I am a newbie and recently started using x-t1 a few months ago. Its the first camera i have owned thats not a cheap (<200) point and shoot. Need your suggestions in keeping costs down when it comes to filters - I have a fuji F/2 35mm WR prime lens that accepts 43mm filters. I bought a polarizing filter so that i can capture blue skies (rather than a white out) while shooting outside in bright summer days. The problem is, 43 mm filters are hard to find. And probably won't they wont fit other fuji lenses that i will eventually buy. Next one i am looking for is the 27mm f/2. I don't want to have to buy a new filter for every lens i buy ! Someone mentioned that i should get a converter/ adapter which will allow me to buy 50mm filters (readily available) and use that on all my lenses. But a quick search on amazon didn't help me with that. Could you advise about the existence and cost/ quality benefit of such converters ? What are they called converter/ adapter ? What size filters would you recommend buying which can be used across most Fuji lenses ? thanks for the help,

What can you expect when combining a recent camera, an older lens and some accessories that were never intended to be used together? Actually, the results are surprisingly good! I tested a number of Nikon F-mount lenses combined with a Metabones adapter and the new XF 1.4x TC on my X-cameras. The extra flange distance provided by the mount adapter solves the issue with the protruding front element of the TC. The image quality results from the tested lens+TC combos turned out to be more than acceptable. A few pairs of 100% center crops to illustrate: Combining the 1,4x TC with older primes may help fill some of the remaining holes in the X-mount lens line-up. Definitely worth the try, and a lot of fun as well! For an extensive discussion, see this article.

Can anyone help me get a replacement for my lens hood for the X-mount 70-300mm lens? I recently bought the lens new and I ride my bike with it on my camera, attached to my backpack with a Peak Design clip. I’d ridden a few times before without any problems. But today the hood must have fell off at some point into my 4mi ride. I didn’t notice anything special occur, I just noticed at some point that the hood was no longer attached. I’ve retraced my path a number of times but can’t find the hood
