  1. Today I shot Estonian athletics championships with my X100s beside Canon gear. The best pictures came from Fuji as it made me think outside of the box Estonian Athletics Championships @Kadriorg Stadium, Tallinn, Estonia by Hendrik Osula, on Flickr Estonian Athletics Championships @Kadriorg Stadium, Tallinn, Estonia by Hendrik Osula, on Flickr Estonian Athletics Championships @Kadriorg Stadium, Tallinn, Estonia by Hendrik Osula, on Flickr Estonian Athletics Championships @Kadriorg Stadium, Tallinn, Estonia by Hendrik Osula, on Flickr Estonian Athletics Championships @Kadriorg Stadium, Tallinn, Estonia by Hendrik Osula, on Flickr
  2. Hi ! Here's a few pics of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup from last week-end at the Mont Sainte-Anne ski resort in Québec, Canada. It was the 26th edition of the Velirium, a great event that brings all of the best riders from around the world to compete on very technical and steep 2.9km course. The winner did it in under 4 minutes, so at a average speed of 43.5 km/hr but in some section of the course they reach top of 80 km/hr....they are fast ! My X-T1 and XF 50-140 combo did quite good, even with the riders coming out of shaded area into the bright sun, lost frames from AF errors was under 10 %, just about the same as the number of frame lost because of framing errors when trying to follow the riders with the EVF. I know I'm going to love my X-T2 Shot with a X-T1 and the XF50-140 f/2.8, AF-C, Drive on CH (8fps), Zone Focus (3x3 grid), Raw, PP in LR 6.6.1 and the Nik Collection. 3. I had an honour to be official photographer for FIBA at Eurobasket 2017 group A in Helsinki. Shot whole tournament with my Fujifilm X-T2 bodies with different lenses and has one backup Canon 5D MK III with 200mm F1,8 also with me (which didn't get too much work...). Unfortunately I didn't have my 90/2 with me as it fell from my bag couple of weeks before the tournament and I had to send it to get it repaired. There were many surprised photographers asking from me am I really shooting with Fujifilm. I was the only one who used anything besides Nikon and Canon, but as always Fujifilm didn't let me down! 4. Hi ! I recently migrated from a canon to a fuji x-t2 for my sport photography. I had to find out how to focus sometimes on the left of the frame, and then a split second later to focus on the right of the frame... And... it's easy ! I describe how I do it on this post : https://blog.laurencebichon.com/en/simple-way-switch-focus-left-right-sport-photography-fuji-x-t2/ If you have additional ideas, suggestions, please leave a comment…Thanks ! Laurence
  5. Hi fellow Fuji shooters! I have been covering FIBA Basketball U18 European Championship Division B in Tallinn for FIBA Europe and as on Tuesday I received my new Godox AD200 flashes and Godox X1T-F transmitter, I have been trying them out on court! I have to say that at first it took some time to get used to new system as I haven't used flashes too much with Fuji before, but when I got the grip of it, it works well. HSS doesn't lose too much power with AD200 strobes, which is surprising and that way it works great for sports! The only issue I have found is that about every 6-7 shot I take the flash syncs too early or too late so I miss the shot. I don't know if there is something with my shutter speed (1/1000 - 1/2000s) or the venues. I hope to get more experience with the new system in different setups in upcoming weeks and hope to keep you also up to date with my findings! At least after to days of using the system I'm more than satisfied! 6. Hi all I researched a lot, seeking info related to shooting sport photography when I considered my big jump from DSLR to the Fuji x-t2. I did not find a lot, so having done the jump, I wish to share today my experience about the ergonomic differences between the Fuji x-t2 and the Canon 5dm3 for sports (at least the way I shoot sports :-) ). https://blog.laurencebichon.com/en/9-ergonomic-differences-of-fujifilm-x-t2-and-canon-5dm3-for-sports Please share also your experiences and preferences ! 8. Hello, I have been shooting various sport events since 2003 until 2014 on Canon. Then quit action photography and switched to Fuji for more calm photography. Switching was one of the best decisions I've made! That quality of color and sharpness - it still surprises and makes me happy every day! I've been asked to shoot some motorcycle races this season, so googling daily what are the best techniques for Fuji X-T2 because they dramatically differ from Canon. I would like to get some suggestions from You. So here are a couple of questions: 1. Motorcycle straight on at high speed - which AF Mode - Single point, Zone or Wide/Tracking is more reliable? What size of Single point or Zone? Best custom setting for it? 2. Panning - same or different AF Mode is best? Best custom setting? If it's important what gear I plan to use - it is X-T2 + Battery Grip, 55-200mm, 90mm f/2, 35mm f/2, Samyang 12mm f/2 and 8mm Fisheye. Thank You all in advance! Audrius
  9. I shot this photos on a climbing path over the city of Caprie, in Piemonte, Italy. It's a climbing that whoever with a normal physical form can face. Carring the X-T1 all the way to the top wasn't difficult, expect from some difficult transition where the rock was on my left side (where I had the camera), and the weight of the camera + lens didn't bother me at all. I almost forgot of it in some moments. Here some of the shots I took. #1 #2 #3 #4 #5 #6 #7
  10. i did sports for the first time with my fuji setup. anyone who is interested can read about my experience here: http://www.patrickpapesch.com/messenger-race-with-the-fujifilm-x-t1-2/ any feedback and discussion is welcome:)
  11. As it seems that X-T2 is finally making breakthrough for sports photographers out there, I think it's time to make an open thread for sports shots also. So we don't need to make new topic any time someone shoots sports with Fuji I start with some shots from this week. 12. It has been just few days since I left Rio and I had a day to recharge my batteries (my own one and also all of my Fuji ones) and now I'm shooting Summer Biathlon World Championships in southern Estonia. Fujifilm Estonia is again helping me and gave me one X-T2 with battery booster for the event (first camera here in Estonia) and let me keep X-Pro2 also which I had with me at the Olympics. So now I can compare them side-by-side and show you pictures from both cameras. When I have time, I will post my first remarks. After first day at least I can say that X-T2 suits my style much better. Bigger EVF, battery booster (which really boosts the camera) and faster AF are the first things to mark down, where X-T2 is kicking X-Pro2s butt Official Training @IBU Summer Biathlon WCH Otepää 2016 by Hendrik Osula, on Flickr X-T2 + 50-140/2,8 Official Training @IBU Summer Biathlon WCH Otepää 2016 by Hendrik Osula, on Flickr X-Pro2 + 14/2,8 Mixed Relay Juniors @IBU Summer Biathlon WCH Otepää 2016 by Hendrik Osula, on Flickr X-T2 + 14/2,8 Mixed Relay @IBU Summer Biathlon WCH Otepää 2016 by Hendrik Osula, on Flickr X-Pro2 + 18-55/2,8-4 Mixed Relay @IBU Summer Biathlon WCH Otepää 2016 by Hendrik Osula, on Flickr X-Pro2 + 18-55/2,8-4 Mixed Relay @IBU Summer Biathlon WCH Otepää 2016 by Hendrik Osula, on Flickr X-T2 + 50-140/2,8 All comments and questions are welcome!
