  1. Hello All We have plenty of rumours flying around re the X-T2, X-Pro2 X-E3 (2s) but what about the occosionaly mentioned Monochrome only body? I for one, and I'm sure many others are waiting to hear & then rush out & buy this! Cheers....
  2. Hi everyone. Can any X-E2s user please help me find out what brightness controls on the EVF are available in the camera menus. I sold my X-E1 shortly after buying it because the EVF seemed much too dark for me when shooting in bright light outdoors. I had a similar problem with my X-T1 camera even at the maximum +2 setting but at least the problem has gone away now that I have my X-T2 which is excellent at the +4 setting. I'm thinking of buying a S/H X-E2s as a backup body but I can't find any info about the EVF brightness settings of that camera (as good as the X30 would be fine!) and I don't live anywhere near a camera shop to go and check it out. Many thanks. Mike.
  3. I’ve been using Fuji since they introduced the X-E1. Over the years since I have had a number of Fuji bodies and lenses but have settled on an X-T2 and an X-E2s with various prime lenses. I have always found Fuji to be a great system to work with and have earned much of my income from their products. The lineage of each model seemed logical and each new version made progressive improvements such as improved AF or resolution for example. You can tell that the X-E2s is progression from the original X-E1 with nicely thought out additions or upgrades. The X-T2 is such a nice camera and certainly a step up from the X-T1. So far, so good. In my mind at least the line up worked something like X-A cameras for amateurs, casual shooters, etc. The X-T10/20 for the more trendy photographer, someone who liked innovation such as touch screens and blue tooth and the cute look of the camera. The X-E cameras for the expert photographer, the person who liked the rangefinder styling and the smaller size for travelling and discrete photography, a street photographers camera perhaps. the X-T range for the more demanding photographer, someone who wanted a more professional kind of camera in a DSLR style and the X-Pro for the same kind of photographer who preferred a rangefinder kind of camera. I’m probably wildly wrong here but at least it’s a stab at my understanding the lineage of the various Fuji offerings. Then came the X-E3 and messed it all up for me. Here was a camera that looked like an X-E camera but seemed more at home in a X-T20s? In the lineage, instead of a progression, someone seems to have left the logical path and gone off track with this camera. In my mind at least, the X-E3 should have been an upgrade from the X-E2s. Perhaps a X-E2s with the X-T2 sensor and AF but with the XT-20 flippy screen and IBIS. I can see how introducing bluetooth connectivity with a tablet and touch screens would appeal to an X-T20 user perhaps but where is the camera for the X-E1, X-E2 and X-E2s user? I’m trying desperately hard to find the good in the X-E3 and I will try one out but it simply does not appeal to me right now. I feel that Fuji have spoilt a good thing by letting someone introduce trendy features onto something that was historically more traditional. It would be a shame if Fuji lost their vision after all the success they have had to date.
  4. Keep looking for manual alternative of XF 27mm 2.8 lens. Decided to try Voigtlander 28mm 2.8 SL II in Nikon F mount (Canon mount version is heavier and larger). I like how it performs on Fuji sensor. F2.8 F2.8 F5.6
  5. I've recently borrowed this lens from Hamish Gill to try it on my Fuji X-E2s and write short review of 7artisans 12mm F2.8 lens on 35MMC Here's also related 7artisans 12mm F2.8 Flickr public group for lens samples I've purchased this lens after writing review, and now just waiting for better weather to make more live shots. Also the partial disassembly is planned soon : ) Please let me know if you have any questions on this lens, will be happy to share more details. 7artisans 12mm F2.8 shot with Fuji X-E2s
  6. I’ve purchased 7artisans 50mm F1.8 lens three weeks ago directly from eBay 7artisans store. Here's my short review on this lens: Lens Review – 7artisans 50mm F1.8 (FX Mount)
  7. This is another Nikon AF glass I extensively used in the past and sold when moved to Fuji X. I tried XF 50-140mm f2.8, but lens didn't fit my personal expectation. Yes, there is quick autofocus, IS, and super sharp image (even bit sharper than I want). That lens it's large, heavy, expensive, and bothers me by extra digital operations and noise. Also 140mm was a bit limiting after using of XF 55-200mm. Today I received great Nikon AF 180mm f2.8 ED sample from Japan in near mint conditions for only 2/3 of the price I sold my previous one. This lens is built like a tank, has quite convenient focus ring position, and of course f2.8. One of the downside - no tripod collar. But it's not too heavy and works great wide open, so shooting experience on Fuji X-E2s is very pleasant. Welcome back, Nikon : )
  8. I had Nikon AF 300mm f4 at the time purchased X-E1. It was tough to focus using viewfinder, and almost impossible when using screen handheld. So just sold that glass as well as other Nikon stuff. X-E2 and X-E2s have lower magnification mode in the viewfinder comparing to X-E1, and it makes focusing with all lens noticeably easier for me. I've realized that price went dramatically down for Nikon AF glass, and just purchased AF 300mm again almost two times cheaper then sold it in 2013. Here's one of the result from this lens on X-E2s. I've purchased lens for bird shooting, but didn't catch nice bird yet : )
