  1. I just switched from Nikon to Fuji about two months ago! I sold my Nikon D750, D5200 and lenses and bought the X-T1, X-E1 (backup body) and the X-100 as a travel camera. I also got the 56mm 1.2 R, the 23mm 1.4 and the Rokinon 10mm 2.8. I've done one wedding so far and several real estate jobs and I am in love with Fuji! Their lens selection is superb and their primes are to drool over. Knowing what I could get from their lenses was the deciding factor in my decision to switch. I'm in love with the X-T1. It has spoiled me for DSLR's. I never want to go back. There is something about shooting with Fuji's that inspires and is enjoyable. Fuji camera's also have some much class and style. In my opinion, the graphite silver X-T1 is the best looking digital camera on the market, followed very closely by the X100 series. I love photography and Fuji's enhance that love. They inspire creativity. I'm so happy to have the Fuji community to be able to connect with! Attached is a shot I got of my wife in a hotel room several weeks back. Taken with the X-100.
  2. Brogan I saw a topic today about Nikon 19mm diopter glass that are compatible with the X-Pro1. There are at least 2 or 3 on BH Photo but the thread Ø isn't given. But which Nikon model is the one to choose?
  3. I have been a Nikon user since around 2007 when I moved to a DSLR. Before that I had experience with Fuji cameras (FinePix E900) and loved the pictures I took with it. Over the years I went through some experimenting with camera and lens combinations before my current setup, the Nikon D7100 and 18-300 lens. I used to travel a lot and took pictures like crazy from trains, buses, helicopters as well as during walks. I don't have time or patience to keep switching lenses and the 18-300 has been good for the most part even though the images are a little soft. I also despise tripods or posing people and prefer to shoot in the moment. Anyway enough about my history and preferences, lets get to the point. I have been investigating moving into mirrorless and considering options outside of Nikon which brought me to looking over the Sony range and of course returning to Fuji. The Sony a7 II has a nice feel to it and specs but is way too expensive for my tastes and I'm not much of a Sony fan as I had bad experiences with their cameras in the past (pre-Fuji). The Fuji X-T10 seems like reasonably priced system and I have been enjoying the photos I have seen taken with it. Of course any such move to a new camera brings in the concerns so I thought, who would have better information than this group. Any Nikon converts want to share their experience? I am also open to taking advice on lenses since there doesn't seem to an 18-300 equivalent for the Fuji. Thanks in advance.
  4. This is another Nikon AF glass I extensively used in the past and sold when moved to Fuji X. I tried XF 50-140mm f2.8, but lens didn't fit my personal expectation. Yes, there is quick autofocus, IS, and super sharp image (even bit sharper than I want). That lens it's large, heavy, expensive, and bothers me by extra digital operations and noise. Also 140mm was a bit limiting after using of XF 55-200mm. Today I received great Nikon AF 180mm f2.8 ED sample from Japan in near mint conditions for only 2/3 of the price I sold my previous one. This lens is built like a tank, has quite convenient focus ring position, and of course f2.8. One of the downside - no tripod collar. But it's not too heavy and works great wide open, so shooting experience on Fuji X-E2s is very pleasant. Welcome back, Nikon : )
  5. I had Nikon AF 300mm f4 at the time purchased X-E1. It was tough to focus using viewfinder, and almost impossible when using screen handheld. So just sold that glass as well as other Nikon stuff. X-E2 and X-E2s have lower magnification mode in the viewfinder comparing to X-E1, and it makes focusing with all lens noticeably easier for me. I've realized that price went dramatically down for Nikon AF glass, and just purchased AF 300mm again almost two times cheaper then sold it in 2013. Here's one of the result from this lens on X-E2s. I've purchased lens for bird shooting, but didn't catch nice bird yet : )
