Introduce Yourself

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I am Fabrizio, I have been shooting with a Sony NEX since 2012 (and, before that, I have been a Contax photographer for a long time).

In November a friend lent me a X-E1 for a few hours and... I suddenly decided to go "The Fuji Way"!

Now I own an X-T10 and 18-55 2.8-4.0 lens, beautiful kit indeed... and my NEX is on sale ;^)

Hi everyone.  I'm Marte

I've been shooting with Nikons for many years and recently purchased a Fuji XT1.  So far I like it and find that I shoot very differently than I do with my Nikon D600.  I love the fact that you can pull the LCD screen out and shoot very low.  I love that low angle, kind of like a twin- lens reflex or a Hasselblad. Since I got it I find myself shooting people and motion.

I'm looking forward to learning from everyone and look forward to hearing from others with this camera.

New here,

But familiar wit the XX since about 2013.

Am Dutch, live in the center of an old town near the river rhine.

Use X-100, X-10 and an X-M1.

Besides that an under water Nik....( you know,... an other brand) and two Olympus Pen from the 60's last century.Halfframe cameras.

I use my cameras to document daily live. No specific subjects or whatsoever. I look around and simply use one of my cams that is present or close.

Hello, I'm coco and i recently owned a x-e1 but swapped it for the x-t10 with the kit lenses 16-50 and 50-230 both xc. I'm graciously giving them to my boyfriend but with the side note to be able to use the 50-230.

I have only two prime: xf 14mm f2.8 and xf 35mm f1.4.

I photograph as a hobby and should be really picking it up way more. Hope my X-T10 is going to give me the joy of that.

Hello,

I'm Francesco from Italy.

I switched from Canon gear to Fuji X-E2 + 18-55 + 35 1.4. I regret full frame, but love the lenses, the weight and the autofocus: ok, sometimes the AF could be faster, but the focus is always where I want, I forgot micro adjustments!

Greetings!

I'm from Finland, and made my transition to Fujifilm last Christmas as I got a XT-1 with 18-55mm zoom and Nissin 40 flash.

I've been taking pictures since 1970 or so though, when I was just a small cub.

In 2006 or so I got my first DSLR, Canon EOS D60 and in time also EOS 5D with an extensive collection of lenses as well. I sold almost all last New Year though, in order to get some more Fuji stuff, so now I have Samyang 12mm, Fujinon 55-200mm along with Tamron Adaptall 2 300mm with an adapter and a truly radiant :D lens, SMC Takumar 55mm f1.7, also with an adapter.
I still have my old D60 along with Tamron 28-75mm but it doesn't get much use. There's also four film cameras in my closet, Ricoh XR-1, Canon EOS 300, EOS 50 and EOS 5.

Oh my first Fujifilm was actually Finepix F20, back in I don't remember when. I still have F70 and keep that along when I'm at work.

Mostly I do travel photography and landscapes, sometimes architecture and even people, even though I'm not that interested in people, really. As I carry a camera with me almost all the time I also photograph interesting occurences and funny-looking situations and stuff like that.

Have used a lot of systems over the years, but just got into Fuji. Wasn't planning on it, but was offered a X-T1 in a trade on a macro lens for Nikon and took it.

Liking things so far, but don't have any native lenses yet. Contemplating trying to trade a Leica Summarit 75mm f/2.4 for some native lenses, but the lens performs great - although slower then AF.

The latest are shot with the X-T1 and either Voigtlander 28mm (nikon mount, nikon to leica m adapter + m to fuji adapter) or the Leica Summilux 50mm - the EXIF says 40mm but I forgot to change the setting.

Looking forward to this community,

Kevin

Hi there Everyone.

I am 51 years old. I have been many things to different people over the years.

As a teenager I started out with the beautiful Olympus OM series SLR's. Moved on to a whole host of dependable and robust Nikon offerings and used them extensively for 30 years before I joined the Fuji bouquet of glass about a year ago. Currently I'm enjoying my X-PRO 1 and the 5 prime lenses I currently have.

Hi all!

I've done a brief introduction when I found myself posting on another thread but thought I'd come here to introduce myself too. I'm Matt and I'm a wedding photographer professionally and a street photographer in my free time (basically any hour I have to spare...)

I came to photography about 10 years ago with a Sony Alpha 200, which was ok and I thought it was great at the time. Moved over to a Canon 7D, then also acquired a 1D mk II, before making the big 5D mk III purchase. I love the 5D mk III but honestly never thought of it as anything other than the 'power tool' equivalent of a camera; reliable, dependable, and there to get the job done. I heard Kevin Mullins speak at The Photography Show in 2015 and became increasingly interested in the Fuji system, and bought myself an XT1 last Summer.

Since then, I've been hooked. I must confess that I wasn't hugely sold on the 18-55mm 2.8-4 but that drove my towards primes, which I'm very happy about because I'm now the proud owner of a 23mm 1.4 and 56mm 1.2. Occasionally I wish I could go wider (and will probably end up getting the 14mm, but aside from that I really don't feel like I need anything else from my lenses. I purchased an X Pro 2 a couple of weeks ago, which I love.

So, long story short, I used the word 'love' in my last paragraph and honestly that's what I felt like I was missing with Canon; killer cameras, but I didn't get the same sense of artistry and passion from using them.

Bye bye power tools, hello paint brush.

Hello,

My name is Paul. I started off in photography about 12 years ago with a simple entry level Pentax SLR. I bought the Sony a100 right when it came out and have been shooting Sony ever since. Right up to about two weeks ago...

For the past two years I have been shooting with a Sony A7 and some native lenses. I wanted another camera to play with and have been hearing good things about Fuji. So I picked up the X-T10 with the 56mm, 16mm, 35f2. I loved it right away and like Chudlyfudly above, it felt more like an artistic tool than a power tool. I hastily sold all my Sony gear and bought a X-Pro2 with a couple more lenses. Now I love the Pro 2 so much my brand new X-T10 just sits there. But I mainly got a second camera for weddings, so it will get used a couple times a year. I only miss the Dynamic Range from my A7. Otherwise I like everything else more, when it comes to the Fuji System. I even like the 6400 ISO better, which sounds crazy but I swear it looks better.

Photography is my hobby that I get paid to do a couple times a year. I pretty much only do weddings, engagement photos, and senior portraits. Besides that I take thousands of pics of my kids and everything else I can.

    • Looking more like the next Fuji camera we see will be an X-T50 but it is still a rumor and no specs have been published.
    • Hey guys, The shutter on/off button switch may be loose on mine. After turning camera on and pressing the shutter/holding close to the area, the camera will turn off and say 'sensor cleaning'. This doesn't happen if I'm shooting via touch screen at all. Everything else is functional. Anyone else experience this before? Would love a much cheaper fix since Fuji Canada just quoted me $700 CAD to fix it, and considering everything else is functional except that part I'm not even sure why MPMB Main Board parts is being replaced😕 I got no explanation from them either.
    • As far as I know the firmware is not country specific. Are you sure that the filename has not been changed ( I am told this can happen with mac os). That's the only thing I can think of.
    • My x-t5 does not exhibit the focusing switch behaviour as you report it, so that is very strange and indicative of a fault. It does not matter whether the flash is attached or not. Once you set the camera for your studio flash, say 1/250th at f5.6, the camera, which is showing you what you will get at that exposure without the flash, will show a black screen unless the ambient light is brighter than what you would typically get indoors. That is why, as Jerry says, you have to set preview exp/wb to off. I have set a button for this.
    • I connected to FRAME.IO a while back and it works fine, but the camera wouldn't connect to the internet all of a sudden today and would get stuck on the reset screen, including initializing and even switching USB Connection mode. Is anyone else experiencing the same thing?
