  1. Hello. Does anybody have any experience with adapted lenses that have unique character? What does this mean? Zeiss has a unique characteristic. It's cold, contrasty, fast, and identifiable. Anybody have any experience using zeiss (or other unique) lenses with a GFX? What mount/adapter/lens do you recommend? I'm looking for a "special" normal (35-90mm equiv) lens. Edit to add examples of other systems' lenses that have that special quality: Pentax DFA 77: phenomenal rendering and effortless 3D effect Canon EF 135/2: my all time favorite portrait tele. unique rendering style and unmistakable bokeh character Zeiss 50 Makro Planar: spectacular rendering. sharp as a tack at f/8, dreamy at 2.8, great subject separation & bokeh translation
  2. Hello Fuji Lovers! I know that Fujinon XF50-140mm f/2.8 is the only option available for wide-apertured telephoto zoom; and it is a fine Lens that Fujifilm offers. However, it is already a decade old Lens and for me it is little heavier one ; wondering if Fuji is planning for an upgrade of this lens and bring in some thing lighter one instead, they way it is for XF150-600mm. Any thoughts on this?

    35mm f2

I am about to go in a vacation. This is the first time I am leaving my Nikon home and just taking my xT4. I have a 35mm f2 with a polarizer. Will that be sufficient? I want to go light.
  4. Hi guys, new to the forum. I have a Fuji X-H1 with a XF 18-55mm F2.8-4 zoom lens and I have offered to do a home made short film about a member of my family who is very important to our community (war hero) and I was wandering if you could recommend the best prime lens for up and close recording? With up and close I mean, I will be interviewing the man seating 2 to 4 meters away from me, then following him around his house and garage, at the local café... its all going to be mostly indoors or walking into a forest, so F1.4 seems an obvious choice... but what about the focal length? I guess I will also want a fast focusing lens and no noise (LM)... I want the absolute best, so it shows the difference to the existing 18-55mm... and then couple the camera and lens with my smallrig, microphone, gimbal and a few filters and I'm set. Remember, its VIDEO, shooting at 4K in Flog, then edited in Davinci Resolve. I don't care about how good it is for Stills, just VIDEO! many thanks Fern
  5. I just recently bought the xs 10 and havent used it much it's still new. I noticed that when shooting 4k and DCI 4k there's a lite flicking sound that sound like a fan or something that comes from the front near the lense mount or even in the lens. I also heard this during playback when testing the internal mic. This sound does not happen when shooting FHD and I'm wondering is it because shooting 4k is more taxing on the Camera or the Lense. When I take the lense of and record with the sensor cap on the camera the sound is gone. is this normal or is this a fault and If its a fault can it be fixed or should I send the camera back. Thanks
  6. Hi guys, I am new to this forum, I have in the past year purchased an XT30, which came with the kit lens 15-45mm 3.5-5.6. I’m looking for a new lens with the primary usage of travel photography. So far I’ve been looking at the 18-55mm 2.8-4.0 or the 35mm F2. I am looking for a lens that will cover most scenarios when travelling. Nothing hugely fancy, anyone have any ideas? Cheers guys Alex
  7. I stumbled upon a youtube video from "make art now" ,he was showing the new "DJI LiDAR 3D focus system". , Which can be used to give vintage lens "autofocus" ability . So we can get the oldest and unique Lenses and use it for daily work or fun ,same way we use a lens with auto focus ! .it seems interesting to me and i thought it will be useful for everyone here , who likes some specific vintage lens but wasn't buying it because it doesn't have auto focus ! .
  8. Hey, First time posting here. I have just bought the 16-55 f/2.8. And when it is fully zoomed in at 55mm the extension has some wobble to it / feels slightly loose. Is this normal, as this is my first time with this lens. Thanks very much in advance.
  9. Good morning everyone, I'm a Fuji lover since the day they came up with that old fashioned looking xpro - what a great story they have built to become a solid challenger to the Canon, Nikon & Sony of this world. I'm using my XT3 primarily for video creation and am looking at switching to the XT4, due to the stabilization and therefore capacity to film handheld in some situations. I'm also considering switching from the standard lens kit (18-55 f2.8-4) to the 16-55 f2.8, which however doesn't have built in stab. My question: (i) from what the IBIS can do on other cameras (XH1?), do you expect it can offset the lack of lens stab?, (ii) I've read somewhere that should you mount your fuji on a DJI Ronin stabilizer and connect it, you may lose the in camera stabilization - is this fake or real? thanks a lot for your help (from Paris, France !)
  10. I saw a post of 2015 about the same topic but in that thread it was about 3 prime lenses. It was really interesting to see the results. But what about 2 prime lenses? This question is different because you have to limit yourself even more. What is your 2 prime lens combo? For which shooting style do you need them? How do you use them? Why do you like them? Greetings:)
  11. Hi I find that when using my Fuji 100-400 lens with the matching 1.4X extender at full reach my photos reveal a sort of halo effect around the subjects as shown in this small section of a recent picture. The photo was taken a 1/1000th hand held and I have tried keeping the OS on and OS off, but with no difference. I have no problems when not using the extender and get pin sharp pictures throughout the range Any thoughts and ideas would be welcome
  12. Initial lens review of Viltrox 85mm F1.8 lens on Fujifilm X-T30 camera.

  14. Modern Fujinon lens have electronical parts that may fail due to water damage or other reasons. In most cases it worths pay for repair, but sometimes repair costs are too high and its cheaper to just buy another sample. This Fujinon XF 27mm F2.8 sample was electronically broken, so I've found relatively simple way to convert it into fully manual focus lens. More details in related article: Fujinon XF 27mm F2.8 lens - true manual focus mod
  15. Hello, i want to ask. Whats the best lens adaptor for canon ef to fujifilm xt-20? Thanks for your advice😊
  16. Hello everyone, I have a Fuji X-E1 and an Fuji XF 35 mm f/2 R WR lens. I am so happy with my lens especially with the portraits. But I want to buy a new lens for other needs. With this lens I want to focus more documentary and street photography. Plus, I would like to take portraits with a little bit wider angle. After a while I will buy a new body also (probably a X-T2). In the view of such information which lens would you suggest? My options: Samyang 12mm f/2 Fuji XF 18mm f/2 Fuji XF 23 mm f/2 I am open for other suggestions too. Extra: What do you think about 7artians lenses? Do you have any experience with them? Thank you all already for all your helps!

  18. I’ve purchased 7artisans 50mm F1.8 lens three weeks ago directly from eBay 7artisans store. Here's my short review on this lens: Lens Review – 7artisans 50mm F1.8 (FX Mount)
  19. Do you know what is happening with the proposed XF 8-16mm lens? It’s still on the roadmap for about February and we’re now in May.
  20. Question for all the stage and theater shooters out there. I've been using my XT2 and 18-55 to shot my theater work and am thinking about getting the 16-55. Will it be worth it? Seeing that the 16-55 will not have OIS and the 18-55 does. My typical stage shots are set to 1/60s-1/120s at iso1600 or 800 if I am lucky with the lights, and the 18-55 usually wide opened. Am I going to get any sharpness advantage with the 16-55? Yes, I can get the new XH1 but the size and price of that camera do not agree with me. Also, I do not shoot video at all so even less of an incentive for me to get the camera. Any input from professional shooters out there who does stage work with Fuji is greatly appreciated. Thank you! Attached is a typical stage shot that I do.
  21. I would like to start the campaign for a new XF23mm f1.4 WR lens. The original 23mm is my most used lens, by a mile. But I seem to have managed to damage it with rain and snow, while shooting on the south coast this last week. It now has a watermark across one of the internal elements. While I understand there is the f2.0 WR version, in my opinion it is not as good as the f1.4. So Fuji, please could you update this excellent lens to include weather resistance
  22. Hi all, I've encountered this problem with a XF55-200 lens where one of the internal element is scratched. The scratch is only visible when you point the lens towards the light and looking through the rear element. It does not show up in the final image taken. The scratches are in a zig-zag pattern. I would like to add that the zoom ring on the lens feels a little stiff but usable. And the lens had only been used 3 times. My questions are, how did the scratches get there and could a stiff zoom ring caused the scratch? Hopefully, fellow fuji X user / fuji expert can help me discover the answer to this.

  24. Hi fellow Fuji users. Have any of you been to Thailand? I'm going late October and trying to decide on what camera and lenses to take. I have an X-pro2 and X100T, my lens choice is 18mm f2 23mm f2 27mm pancake f2.8 35mm f2 35mm f1.4 56mm f1.2 18-55 zoom WLC for X100 I also love using old nice glass takumar 55 f1.7 Ziess 135mm f3.5 Nikkor 105mm f2.5 Having never been to Thailand before I dont know the light and a bit concerned about too much light for wide apature's. Part of me says take the X100T with a polarising filter and be done with it. Less to worry about, get stolen/lost. The wildlife looks great though so a longer reach would be good Please help. Many thanks Jim
  25. Hi, I have a Fujinon 16mm f1.4 lens which had what looked like dust on the rear element. I sent it in on June 20 (received June 27) into Fuji Repair Canada in Mississauga. Pretty much after talking to support they thought it would take till July 26. Now I contact them and they are now quoting the week of August 7. Just wanted to get the community feedback on what my expectations should be. Thanks Randy
