set ok. If I connect an actual Web Cam then that works fine in the Camera App. I'm obviously missing something with the Fuji? I have it set to X-Webcam in the Connections menu. Any ideas / suggestions?

Thanks

Louise

i think you posted this in the wrong section , please post it in fujifilm xt-30 section . also many others reported the same issue with fujifilm xt-30 . not working as a webcam even after version 1.40 update , i haven't heard anyone found a solution yet ,or haven't heard from fujifilm team (like a tutorial video on how to use fujifilm xt-30 and other cameras which got similar firmware update recently as a webcam) . so if i found any solution or if i hear from any sources on possible way to make it work ,i'll surely let you know . i hope this helps . have a nice day ahead to you !.

    • No, it doesn't work if you have pulled the ring to manual. The 14mm is a sharp lens by the way. You won't be disappointed.
    • Don't worry about the shutter count. If it's working OK just use it. It's very unlikely that the shutter is worn out. I believe that 150000 actuations has been quoted for the X-T3, but that from memory. It's going to be at least 100000 though.
    • I forgot to mention. To see the images correctly on the camera you can check some settings. Make sure that evf and lcd color are set to 0. Likewise lcd color adjustment (you can tweak these later if necessary). More importantly make sure 'natural live view' is off. These are located in the 'spanner' section under 'screen setting'.
    • Can you describe the difference for us? What software are you using to view them on your computer? Do they look, the same on another computer and monitor or on a tablet or phone? Is your monitor calibrated? Most monitors that are not specifically made for photography are too blue and too bright out of the box. If you don't have a colorimeter, and your Images look OK on other devices, you can try adjusting the monitor using its controls.
    • Last summer I sold my whole Canon setup (5D mkiii, 35mm, and 85mm). I actually adored the setup I had, but the weight really bothered my body. I was very excited about the mirrorless cameras and their light weight. I went to my local camera shop and they talked me into buying the Fuji X-T3. I was a little nervous about it not being full-frame, but the shop assured me it could perform on a professional level. My first lens for the camera was the fujinon 23mm 1.4. I've been using it for portrait sessions (families, seniors, etc), and it's just not performing anywhere close to how my Canon setup performed. When I zoom in on the images, they are just not clear and crisp! Part of what I love to offer my clients is the ability to print their images bigger for wall art, etc. I don't feel like I can recommend they do that anymore. Do y'all think I need to go back to a full-frame camera? Or am I just doing something wrong with the X-T3? Thanks!
