  1. Hi guys. Can U tell how good in fact is this lens? Is it worth the money? If it not depends on focal lenght, the xf23 is really this better, with the price almost twice as high?
  2. Hi guys, new to the forum. I have a Fuji X-H1 with a XF 18-55mm F2.8-4 zoom lens and I have offered to do a home made short film about a member of my family who is very important to our community (war hero) and I was wandering if you could recommend the best prime lens for up and close recording? With up and close I mean, I will be interviewing the man seating 2 to 4 meters away from me, then following him around his house and garage, at the local café... its all going to be mostly indoors or walking into a forest, so F1.4 seems an obvious choice... but what about the focal length? I guess I will also want a fast focusing lens and no noise (LM)... I want the absolute best, so it shows the difference to the existing 18-55mm... and then couple the camera and lens with my smallrig, microphone, gimbal and a few filters and I'm set. Remember, its VIDEO, shooting at 4K in Flog, then edited in Davinci Resolve. I don't care about how good it is for Stills, just VIDEO! many thanks Fern
  3. I'm playing a bit with the XF90mm since a few days and I have to say that the lens is the best in Fuji's lineup and probably my favorite so far. Sharpness, colors, bookeh, contrast, ... I'm speechless. You can find a full size JPG file here: http://j.mp/1H9gVCn Taken outdoors with one flash @ f/2, ISO 200, 1/180s I didn't tweak the sharpness at all. I only converted it to B&W and added the frame in Photoshop. The color profile used in LR to develop it is Provia. Full review coming soon...
  4. Amandakv

    35mm f2

I am about to go in a vacation. This is the first time I am leaving my Nikon home and just taking my xT4. I have a 35mm f2 with a polarizer. Will that be sufficient? I want to go light.
  5. Reading the other threads in this section I have started to thinking about getting some old, cheap lenses in flea markets here in my city, to play with. But since I am a total noob in the topic I thought it will be nice to have a place here on the forum where people can post and read of hints & tips about the second-hand lens's market. For example what you need to check before you buy an old lens, what types of adapters or other stuff you could need, if some lenses need to be modified in order to be used on a digital fuji and other thigs like this. Feel free to recommend some lens you love or that has a strange special effect you like, maybe adding some hints on the price to expect and some photos taken with it. Your experience will be really usefull to many of us
  6. Hello Fuji Lovers! I know that Fujinon XF50-140mm f/2.8 is the only option available for wide-apertured telephoto zoom; and it is a fine Lens that Fujifilm offers. However, it is already a decade old Lens and for me it is little heavier one ; wondering if Fuji is planning for an upgrade of this lens and bring in some thing lighter one instead, they way it is for XF150-600mm. Any thoughts on this?
  7. Initial lens review of Viltrox 85mm F1.8 lens on Fujifilm X-T30 camera.
  8. Good morning everyone, I'm a Fuji lover since the day they came up with that old fashioned looking xpro - what a great story they have built to become a solid challenger to the Canon, Nikon & Sony of this world. I'm using my XT3 primarily for video creation and am looking at switching to the XT4, due to the stabilization and therefore capacity to film handheld in some situations. I'm also considering switching from the standard lens kit (18-55 f2.8-4) to the 16-55 f2.8, which however doesn't have built in stab. My question: (i) from what the IBIS can do on other cameras (XH1?), do you expect it can offset the lack of lens stab?, (ii) I've read somewhere that should you mount your fuji on a DJI Ronin stabilizer and connect it, you may lose the in camera stabilization - is this fake or real? thanks a lot for your help (from Paris, France !)
  9. I saw a post of 2015 about the same topic but in that thread it was about 3 prime lenses. It was really interesting to see the results. But what about 2 prime lenses? This question is different because you have to limit yourself even more. What is your 2 prime lens combo? For which shooting style do you need them? How do you use them? Why do you like them? Greetings:)
  10. I would like to start the campaign for a new XF23mm f1.4 WR lens. The original 23mm is my most used lens, by a mile. But I seem to have managed to damage it with rain and snow, while shooting on the south coast this last week. It now has a watermark across one of the internal elements. While I understand there is the f2.0 WR version, in my opinion it is not as good as the f1.4. So Fuji, please could you update this excellent lens to include weather resistance
  11. I cant decide between the 10-24 and the 16 mm 1.4 fuji lens. I have the xt-1 and x-70. As well as the 35m1.4 and 18mm f2 . I would really like a zoom but I also really want the wide low light capabilities of the 16. I do a wide variety of shooting now. Landscape, Street, Portrait, but i also want to get into more night shooting of downtown los angeles and the urban architecture and life and low light shooting. So i am pretty torn on which to go for. I am fairly new to photography and some people have told me that the 10-24 is really go in low light because of ois but I have no idea. I need to decide sometime today. Thanks for your help guys.
