X100V - Weather Sealed? Dust in viewfinder already.

Recommended Posts

The x100V advertises itself as weather sealed, but I got a large speck of dust in the optical viewfinder after the second time of using it. This makes me question it's weather seal capability.

At this rate, it will more likely to get more dust in there. Would Fujifilm cover cleaning out the dust under the general warranty (USA based) ? So I could have it cleaned before the 1 year manufacturer warranty is over.

I'd definitely send it back as a warranty case .... and don't waist time! Seems together with the other issues the X-100V was not ripe to be released at all!

A YouTuber suggested covering the two small microphone holes in front of flash shoe with tape.  He was concerned about dust getting on the sensor.

That’s something I am going to do now on my “F” as well. Thanks for the tip!

Hello to everyone. I'm travelling to Amazonas (in Ecuador) in a month and I'd like to know if anyone have been in such situation with the x100v. I mean: in Amazonas there is very high humidity % and even though the camera is "sealed", I'm afraid, because we're talking about an "extreme" situation. Thanks in advance.
