  1. About a year ago I sold all my Canon gear and bought an X100S. I started off shooting in both RAW and JPG, as was my custom with my Canon. I quickly discovered that the JPGs looked as good or better than the raw files, at least when viewed in Lightroom, so I turned to shooting in JPG exclusively. I never changed any of the JPG settings. Now I have acquired an X-T1 with a 18-55mm and a 14mm. I plan to use both cameras but for different situations. I started off shooting just JPG on the X-T1, as was my new habit , but I found that the images didn't seem as sharp as the ones I am getting from the X100S. I then reverted to shooting both RAW and JPG, and it seems to me that the JPGs look a bit soft (less detailed and less sharp) compared to the unedited RAW images, and softer than the JPGs that come straight out of the X100S (same film simulation on both cameras). I am using the default JPG settings on the X-T1. I want the image quality on the X-T1 to be nigh identical to the X100S, which I really like. Is there a difference in the way the two cameras convert to JPG, should I be using other settings, or does this sound like there could be something wrong with my X-T1? Does anyone have any similar experience?
  2. One of the frustrating things at the moment with the X-T1 is the Multiple Exposure feature. Great that it has it, but you can only use 2 images, it outputs as JPEG, and there is little control of the blending. It would be a great Kaizen feature for Firmware 5 to have: 1) up to 5 or 7 images (some manufacturers do 9) 2) Output as Raw 3) Blend control No idea how you submit features for consideration, but I have tried a few tweets. What is slightly frustrating is that the X-E1 had Raw output, but the flagship model doesn't. I guess too that this isn't restricted to the X-T1 as X-E2 owners would benefit.
  3. Hello everyone. Hope anyone can guide me as what are the settings to AVOID in order not to be kicked out of RAW heaven? I find it confusing....
  4. Hello folks! 😊 So far no one has been able to help on this...I have a new XT30 (updated) and a Macbook (which I just updated when this problem occurred but the update didn't help). I have RAW & Fine set in the camera and PC Connection mode set at "USB RAW/Conv.".....and the MAC only "sees" the .jpg. Not RAW. 😣 Camera store and so far online don't seem to have answer to somehow get the RAW seen so I can work with it.. Anybody out there have any suggestions or experiences? Cindy
  5. Hello there! I am a new buyer on Fujifilm. I own the X-S10 5 days. I shoot compressed and uncompressed stills. I have adjust setting for wired connection and set menu to USB CARD READER. When i open the Fujifilm file on my PC i can see only JPGs and not my RAW FILES. I use a Sandisk SDXC extreme pro 64GB, UHS - 1, U-3, V-30 memory card. (I used a card reader too. I can view only jpgs too. See the foto below). Am i doing something wrong? The camera body is updated to 2.10.
  6. Hey guys, after importing the first images to Lightroom (on a Mac running 10.11.2) after the update I noticed a weird behaviour: All RAW images are cropped to 16:9 after import. Changing the crop ratio to "Original" instead of "As Shot" fixes things. It's a small annoyance as it can quickly be fixed for all images but still it is kind of stupid. Has anyone else had that problem? The only thing I could find about it was this post on DPR: http://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/3966021
