  1. Hi everyone! I've loved photography since I was about 10 years old, when my parents bought me an Instamatic. I eventually took photography classes in junior high and high school and inherited my dad's Canon Pellix. When my beloved Pellix drowned in a house flood (my husband had put all my photography equipment, negatives, prints, etc. on the ground ), I bought the Canon DSLR I could afford - a Rebel XTi. For a number of reasons, I never "bonded" with my XTi (mainly having to go through too many menus to do simple things) and I lost interest in photography - especially digital photography. A few months ago, I heard a presentation by a National Geographic photographer about why she chose to take the Fuji X-T1 with her on vacation instead of her full Nikon kit. That presentation convinced me to give Fuji mirrorless a chance. I bought my camera on sale along with a 35mm lens, and have loved it since Day One! I love how light it is, and that I can photograph in manual mode easily (LOVE the ISO dial!). Now that I'm hooked on the Fuji system, I've decided to sell all of my Canon gear to buy another lens for my new camera.
  2. hello guys, I have an authority problem on my macbook (OS version - Monterey) to install x acquire software. recently, i got a macbook pro(intel chip. not apple M1 silicon) and i try to install x acquire for tethering with my x-t1. I installed x acquire software and can find x acquire in menu bar, and i tried allow the x acquire access my files and folders but it isn't work. i try to figure it out the problem, and find blog that introduce same issue(big sur) at Feb-26=2021. [https://waltersanford.wordpress.com/tag/fujifilm-x-acquire/] x acquire compatibility chart page introduce they support the OS version of big sur and monterey. so i thought x acquire developer team solve this problem, but x acquire still not work on my macbook. i tried downgrade Mac OS (big sur) but my macbook is too new to install big sur.. is there anyone have an experience same as me and solve the problem before? plz help...
  3. So I don't usually shoot video with my beloved X-T1. But, in the past few days, I figured I'll try to shoot a few videos of the kids. I know I couldn't use auto focus, so while using the manual focus, I found it very difficult to insure focus using either the EVF or the LCD screen. The focus peaking feature doesn't seem to work while shooting a video. Any advice/tricks? Thanks, Omar
  4. hi guy, I'm using X-h1, X-t1 with few lenses. I wonder should I buy an X100T or an extra 23mm f/2.0 lens. I'm gonna do street photography and sometime travel? Thank you guys.

  15. I've been using my X-T1 solidly for two years now with the same set-up - usually my 18-55mm 2.8 or my 35mm 1.4. Recently I've been finding that it's not as sharp as it once was. This is the same whether I shoot handheld or on a tripod (with OIS turned off). For instance, I used the FujiFilm app to take some headshots of myself the other day and when looking at two images taken within a couple of seconds of each other, one was in focus, one was slightly out. The sensor is clean and it's not been a problem until recently. Has anyone had this before? Any advice?
  16. I noticed my X-T1 RAF file dimensions is shown as 1920x1280 (32.2 MB) under "Properties|Details" in Windows. However, the 100% jpeg output from Capture one shows 4896x3264 (20.0 MB), and in Lightroom the same 100% jpeg export is shown as 4406x2937 (5.62 MB). Setting in the camera is "L 3:2", which is as RAW as you can get. Shouldn't the RAF file be 4896x3264 as indicated in page 126 in the X-T1 manual under image size? Or did I mess up some settings?

  19. I was trying to hold out until the new firmware had been out for a few weeks, but I've gone & done it. I pulled the trigger on a secondhand mint X-T1. I hope I don't regret it!

  22. Hi, does anyone ever bought or tried the MegaGear Case for X-T1 + 18-55m? http://www.amazon.it/gp/product/B00KIN8ON4/ref=s9_wish_gw_d36_g23_i5?ie=UTF8&colid=1A3MQJKMF3SUS&coliid=I39SPRYBPTA0JB&pf_rd_m=A11IL2PNWYJU7H&pf_rd_s=desktop-1&pf_rd_r=176SDC6PCJANEWT5J12N&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=577208427&pf_rd_i=desktop I was thinking about that because it seems really minimal and robust for the X-T1 kit setup. I excluded half cases, because I like that the lens is fully protected within the camera body. The only concern could be the front lens cover that would be hanging when you want to keep the camera ready around your neck, but I think it could be removed during the shooting. Any opinions?
  23. Is anyone else really annoyed that the trash icon button can't be assigned a "function button" for use in shooting mode? It makes no sense to me, as it never does anything unless you are in playback. There surely isn't a technical reason why it can't be re-assigned the way the video and d-pad buttons can. I can't think of a good ergonomic reason either, it's not a button I'm hitting by accident (on the X-T10 anyway). Making it customizeable would be super useful and increase the value of the cameras with no downside. Fuji if you're listening please just make it work like it should! (I'd love to put Shutter type or Face Detection on/off there, next to the drive mode dial since they often need to be changed together to get CH+AF-C working together).
  24. X-T1 Some Samples of Photos with V4.0 Just registered for this site and thought readers here might be interested. Already posted at DPReview. Pls excuse the duplication if you also read DPR. I have maintained an almost daily photoblog for years with my daily personal use photos. I use mainly Nikon cameras but have also used X10 and X-S1 X-T1 prior to purchasing an X-T1 last year. Some Samples of Photos with V4.0 and 18-135mm / 55-200mm lenses. All the reports are accurate about quality of this major FW 4.0 upgrade. New release updates OK over beta. Can't see any differences yet. Some early samples in daily shooting not "testing", just shooting as I would normally. Manual focus with AF-L button is amazing. I shoot raw and convert with LR6.1 and view to post on blog in Picasa 3.
