  1. Hi all, I was wondering whether any forum users are actively using their XT1 setup for videography? I've been thinking about shooting a small family documentary with an elderly relative but I'm concerned about various comments/issues raised over image quality and I've seen some bad examples of moire etc. Similarly from my research, it appears the mic Jack is 2.5mm, how are people working around this issue for quality audio? It's such a shame that Fuji can't get good quality video output from the XT1 and let us use our great lens and Fuji colours. Solid video output for occasional use such as this would be much appreciated! Being a former GH3 owner and seeing what Sony have done with the A7 range, I think Fuji are missing a trick and risk losing customers to other formats. For example, I noticed that Zack Arius has opted for a GH4 to make up for Fuji's lack of video support, but had kept his Fuji gear. Whether he'd have made the same decision had the A7Rii been available, who knows! Either way, I would be grateful to hear from any XT1 users with experiences to share. Given the importance of the project I want to make sure I've got the right gear/fully aware of any quirks before I start. Thanks in advance, Daniel
  2. I have just bought my camera and very happy with it. Currently just using Auto setting, but when Videoing it has a tendency to go in and out of focus, is there a setting I can use that will avoid this happening.
  3. I did some video shooting for the first time with my X-T2, and the 4K files are really good looking, but unfortunately, the motor for focus on my lens (23mm f/1.4) is so loud that I can hear every little step and jitter it makes over the audio of the scene, even as I'm manually focusing. Does anyone have any thoughts besides "go buy all different lenses for video work" or "Don't focus while shooting"?
  4. Hi guys, A few weeks ago I bought an X-T2, mainly for stills but as a video tool too. Yesterday evening I was making my first real video test shooting : my son presenting a magic trick. Apart the poor choice of profile and the exposition aproximation (light was going down fast) a few of the clips shows some strange "flickering" at the hedges of the picture as you can see there, straight out from cam (please look with full screen) : https://vimeo.com/208623564 The majority of other clips are looking normal, there were shot with the same settings, except for focal lenght minor apperture or Iso changes. Settings were FHD 25 P, Velvia profile with -2 in hi, low lights and sharpness (trst purposes), iso 250, 1/50s, F5.6. Good Transcend 600x SDXC card (never showing problem with lumix gh3). The X-T2 was in boost mode. The only thing that I can think of if that the battery (original np126s) was running low at this moment. I changed it a few time after, but before the camera shuted down. It look like if the lens correction was going on and off... Have you experienced something similar ? What do you think of it ? I'm new to Fuji and I already know the limitations of X-T2 as a video tool but I'm not new to video and never seen something like that. Thanks for your looks and thinks. Boris
  5. I just purchased an X-T2 and had a couple questions for those of you that have one regarding using it to shoot video. -What is the best film simulation mode to use for a flat profile suitable for color grading. I don’t have an external recorder to records F-Log. -I have the Power Booster Vertical Grip on order, which comes with a power adapter to charge two batteries while inside. Can I use this power adapter to power the camera for continuous filming, or do I need to buy another power adapter to power the camera directly for this?
