Hi Guys, I just brought the Fuji xt10. I get a black screen when pressing the picture review button using an external flash when shooting in manual mode. I have a shoot coming up on Thursday and this is embarrassing. What am I doing wrong? Can anyone advise me on this issue please?

THIS IS A COPY OF AN EMAIL I HAVE SENT TO FUJI. IF ANY OF YOU HAVE ANY IDEAS, I'D LOVE TO HEAR THEM! I purchased a new XT10 (s/n 67L03084) along with 2 kit lenses in November of this year. The 16-50 lens s/n is 62H09098. The s/n of the 50-230 lens is 62H00965. I have also booked a holiday to the Arctic Circle with the sole intention of shooting the Northern Lights. Last night was clear so I took the camera out to try some star pics to see how it performed. I know that autofocus is unlikely to work under such conditions, so I set the camera to manual focus and set it at the extreme end of its scale, i.e. infinity. The resultant pictures were all blurred. I then experimented and found that infinity is in focus when the camera suggests there’s still some way to go. I have repeated this experiment during daylight and it seems the 16-50 kit lens doesn’t focus on infinity when it’s set to infinity. When I am photographing the Northern Lights, the temperature will be in the region of minus 20 degrees and it is extremely unlikely that I will be able to set the focus in such conditions using trial and error (actually, having spent a fair amount of money on said camera, why should I have to use trial and error?). Furthermore, if it’s just stars, there will be insufficient light for me to manually focus anyway, so I could be out in the freezing cold taking blurred pictures and I’ll only find that out when I upload them to a computer once inside the hotel. So, my questions are: 1. Am I doing something wrong? 2. If not, what is the next step? I need the camera to take pictures of the Northern Lights and it looks like it may not be up to the job. Attached are four files; 2 taken with the focus set on infinity (both blurred) and the other 2 with me manually focussing and ignoring infinity.

Until now i didn't though about the xe2s, but today i've seen a black one and it looks amazing ! I know the xt10 had problems in the play button, what about the xe2s? The build quality of the last one is better (made in Japan) ? Another point is my left eye dominance and big nose There's some software difference between them? Thank you very much!

Evening all. My names Jim from a little city called Lincoln, Lincolnshire in the UK. If you're reading this and from the UK, you've probably heard of where I am from recently due to the success of our football team. I'm not a football fan, but it's good the boys have done well. I've been into photography from a really young age, starting off from pinching my parents Kodak film camera (the long thin type you pulled apart and pushed together to wind the film on!) and having one of my photos I took of a windmill locally, published in the local paper when I was around 8 or 9 years old. It wasn't until about 13 years ago that I really started to take a real interest in the hobby. I saved up and bought a Fuji S9600 Bridge Camera. I loved this and it really helped develop my skills, but it begun to restrict me somewhat with regards to versatility (unable to change lens) and go fully manual to learn what things do. I then purchased a Pentax K10d DSLR and built up a small collection of lenses, which I used to death up until last year, when a colleague of mine began to show me his collection of various Fuji X cameras. I loved the design, how compact they were but most of all the image quality, notably the ISO perfomance, which I still can't believe today. I have been a happy owner of my XT-10 now for almost a year. I have the basic XF 18-55mm, which for a "kit" lens is unbeliebable quality, a XC 50-230mm which I use a lot for wildlife photography and motorsport's and a Samyang 8mm Fish eye. I would love a few more different lenses, particularly the 100-400mm lens, but with the cost it's completely pipe dreams for me. I may hire one, but I worry that it'll make me want one even more. Would also love another lens to help with wedding photography, something that will give a nice DOF. I have one wedding under my belt, but need more confidence! Anyway, that's my rather long winded hello. I'm off to explore the forum. regards, Jim.

I'm the lucky owner of an XT10 and a 100-400 4.5-5.6. When budgeting I decided that my money at this present time was better spent on glass than body so I went for the cheapest body available at the Photography Show and the most expensive lens (oh dear). Must admit The lens is superb and the camera is too even if not a perfect match for the lens. My question is this - Would you trust the tiny XT10 to hold the weight of the large lens hanging from it's bayonet and the skinny camera strap in tiny eyelets? I must admit it feels a bit scary to have that large heavy lens hanging from the tiny xt10 and just the supplied strap in the camera eyelets. Anyone have any technical reassurance ... Or otherwise?
