  1. Do you know what is happening with the proposed XF 8-16mm lens? It’s still on the roadmap for about February and we’re now in May.
  2. I’ve purchased 7artisans 50mm F1.8 lens three weeks ago directly from eBay 7artisans store. Here's my short review on this lens: Lens Review – 7artisans 50mm F1.8 (FX Mount)
  3. Question for all the stage and theater shooters out there. I've been using my XT2 and 18-55 to shot my theater work and am thinking about getting the 16-55. Will it be worth it? Seeing that the 16-55 will not have OIS and the 18-55 does. My typical stage shots are set to 1/60s-1/120s at iso1600 or 800 if I am lucky with the lights, and the 18-55 usually wide opened. Am I going to get any sharpness advantage with the 16-55? Yes, I can get the new XH1 but the size and price of that camera do not agree with me. Also, I do not shoot video at all so even less of an incentive for me to get the camera. Any input from professional shooters out there who does stage work with Fuji is greatly appreciated. Thank you! Attached is a typical stage shot that I do.
  4. I would love to have the option to take some macro images with my X pro cameras ( 1&2) I don't really want to buy a macro lens that I will use a couple times a year. What options are their for older lenses and adapters - even extension tubes on existing lenses. I've been doing this a long time, but never got into macro, so some suggestions would be great.
  5. I will go to Sydney and Cairns for about 10 days in the end of June. I have 18-55, 14/2.8 and 35/2 lens. I'd like to take 2 of them and I think the 14/2.8 must be taken. Any suggestion for the remaining one? zoom 18-55 or prime 35? Or any other opinions?
  6. Hello fellow X100* users. I purchased an X100T in September 2016, and while out on a walk a few weeks ago, the front ring around the lens that has the words "fujinon aspherical lens Super EBC 23mm..." disappeared. I honestly can't find it even after I retraced my steps. Well, Fuji won't cover it under warranty because I don't have the part, but that's for another rant at another time. I need to know what this part is called / part number so I can find one and order it. It's the part in this picture, and it's apparently something that can come off the lens. Also, if anybody has one of these that you're willing to sell, please let me know. It looks really ugly without it. I've got a UV filter on it to keep the dust out, but I'd really like it to look normal again.
  7. Is the Fujinon XF23mmf2 WR the same lens as the one used for the Fujifilm X100?
  8. Hey everybody, I'll be on a 2 week trip all over Italy, ( amalfi, rome, tuscany, venice, florence) and i was hoping to hear some opinions as to what lenses would be best to take there. I have the X-T2 body and 16mm f1.4 + 18-135mm f4, but since my girlfriend has the X-T1 i was hoping to get another lens to have an extra option. I've never been to Italy, so not sure what to expect as far as places, moving around with the extra weight and security issues etc. (we'll be hitting the train, bus, driving, and hiking around) I've been drooling over the 10-24mm or the 35mm f2 for a while now. but im open to any suggestions. Money is an issue, but to be honest its just a matter of time till i get both. And i think with the trip coming soon it would be a good opportunity to bite the bullet, get it and take advantage of it in Italy. One more thing, as a bonus... I didn't want to bring with me the booster grip cause its very heavy. however i thought it would make sense to bring it along instead of the battery charger, it will charge 2 batteries on a single plug. ( 2 chargers are still lighter than the grip ) Thanks so much for your opinion on the lenses and if you have any other tip about traveling to Italy or travel photography in general is greatly appreciated.
  9. I am taking pictures since almost 40 years a lot, often when raining. Although i have never owned a weather resistant lens/camera until recently i never ever had a problem. When reading in this forum and blogs some people say WR is a big plus, others say it is overrated. Thus, my question: Who ever had problems with a non-WR or a WR-lens when raining?
  10. Hi I find that when using my Fuji 100-400 lens with the matching 1.4X extender at full reach my photos reveal a sort of halo effect around the subjects as shown in this small section of a recent picture. The photo was taken a 1/1000th hand held and I have tried keeping the OS on and OS off, but with no difference. I have no problems when not using the extender and get pin sharp pictures throughout the range Any thoughts and ideas would be welcome
  11. I stumbled upon a youtube video from "make art now" ,he was showing the new "DJI LiDAR 3D focus system". , Which can be used to give vintage lens "autofocus" ability . So we can get the oldest and unique Lenses and use it for daily work or fun ,same way we use a lens with auto focus ! .it seems interesting to me and i thought it will be useful for everyone here , who likes some specific vintage lens but wasn't buying it because it doesn't have auto focus ! .
  12. Hi guys, I am new to this forum, I have in the past year purchased an XT30, which came with the kit lens 15-45mm 3.5-5.6. I’m looking for a new lens with the primary usage of travel photography. So far I’ve been looking at the 18-55mm 2.8-4.0 or the 35mm F2. I am looking for a lens that will cover most scenarios when travelling. Nothing hugely fancy, anyone have any ideas? Cheers guys Alex
  13. I just recently bought the xs 10 and havent used it much it's still new. I noticed that when shooting 4k and DCI 4k there's a lite flicking sound that sound like a fan or something that comes from the front near the lense mount or even in the lens. I also heard this during playback when testing the internal mic. This sound does not happen when shooting FHD and I'm wondering is it because shooting 4k is more taxing on the Camera or the Lense. When I take the lense of and record with the sensor cap on the camera the sound is gone. is this normal or is this a fault and If its a fault can it be fixed or should I send the camera back. Thanks

  15. Hey, First time posting here. I have just bought the 16-55 f/2.8. And when it is fully zoomed in at 55mm the extension has some wobble to it / feels slightly loose. Is this normal, as this is my first time with this lens. Thanks very much in advance.

  18. Hello, i want to ask. Whats the best lens adaptor for canon ef to fujifilm xt-20? Thanks for your advice😊
  19. Hello everyone, I have a Fuji X-E1 and an Fuji XF 35 mm f/2 R WR lens. I am so happy with my lens especially with the portraits. But I want to buy a new lens for other needs. With this lens I want to focus more documentary and street photography. Plus, I would like to take portraits with a little bit wider angle. After a while I will buy a new body also (probably a X-T2). In the view of such information which lens would you suggest? My options: Samyang 12mm f/2 Fuji XF 18mm f/2 Fuji XF 23 mm f/2 I am open for other suggestions too. Extra: What do you think about 7artians lenses? Do you have any experience with them? Thank you all already for all your helps!
  20. Modern Fujinon lens have electronical parts that may fail due to water damage or other reasons. In most cases it worths pay for repair, but sometimes repair costs are too high and its cheaper to just buy another sample. This Fujinon XF 27mm F2.8 sample was electronically broken, so I've found relatively simple way to convert it into fully manual focus lens. More details in related article: Fujinon XF 27mm F2.8 lens - true manual focus mod
  21. So, I'm in the following dilemma. Should I buy the Samyang/Rokinon 8mm or the 12mm lens? I'd like to have a wide angle lens. I might be going to Europe in September and having a very wide lens will be great to shoot historical buildings, inside churches, etc. Now, I don't know if I should get the fisheye or the non fisheye. I've read many reviews and both lenses are good, but if I get the fisheye, would it just sit in my bag once I come back? Please help with your thoughts. If you can also share images it would be nice. Thanks!
  22. Traveling to Italy in a few weeks. Will spend a few days in Rome, Florence and Tuscany. What will I bring? Packing the X-T1, a handful of batteries, but want to pack light with only two lens. Currently own the 35MM 1.4, 56MM 1.2, and looking to rent a lens, something wider, to capture the architecture and landscapes. There are plenty of choices with the Fuji 10-24mm, 14mm, 16mm and Rokinon 12mm. What would be your two lens? Also, what filters (if any) would you bring to highlight the dramatic sky?
  23. Hi to everybody! Fujifilm is company that seems to listen to us, the photographers. That is why I opened this thread, just to make it easier for the guys at Fuji to decide what lenses they should release next. Hopefully they read it carefully. ;-) Personally I am shooting mostly architecture und landscape photography, that is why I would love to see some wide angle tilt-shift lenses. I know that there are adapters out there, so that you can shift full frame lenses on aps-c bodies. However for aps-c cameras there are no real wide angle options on the market (yet). So, here is my wishlist to Fujifilm: 11mm f4 Tilt-Shift 16mm f4 Tilt-Shift 9-18mm f2.8 WR (no OIS, in order to keep it smaller) What would you like Fuji to come up with?
  24. Hi guys. Can U tell how good in fact is this lens? Is it worth the money? If it not depends on focal lenght, the xf23 is really this better, with the price almost twice as high?
  25. Hi guys, new to the forum. I have a Fuji X-H1 with a XF 18-55mm F2.8-4 zoom lens and I have offered to do a home made short film about a member of my family who is very important to our community (war hero) and I was wandering if you could recommend the best prime lens for up and close recording? With up and close I mean, I will be interviewing the man seating 2 to 4 meters away from me, then following him around his house and garage, at the local café... its all going to be mostly indoors or walking into a forest, so F1.4 seems an obvious choice... but what about the focal length? I guess I will also want a fast focusing lens and no noise (LM)... I want the absolute best, so it shows the difference to the existing 18-55mm... and then couple the camera and lens with my smallrig, microphone, gimbal and a few filters and I'm set. Remember, its VIDEO, shooting at 4K in Flog, then edited in Davinci Resolve. I don't care about how good it is for Stills, just VIDEO! many thanks Fern
