AF illuminator not working?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I just got myself a X-T3.
Today I was shooting with flash and I was in need to get the AF illuminator on.
Went on AF/MF menu, AF ILLUMINATOR ON, but doesn't do anything.
I did dome research and someone suggests that Silent Mode could be on but I cannot find that mode in my XT3, (nor in my X-T20, actually).
What else should I check?

Many thanks.

No, the flash doesn't have an AF illuminator, I asked someone to use their phone to light the subject for focus.
The LED LIGHT SETTINGS is greyed out, both in my X-T3 and X-T20.

There must be a setting I am unable to spot, I've spent two hours yesterday, going through manuals and web search, I am sure it will such an easy thing once I find it...

[Edit]

After some communication with Fuji assistance, bless them, a reset did the trick.
A couple of things to note:
The illuminator has a sensor and it will turn the LED on if there is not enough natural light.
The illuminator works only in autofocus S, there is not the possibility to have it on when focussing in manual.
