WiFi and Bluetooth connections

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone.

I must admit to being fairly new to Fuji. I have been using Olympus for a while but my Pen F has a problem so just before sending it to sick bay I bought a XF10 which is okay. I have been keeping an eye out for news of an XE4 as I might switch over to Fuji, for the larger sensor but do I really need to? The thing that might swing it either way is the dreadful Fujifilm app. I am pretty good when it comes to tech stuff but the app is useless. For starters, there are two menu sets in the settings for wireless comms. One of which just seems to turn on the wifi on the camera. I confused the issue somewhat by pairing both my iphone and my ipad to the camera. However, the app does not seem to be able to control or differentiate between Bluetooth or WiFi connections and there is no way on the app or the phone to control either. Is this just me or does anyone know how to make the app work?

The Fuji App is a constant source of frustration. I've given up using it even though is was improved a while ago. The book that @Olaf W.  recommended is the best chance of getting it to work.

The best I have managed with the Fuji app is a connection with Bluetooth with my XT30 and android phone but even that intermittent, tried it with my x100v and complete failure. The app sadly is not fit for purpose and Fuji need to axe it or give it to someone who can do it really well like Sony. It really is not acceptable in these days of connectivity but this is one of the cons of Fuji ownership. I carry a USB cable now when travelling and connect to my phone that way to transfer files.

    • Welcome to our forum!
    • Hi Chris, I've had the same experience with my 15mm 4.5f Voigtlander. VERY soft images outside the center, moved on to the Fujinon 18mm 2f and perfectly happy. Cheers,
    • mornin' every one,  New to the forum and the X system. Camera collector since the '90s. I've been swapping old "analogic" stuff for "old" digital stuff. So I ended up with a X-T1 and a X-Pro1, with 27mm and 18mm (small ) and a few adapters to play with the Legacy lenses. Still adapting to the mirrorless ecosystem 😞 Meh...!
    • I am thinking of adapting my sigma 17-50 f2.8 canon ef-s lens on Fuji xt3 via a viltrox speed booster. My biggest confusion is that will this effect focal length and light gathering of my lens?  An speed booster does so when adapting full frame lens on APS-C bodies. But what if I want to adapt an APS-C Lens on another APS-C body via an speed booster?
    • Hi Jozzef, same with my one. The pictures at 16mm are not as sharp, as they should be. I given the lens back. Others say it is a good universal lens. Maybe some has problems from production side?
