USB charging with X-T3 firmware v4.00

Since the v4.00 update, my X-T3 no longer charges when plugged into a power supply via USB (USB-C PD power supply). No green light on the back. When the camera power is on, it shows the icon for external power on the display. Is that different from anyone else's observed behavior? I didn't see a setting that would affect it.

I noticed that my camera does properly charge from a battery pack with usb-c output. So it must have something to do with the power supply characteristics. I’ll have to try a few things to see what causes the issue.

Good Morning,  I have the same issue using the Apple USB-C adapter.  Other USB-C adapters work to charge, but these adapters output at a lower voltage than the Apple charger.  Any updates?  I use the camera plugged into power most of the time (Live streaming, etc).  Thanks in advance!

i think it might be fixed in the next firmware update ,as far as i understood from what you were saying . it's a communication issue between the charger and camera (usb c-pd tech chargers communicate with device to know the required charge etc... that's how it's able to charge various devices with different voltage specifications ,it's a smart charger basically . so this issue is related to software and i hope it will be fixed in the next firmware update . more people report this issue ,the faster it get's fixed ,because fujifilm needs feedback . so keep sending feedback and report this in other forums too ,so it will get noticed faster and it will be fixed faster. since it affects all apple chargers compatibility with xt-3 with new firmware . i wish you good luck in getting the new update which fix this ASAP , have a nice day . if i get something ,i'll inform you soon !

it maybe the software issue on the apple's part , since other devices which use to work with apple chargers is not working now check this article (the article says that apple updated their pd chip firmware ,which led to compatibility issue with devices where it's used or connected to).  i hope this helps . have a nice day !

Thank you for the response and explanation, really appreciate it.  Here's hoping the next firmware update addresses this issue.  One positive: I think power is still being delivered while I'm Livestreaming, the battery doesn't seem to discharge while plugged in and in use.  It just doesn't charge when the camera is switched off.  Hope that makes sense.

Again, thank you for taking the time to reply.  Cheers!

Stay happy always ! . Also try usb-pd Powerbanks ,it might work flawlessly to charge while the camera is switched off , until this issue is solved in the next firmware update . have a nice day !

    • Looking more like the next Fuji camera we see will be an X-T50 but it is still a rumor and no specs have been published.
    • Hey guys, The shutter on/off button switch may be loose on mine. After turning camera on and pressing the shutter/holding close to the area, the camera will turn off and say 'sensor cleaning'. This doesn't happen if I'm shooting via touch screen at all. Everything else is functional. Anyone else experience this before? Would love a much cheaper fix since Fuji Canada just quoted me $700 CAD to fix it, and considering everything else is functional except that part I'm not even sure why MPMB Main Board parts is being replaced😕 I got no explanation from them either.
    • As far as I know the firmware is not country specific. Are you sure that the filename has not been changed ( I am told this can happen with mac os). That's the only thing I can think of.
    • My x-t5 does not exhibit the focusing switch behaviour as you report it, so that is very strange and indicative of a fault. It does not matter whether the flash is attached or not. Once you set the camera for your studio flash, say 1/250th at f5.6, the camera, which is showing you what you will get at that exposure without the flash, will show a black screen unless the ambient light is brighter than what you would typically get indoors. That is why, as Jerry says, you have to set preview exp/wb to off. I have set a button for this.
    • I connected to FRAME.IO a while back and it works fine, but the camera wouldn't connect to the internet all of a sudden today and would get stuck on the reset screen, including initializing and even switching USB Connection mode. Is anyone else experiencing the same thing?
