  1. Wouldn't it be nice? And maybe some better lens (sharper at f/2 in close distances), better video with focus peaking, headphone socket... What's your take? The Ultimate X100! For everything but work the x100's are a constant wedding vows renewal, I'm constantly renewing ours.!
  2. It took me some time for to find out my way regarding exposition / photometry with the X100F for street photography. I wanted to share ! https://blog.laurencebichon.com/simple-way-expose-street-x100f/ Laurence
  3. Hello Everyone, I’m trying to use the FujiFilm phone app: CAM REMOTE with my X100F and while it works well for taking pictures, I am having difficulty with using it for video, which I would really like to do. While I can do a single focus, when taking pictures, by tapping the screen where I would like to focus, then taking the picture, this does not work in the video mode. In video mode, it seems the only option is for a continuous focus mode where it is always searching for focus — seems like it is looking for movement and focusing on that. Is there are a way to change it so that I can tap on my phone screen and set a single focus point and NOT have it continuously searching for focus (it makes quite a bit of noise). Any other apps (for iPhone or Mac) or advice on recording video (being able to control focus and start a video) remotely using the x100f, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone!
  4. Just received my X100F few days ago and currently doing some testings and comparisons to X-Pro2. X100F's EVF is bigger(higher magnification) and I like it better than one in X-Pro2. However, while shooting in dim light I noticed that EVF has these horizontal lines. That are barely visible, and I could only see them in certain situations(mainly gradients) prominently at the bottom of the EVF. It's kind of hard to explain what they look like, but I'd describe them as line os pixels of different brightness. Try scrolling through some photos in EVF and let me know of you see them or just point your camera on solid-coloured wall. Found a similar issue HERE. P.S. I might sound very nitpicky, but these things don't really bother me. I just want to know if I'm the only one seeing them.
  5. Right now, there's no way to set the digital teleconverter when you're in MF mode, without diving deep into the menus. In AF mode you can set it to the control ring, but of course that's not available in MF mode, and currently you can't set it to a function button for quick access. I actually really like the digital teleconverter, and since I usually shot in Medium size mode, I don't get as much image degradation since it crops and then doesn't need to upscale as much, if at all. I'm in MF with back-button focus most of the time, since focusing is quicker and in AF/Av mode the aperture release is super annoyingly slow and flickers the LCD/EVF screen. So, this post is mostly to get this on Fuji's radar, unless someone actually has found a way to do this. I gather they monitor this at least to some extent, and I'm sure this is an easy firmware addition if they choose.
  6. Coming from the Ricoh world where zone focusing is completely another story thanks to the snap mode, I had to dig into the manual and all the options of the X100F in order to become friend with it. I wanted to share ! https://blog.laurencebichon.com/zone-focus-with-the-fuji-x100f/ Laurence
  7. Hey guys, I've read on facebook about this issue and tested it on my x100f and boy.. The left side of the screen (especially upper corner) is very lose if I slightly press/touch the display. It also makes crackling sound, it seems to not be glued very well.. So I just wanted to ask you if you also noticed the squishy corners of your x100f display? I'm sending it back to amazon and waiting for a replacement. Sadly, the camera is sold out in Germany :/ And since it's a wide spreaded problem, I guess it won't become better with a new one.

  9. Hi All, Does the digital teleconverter on the X100F work with the OVF engaged (or only with the EVF active?) AND does it change the view to show 50mm and 70mm? Thanks, Darren
  10. I have my X100F and I want to directly import the image (RAF format) using CaptureOne12 Express Fuji directly from the camera using USB cable. I mean, without having to take out the SD card from the camera. Currently only MacOSX Photo app that can directly detect the camera, but it cannot detect RAW format. Is that possible? If so what's the way to do it?
  11. A series of street photography taken in Hong Kong from 2017 to 2020 with X100F. There will be 11 videos in total. The first one is about light and shadow.
  12. Hi Guys, Any luck with this software using an X100F? If so please share the procedures. I'm using windows 10/ direct cable to the computer (no hubs in beetween). The green led in the back of the camera just blinks after I switched it on with the cable pluged in to the PC. Thanks in advance,
  13. SOLVED: I feel like a silly goose but I'll leave this here for anybody who finds this helpful. Originally posted this query because what I saw through the optical viewfinder was LARGER than the picture that is actually taken. This is just how the OVF in this camera works: it's bigger than what's actually seen by its lens. Never personally encountered this before in a camera. No, you cannot disable this behavior. Original post: Hi all, I'm new to this forum and just purchased a used X100F (an upgrade for me... I've spent time behind a Nikon film camera and an older model of Fujifilm X. I spend most of my time taking pictures of flowers). I've been struggling with one particular feature, not knowing how to disable it, not knowing what it's called in the menu system: When I look through the OVF and press shutter lightly to autofocus, sometimes the frame lines contract pretty small. It's like there's a "smart auto-crop" deciding how to frame my photo. But I want to be able to decide that for myself. This only happens when my eye is to the OVF; it doesn't happen on the LCD screen. Can I turn this feature off? Or is this permanent, in OVF? Or is my camera malfunctioning? (bought it used...dual viewfinder is out-of-order, for one) More context: I am not using a teleconverter. I'm not using zoom. I've been perusing reviews, forums, the user manual... nothing sounds like what I'm describing. Does anyone know what this is called and whether I can disable this feature? Thank you in advance!

  15. I've been trying to save 2 different colour presets onto my X100f. I've been inputting the presets for a HP5 acros look, and a kodachrome look based off classic chrome. I go into the Q menu, create the look on a custom setting, so for example the Hp5 look on C1. I then make the Kodachrome look on C2. The C1 Hp5 look is then deleted. What am I doing wrong? How do I save multiple colour profiles at the same time?
  16. Hello, I have a 2 year old X100F that has a problem with the aperture blades being stuck. It appears to be suck at about f2.8-4. I bought the camera new in the US about 2 years ago, I currently live in Asia and need advice on having it repaired. I contacted the place of purchase but they can't help because its beyond warranty. I contacted the Fujifilm repair USA office but they told me to contact the Fujifilm Malaysia office. Fuji Malaysia said the US office is wrong that I should contact an office closer to my area. They did however suggest resetting the camera preferences but this was no help. My last resort is to contact the Fujifilm Japan office but it is closed indefinitely due to quarantine. So my only solution may be to try and fix it myself. Has anyone here experienced their aperture blades stuck in their X100F? Has anyone been able to take the camera apart and fix it themselves? I'm extremely disappointed with Fuji and that this happened in less than 2 years of owning this camera and now no reasonable solution to fix it. I've also read that the repair for this problem is quite expensive. It would be nice to know if anyone has had similar issues and any luck with repairs. Until now I loved Fuji and this camera however I can't be more disappointed. Thanks
  17. I understand that face detection disables photometry. But I notice some undocumented inconsistencies when face-detection is selected, depending on OVF/EVF selection: With EVF, the metering icon in the viewfinder displays the appropriate face-detection/eye-detection icon. Photometry choice is disabled. So far so good. With OVF on / dual EVF off, the metering icon in the viewfinder keeps displaying the underlying selected photometry icon (although photometry selection is disabled). This is wrong and confusing. With OVF on / dual EVF on, the metering icon also keeps displaying the photometry choice, but it is yellow-colored (undocumented). In addition, a function key assigned to photometry appears to be active, you can choose a photometry mode and the choice is regularly reflected in the viewfinder. Again utterly misleading. Can somebody explain?
  18. Hello everyone, First post on this forum so let me introduce myself : Nicolas, fuji x100 user when this camera was released, sold it and regret it, fuji x100f user for a month. I would like to report an odd behavior which is supposed to be fixed in the latest firmware as per Fuji detailed report here https://www.fujifilm.com/support/digital_cameras/software/firmware/x/x100f/history.html 0/ my fuji X100F is running the latest firmware (2.11) 1/ In manual focus mode: 2/ Whether: I use the AEL/AFL button to acquire focus Or use the front ring to manually focus (the area in focus is highlighted with the focus peak option so I know precisely what is in focus) 3/ AND focusing at short distance (less than 50 cm) 4/ AND using any aperture smaller than f/2.0 (the smallest the aperture, the biggest lens moves: see point 5/ below) 5/ When I press the shutter button, the lens slightly moves (obvious move) before the picture is acquired, thus ruining what is in focus. I have repeated the same process in AF/S and everything works fine. Anyone experienced this behavior? Do you know if the fuji website has a link to submit incident request? Thanks for reading ! Nicolas
  19. Hey everyone! I´m contemplating between the X-100F and the X-T30, I know they´re very different.. But if a new X100 will come out soon it would definitely weight towards it. Has anyone heard of an upcoming X100 model? its been a few years already since the F model !!
  20. Hi, Today, my first X100F video was published on YouTube. All my videos during the year I shoot with my best and excellent video camera: Fujifilm X100F. Subscribe to my channel today! PS. Tips and good advice from all of you will be taken with gratitude! https://youtu.be/0MOkBXl5FU4

  22. Hi all, First post here. Hope some Fuji users can help - any questions answered will be helpful - thanks in advance. I currently shoot with a Nikon D90 and 50mm prime for street photography. I really want to switch to Fuji. I went to check out the Fuji range and was initially considering the X-T20, X-T2, X-Pro 2. (All with 35mm F2) After putting the EVF to my eyes for a minute I felt kind of sea sick, Ive never looked through an EVF before. So I am left with OVF as the only option. This leaves the X100F and X-Pro 2 as my only options. 1) I wear glasses - and found the viewfinder very small on the X-Pro 2, the OVF is also quite unusual to use. Does anyone else find it difficult to use (glasses wearers?) Is parallax an issue here? 2) I see the X100F OVF seems much bigger and clearer, do users find this? 3) Im concerned to buy an X100F as the fixed lens may be restrictive - I know it has crop modes, does the OVF adjust to the crop mode selected - or only the frame lines? 4) Should I wait for X-Pro 3 before buying X-Pro 2? (either because X-Pro 2 prices may drop, or because they may improve the OVF on X-Pro 3?) 5) I know they are different cameras - but would you get an X-Pro 2 over an X100F? I like the X-Pro 2 more aesthetically (doesn't mean its better in practice) Thanks, Darren
  23. Hello all, I am unable to connect my X100F to my Android phone. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app many times. I reset the connection settings on camera. Still I am unable to connect. Can anyone help please.
  24. Mabuhay! Most of my photo journey is from Pentax DSLRs from K-x, K-30, K-5iis and their Limited lens lineup 15/4, 21/3.2 my fave!, 40/2.8, 35M/2.8, 70/2.4, 100M/2.8 and even the 20-40 2.8-4 WR (~10 years, shooting general photography and sometimes paid gigs like, weddings and events) while they produce excellent image quality (especially colors and DR) I began to feel the limitations when it comes to the AF department. Fast forward, I too was smitten by the mirrorless bandwagon, I tried Canon EOS M for a very short while, while my M50/M6 provided me with small footprint and better AF speed and accuracy, I felt shortchanged when it comes to IQ, When my last DSLR conked out, slowly dispatched my lens collection and stated looking for an everyday camera, and when a wonderful lightly used/mint X100V in Silver/Brown edition popped out in our local marketplace, I quickly snagged it from the seller. From there I was immediately hooked with the camera as it was very fun and engaging to use. I love film sims, Classic Chrome rocks but later on, I intend to experiment shooting with RAW+ to up my skill. I also bought a WCL and even the expensive (for me) Hoage square metal hood. I am also planning to buy an ILC in order to complement my existing camera, but as of now, I am not sure which to get, either keeping align with the Fuji in the likes of X-T2 or X-T3 in the hopes to mimic my previous set up from my old system, or try to get a FF camera for the different FF look. (Sony A7iii/iv) Anyways, I am hoping to learn more from this forum, meet new friends and at the same way get inspired with the photos being shared here. Stay safe Thank you so much.
  25. It might sound complex, but it really is not: I download JPEGs from the camera (X100F) to my iPhone using the Fujifilm Camera Remote app, in full resolution and sRGB. When I post the given photo on Facebook, theres a clear color shift towards red (especially in the lighter tones), which quite frankly ruins the skintones, etc. If I copy the very same photo from the iPhone to my PC (for example via e-mail) and post it from there, the colors are correct, as is the jpeg file itself. Does anyone have a similar experience or an idea what could cause this? Since theres no iOS trickery involved (I make sure I am comparing the very same file on both PC and iPhone) and its in sRGB profile already, I dont understand where the color shift is coming from and quite frankly its making it impossible for me to post photos from my phone. Strangely, it it doesnt seem to affect snaps I have taken with iPhone to begin with, only the X100F photos I transfer from the camera. Comparison bellow....
