  1. Hi all, First post here. Hope some Fuji users can help - any questions answered will be helpful - thanks in advance. I currently shoot with a Nikon D90 and 50mm prime for street photography. I really want to switch to Fuji. I went to check out the Fuji range and was initially considering the X-T20, X-T2, X-Pro 2. (All with 35mm F2) After putting the EVF to my eyes for a minute I felt kind of sea sick, Ive never looked through an EVF before. So I am left with OVF as the only option. This leaves the X100F and X-Pro 2 as my only options. 1) I wear glasses - and found the viewfinder very small on the X-Pro 2, the OVF is also quite unusual to use. Does anyone else find it difficult to use (glasses wearers?) Is parallax an issue here? 2) I see the X100F OVF seems much bigger and clearer, do users find this? 3) Im concerned to buy an X100F as the fixed lens may be restrictive - I know it has crop modes, does the OVF adjust to the crop mode selected - or only the frame lines? 4) Should I wait for X-Pro 3 before buying X-Pro 2? (either because X-Pro 2 prices may drop, or because they may improve the OVF on X-Pro 3?) 5) I know they are different cameras - but would you get an X-Pro 2 over an X100F? I like the X-Pro 2 more aesthetically (doesn't mean its better in practice) Thanks, Darren

  4. Hello everyone, First post on this forum so let me introduce myself : Nicolas, fuji x100 user when this camera was released, sold it and regret it, fuji x100f user for a month. I would like to report an odd behavior which is supposed to be fixed in the latest firmware as per Fuji detailed report here https://www.fujifilm.com/support/digital_cameras/software/firmware/x/x100f/history.html 0/ my fuji X100F is running the latest firmware (2.11) 1/ In manual focus mode: 2/ Whether: I use the AEL/AFL button to acquire focus Or use the front ring to manually focus (the area in focus is highlighted with the focus peak option so I know precisely what is in focus) 3/ AND focusing at short distance (less than 50 cm) 4/ AND using any aperture smaller than f/2.0 (the smallest the aperture, the biggest lens moves: see point 5/ below) 5/ When I press the shutter button, the lens slightly moves (obvious move) before the picture is acquired, thus ruining what is in focus. I have repeated the same process in AF/S and everything works fine. Anyone experienced this behavior? Do you know if the fuji website has a link to submit incident request? Thanks for reading ! Nicolas
  5. It might sound complex, but it really is not: I download JPEGs from the camera (X100F) to my iPhone using the Fujifilm Camera Remote app, in full resolution and sRGB. When I post the given photo on Facebook, theres a clear color shift towards red (especially in the lighter tones), which quite frankly ruins the skintones, etc. If I copy the very same photo from the iPhone to my PC (for example via e-mail) and post it from there, the colors are correct, as is the jpeg file itself. Does anyone have a similar experience or an idea what could cause this? Since theres no iOS trickery involved (I make sure I am comparing the very same file on both PC and iPhone) and its in sRGB profile already, I dont understand where the color shift is coming from and quite frankly its making it impossible for me to post photos from my phone. Strangely, it it doesnt seem to affect snaps I have taken with iPhone to begin with, only the X100F photos I transfer from the camera. Comparison bellow....
  6. Hey everyone! I´m contemplating between the X-100F and the X-T30, I know they´re very different.. But if a new X100 will come out soon it would definitely weight towards it. Has anyone heard of an upcoming X100 model? its been a few years already since the F model !!
  7. Hi, Today, my first X100F video was published on YouTube. All my videos during the year I shoot with my best and excellent video camera: Fujifilm X100F. Subscribe to my channel today! PS. Tips and good advice from all of you will be taken with gratitude! https://youtu.be/0MOkBXl5FU4
  8. Hi, I have a problem with my X100F. It can sometimes take several seconds before it takes the shot after I have pressed the shutter half way and found the focus. Even though I take a shot of the same subject (no change of camera position) the shutter lag varies from half a second to 3-4 seconds. Very frustrating..... Strangely enough, there's no lag when I press the shutter all the way in one operation (when I don't need to recompose). So, the lag only happens when I have half press the shutter and have found the focus pont. The focus stays green. I don't understand why this is happening. Is it a software issue or a bug with the camera? I hope someone has got the answer and can share it here with me. It is SO frustrating!! Thank you. Best wishes, Bjarte
  9. Hello Everyone, I’m trying to use the FujiFilm phone app: CAM REMOTE with my X100F and while it works well for taking pictures, I am having difficulty with using it for video, which I would really like to do. While I can do a single focus, when taking pictures, by tapping the screen where I would like to focus, then taking the picture, this does not work in the video mode. In video mode, it seems the only option is for a continuous focus mode where it is always searching for focus — seems like it is looking for movement and focusing on that. Is there are a way to change it so that I can tap on my phone screen and set a single focus point and NOT have it continuously searching for focus (it makes quite a bit of noise). Any other apps (for iPhone or Mac) or advice on recording video (being able to control focus and start a video) remotely using the x100f, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone!

  11. Isle of Lewis, September 2017. The Fujifilm X100F is probably my favourite of all digital cameras I have owned and used since 1999. Used here with the WCL-X100.
  12. Wouldn't it be nice? And maybe some better lens (sharper at f/2 in close distances), better video with focus peaking, headphone socket... What's your take? The Ultimate X100! For everything but work the x100's are a constant wedding vows renewal, I'm constantly renewing ours.!

  14. Coming from the Ricoh world where zone focusing is completely another story thanks to the snap mode, I had to dig into the manual and all the options of the X100F in order to become friend with it. I wanted to share ! https://blog.laurencebichon.com/zone-focus-with-the-fuji-x100f/ Laurence
  15. It took me some time for to find out my way regarding exposition / photometry with the X100F for street photography. I wanted to share ! https://blog.laurencebichon.com/simple-way-expose-street-x100f/ Laurence
  16. For X100F owners, can I ask you to set your camera to manual focus mode - using the digital scale set the point of focus to 10 feet. Manual exposure at say F8 @ 1/500th. Drive mode set to L. Take a few pictures pointing the camera at various distances without moving the lens focus ring. Is the point of focus jumping around on the digital scale in the LCD or EVF. I have have seen this happen on both the X100F and a friends X-T20. If you set the lens aperture to A mode it will hold at the set point of focus. Cheers, Terry
  17. In case useful to others, I've mapped the EXIF info for the various film simulations offered by the Fuji X100F. You need to read 2 tags (FilmMode and Saturation) to get the full information. I've used exiftool, a command-line tool, to get this. I am on a Mac but exiftool is freely available on most platforms. (Now if someone could find out whether whether usage of the built-in ND filter is captured in EXIF...) # exiftool -m -s -f -FilmMode -Saturation *.JPG ======== Acros+G.JPG FilmMode : - Saturation : Unknown (0x503) ======== Acros+R.JPG FilmMode : - Saturation : Unknown (0x501) ======== Acros+Ye.JPG FilmMode : - Saturation : Unknown (0x502) ======== Acros.JPG FilmMode : - Saturation : Unknown (0x500) ======== ClassicChrome.JPG FilmMode : Unknown (0x600) Saturation : Normal ======== Monochrome+G.JPG FilmMode : - Saturation : B&W Green Filter ======== Monochrome+R.JPG FilmMode : - Saturation : B&W Red Filter ======== Monochrome+Ye.JPG FilmMode : - Saturation : B&W Yellow Filter ======== Monochrome.JPG FilmMode : - Saturation : None (B&W) ======== ProNegHi.JPG FilmMode : Pro Neg. 18. Does anyone use ON1 Camera Raw to process the X100F compressed RAW files? I have downloaded the latest version (11.1.0.3613), and still not able to (a) process the RAW files from my X100F, or ( get a satisfactory response from the ON1 support desk. All help greatly received.
  19. I have just bought my 4th Fuji X camera the X100F 1 week ago, on testing it for picture sharpness I have discovered that the left quarter of the frame when the single AF point is in the centre, is out of focus, if I move the focus point over to that side the centre of the frame is out of focus, also the lens barrel seems to hunt in and out more than my previous X100T. Lastly when setting aperture to f2.0 in bright sunshine the shutter speed will not go over 1000sec and pic is bleached out, at f2.8 shutter goes up to 2/3000 and is exposed ok. So it is going back. Very disappointing Also the Q button is right where my thumb goes, so often pressed in error. Any similar faults out there S.W.
  20. Anyone experienced issues when using the H or L settings on the speed/sensitivity dial? The dial is working fine for every other ISO setting including Auto, but for some reason the L value stays at 200, and the H value stays at 12800 (doesn't matter if I select 25600 or 51200 in the menu settings) The I've tried various combinations of shutter speed and F-stop (including auto modes) but nothing seems to solve the issue. So based on this it seems like a software glitch (or an undocumented "dependency" where some other setting I have on the camera is locking H & L from changing) Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.
  21. Hey guys, I've read on facebook about this issue and tested it on my x100f and boy.. The left side of the screen (especially upper corner) is very lose if I slightly press/touch the display. It also makes crackling sound, it seems to not be glued very well.. So I just wanted to ask you if you also noticed the squishy corners of your x100f display? I'm sending it back to amazon and waiting for a replacement. Sadly, the camera is sold out in Germany :/ And since it's a wide spreaded problem, I guess it won't become better with a new one.
  22. I am just starting here but I have been a Fuji user for over 15 years. My first X was the X100s. After about a year I had it converted to dual spectrum so I can shoot IR or visible light but must use a filter for each. Without a filter I get a combined photo with interesting colors and white foliage. I've been using it modified for about 2 years. I've had my X100F since the day after they were released. My X100s has a high shutter count and I am sometimes troubled that I can't always get realistic color when shooting in visible. So I got the F and love it. Now I'm carrying 2 cameras but at least they weigh less than a SLR. And there is little to no filter switching. I've been reading the Fuji rumors posts since I decided to get the X100F and found this master site from there.
  23. Just received my X100F few days ago and currently doing some testings and comparisons to X-Pro2. X100F's EVF is bigger(higher magnification) and I like it better than one in X-Pro2. However, while shooting in dim light I noticed that EVF has these horizontal lines. That are barely visible, and I could only see them in certain situations(mainly gradients) prominently at the bottom of the EVF. It's kind of hard to explain what they look like, but I'd describe them as line os pixels of different brightness. Try scrolling through some photos in EVF and let me know of you see them or just point your camera on solid-coloured wall. Found a similar issue HERE. P.S. I might sound very nitpicky, but these things don't really bother me. I just want to know if I'm the only one seeing them.
  24. Right now, there's no way to set the digital teleconverter when you're in MF mode, without diving deep into the menus. In AF mode you can set it to the control ring, but of course that's not available in MF mode, and currently you can't set it to a function button for quick access. I actually really like the digital teleconverter, and since I usually shot in Medium size mode, I don't get as much image degradation since it crops and then doesn't need to upscale as much, if at all. I'm in MF with back-button focus most of the time, since focusing is quicker and in AF/Av mode the aperture release is super annoyingly slow and flickers the LCD/EVF screen. So, this post is mostly to get this on Fuji's radar, unless someone actually has found a way to do this. I gather they monitor this at least to some extent, and I'm sure this is an easy firmware addition if they choose.
