  1. Hey All, ON1 just released a major update to Photo Raw 2017 which includes lots of useful features for Fuji X users. Here is my review with a special emphasis on Fuji including the new lens corrections and improved X-Trans processing and other good stuff for us Fujifilm users. Let me know if you read it and what you think. I'm talking with them soon to provide feedback and they have a track record of listening so lemme know! Joel
  2. I've just written up a new blog post here, outlining the settings I've worked out to get the most out of Iridient Digital's new X-Transformer conversion software. I did some rather rigorous testing over the past couple of days, to see if I can find an optimal starting point when working with Iridient + Lightroom. I was searching everywhere for suggested settings, but it being such a new product I was unable to find any real direction. Please have a read, and let me know what you think! I think the results are wonderful, but would love to hear others opinions. This is just a base starting point, prior to any further processing, but it makes a freshly converted X file look perfect. Cheers; Isaac
  3. Am I the only one who is thinking that there are too many choices for RAW conversions and image editing. Recently ON1 RAW, Luminar, Affinity Photo, Iridient Developer, and Updated Capture One 10 are just a few of the applications to announce new products. Each application can be used to arrive at similar final images... sort of. Each application has advocates who proclaim that converted x-trans files look great and vice versa. Each application requires a different workflow, with many passing through LR. Each application has a series of sliders that may have different names, but can be used similarly from application to application eg Curves. Since there are different "styles" of photographers, I am sure that there are many opinions on the best applications or combination of applications for every photographer. I have currently been testing the ON1 RAW pre-release and Luminar as an amateur photographer. Before I have more invested in software than hardware, what are the Fuji shooters using or changing toward and why?
  4. Hi All, Yesterday ON1 sent me an advanced copy of their newest release of Photo Raw due to be out Thursday, Feb 9th. I wrote an article comparing it to several other Fuji Raw processors. It has improved substantially and now handles lossless-compressed files. Enjoy, Joel
