  1. Conditions: XT-2 firmware 4.40, battery grip, Godox V860 and remote, tethered to Lightroom Classic v13.1 through Fujifilm app, Macbook Pro Ventura 13.6. The camera has started to "hang" after a few shots. By this I mean that the screen goes grey and the camera won't turn off or on. I've tried re-setting the firmware but that doesn't appear to make a difference. The problem appears to be related to when I'm using the flash. It doesn't arise with the same variables but using studio lights. To restart the camera, I had to remove the battery from the camera. After a few shots, the camera hung again. Finally I had to disconnect the camera from the laptop and remove the battery grip. I'd appreciate any thoughts or suggestions on how to resolve this. Thanks in advance, Bronwyn
  2. Hello everyone! I'm looking to purchase a flash for my son artwork photography on a budget. The idea is to take pictures at home (any ideas welcome too) of all his draws and then print them in a book. Any recommendations or suggestions for a good quality yet affordable option? I have an XT-4 with 16mm, 27mm, 18-55mm and 55-200mm. Thank you in advance!
  3. Hi, I am using my XT3 with the EF-X8 flash using a non-Fuji lens in TTL mode: ISO 800 f5.6, shutter speed on A. The pictures come out fine but the shutter speed is only 1/60 sec. I read in the internet that the XT3 can take pictures with flash at 1/250 sec. What adjustments do I have to make to be able to take pictures with flash at 1/250 sec? Thanks
  4. I'm trying to shoot with flash using a Godox 2.4GHz pair & strobe lights I've successfully used before; however, my only options in my flash menu settings are Manual & OFF. The button on the transmitter works with the receiver, but trying to use flash with the X-T4 has been unsuccessful. Are there any other settings that need to be enabled so it recognizes TTL/my hot shoe mount?
  5. The EF-X8 Flash with XT3 can be used as commander to trigger off camera flash. The manual and Flash selling official websites say that. The settings or procedure is nowhere explained. Can somebody please explain.
  6. GFX 50S. Hello, I'm trying to use my Metz 45CT plugged into the PC socket. I have the settings right but the flash is being triggered twice on every shot! Front Curtin mechanical shutter. Mode set to manual. Why is it triggering twice? Once on shutter release then one as it closes...? Got me totally beaten.
  7. Hi all. Your assistance / advice will be greatly appreciated. I use an XT3, and acquired the Godox 350 and Godox X1T remote trigger. For some reason, the remote trigger will not fire the flash off-camera. The following may be relevant: When I have both the remote trigger and the flash off the camera, the test button on the remote trigger does fire the flash. When the flash is on the camera, I works perfectly in all modes. When the remote trigger is on the camera, it fires the flash when I press the test button on the remote trigger When I press the shutter it does NOT fire the flash. When the remote trigger is on the camera, the only flash setting available are Off and Manual. From the above, it would seem to me tat both the flash and the remote trigger in fact work, but that either: The remote trigger is not compatible with the XT3; OR There is some setting on the XT3 that I need to adjust. Any thoughts or experience with this equipment? Regards and take care.
  8. Hi all, I have an issue with triggering off camera flash since I updated the FW of my X-T3 to version 3.20. The flash is only being triggered about 8 out of 10 times, which is very distracting and annoying. I tried with two different flash brands (GODOX trigger + flash, Elinchrom trigger + flash) and see the same problem. I have used the same set-up for about 30 shootings (at ~1000 shots per shooting) last year and never had this issue. I could now observe it during the two shootings I had after I upgraded to 3.20. The issue doesn't immediately occur. During the first shooting, it happened after about 3 hours. During the second shooting, it happened after about 1 hour. I use the X-T3 with the vertical grip and 3 original NP-W126S batteries. I was suspecting a battery issue during the first shooting and therefore ensured that they were fully charged for the second shooting but it did not solve the issue. Does anyone have experienced a similar issue? Thanks and cheers Fred

  10. When I sold my Canon gear a year ago, the one thing I missed was its outstanding flash capability. On full auto, it rendered consistently balanced, excellent exposures. As a friend put it, "Your flash photos don't look like flash photos." When I went Fuji, I had a brief, disappointing affair with the EF-42. I recently put my X-Pro2, 18-55, and my newish EF-X 500 in the hands of a relative with no experience. Full auto, bounce with diffuser, low white ceiling. I'm pretty impressed with the exposures. Shot RAW processed in LR.
  11. How do I prevent the camera to change the shutterspeed from what I set with the dial? For example, if I set it to 250 for flash photography, why will it internally change it to 320? What am I doing wrong? Why is it overwriting my settings, if I have everything else set manually? I'm baffled.
  12. Hello, for studio work I have Elinchrom D-Lite 4 strobes.. Now I'm looking for outdoor HSS flash system.. I'm really like Elinchroms new deep umbrellas.. Is it worth invest in Nissin i60A strobe units with Air 1 commander? Then I will be able to use mount for umbrella and flash unit...
  13. Hi all! I recently got my new X-T20 and now i´m looking for a suitable flash. After looking around for hours I cannot find any device thats is explicitly declared as fully compatible. I like the nissin i40, Meike MK320 because of the compact size. But I read somewhere that the Meike is not working with the X-T20. Does anybody know any compatible flash? Thanks philippe
  14. Can anyone advise the optimum off-camera flash and triggers that will work with the GFX 50s. I have a Yongnou YN560 TX trigger that will fire an off camera YN 560 speedlight but the speedlight will not work directly on the camera. Any advice or suggestions welcome. Views also welcome on the EF-X500 - will it work and can it trigger the Yongnous in controller mode? Thanks and Regards David
  15. Hi! Im new to this but I'm trying to figure out how to use the modeling light och if it is even possible at this stage. I'm currently using: Godox AD360 II (nikon version) with Godox X1-N trigger (in manual mode). I'm not having issues in general but It would be of great help to use the modeling light function to trigger a burst of flashes to see hos my lights fall on the subject. I have tried to map the "depth-of-field preview" as well as "modeling light" but nothing happens when I bush those buttons. Do I need a designated Fujifilm trigger for this function to work with the flashes? Cheers
  16. Does anyone have this combination and use it? I know 2 EF X-20s used together can be used as Master or Slave. Can an EF X-500 be used as master or slave with an EF X-20. Fuji website states the X-500 will work with the X Pro1, but some features will not. Called Fuji but unable to find which features will not work (possibly RSS) and whether either of the flashes can be a master or slave.
  17. New wireless option for Metz. http://www.metz-mecatech.de/en/lighting/flash-units/accessories/wireless-trigger-wt-1-kit.html
  18. Hi, Long term speaking, I will probably get 2 Cactus RF-60 with Cactus trigger to build an easy to use and portable studio kit, but now, I'm searching for a compact TTL flash that I would bring with me almost everytime, combined with the ultra compact FlashQ triggers for off camera situation. I almost ordered the Meike MK-320 this week, but I noticed that the head can't turn 180 degres.... something I like, especially to be able to bounce the light where I want when using on camera flash. I know some people are using this flash on this forum....do you see an issue with this? I was also looking at Nissin i40, but since we can't do firmware update by our own, it's more subject to stop working (I mean some features) when Fuji is realsing a new body or new firmware. Also, I'm in Canada and it seems difficult to find support for this brand....and it's about 400$ CAD...not cheap. Finally, there is also the upcoming Metz M400 that looks promising. It will cost about the same as the Nissin, but at least, we can do firmware update, and they mention that it will support HSS for Fuji... Is there any other option I'm missing? Which one would you buy? At less than 100$ CAD, the Meike sounds like a no brainer compact and light flash, but if I don't like it, it's worth nothing... Note: I own a X-T1 and plans to update to X-T2 this winter... Thanks
  19. Hi, I've just been on vacation and took my camera with me, during my trip I noticed that my camera started over exposing my shots in a bad way. Even though the light meter indicated that the photo was correctly exposed the photo would come out completely white. After further tests I realised the problem appeared to be on shutter speeds over 500. Thankfully I switch to the electronic shutter and this worked fine allowing me to keep taking photos for the rest of the trip. Having recently come back I also noticed that the camera fails to trigger my flash when directly connected or via a Cactus trigger. I'm going to contact Fuji tomorrow but I'm interested if anyone else has experienced or heard of these problems? Thanks, Steve
  20. Hi, I'm new to Fuji cameras world and this forum, actually new to digital photography. I still use my Canon FD gears and film for photography and i love it but recently all E6 laboratories closed in my area and i need to use digital cameras for color photos (it's hard to find Pro color negatives here). After some research i find a Fuji camera is that i need, a camera that be similar to film cameras in controls and ergonomic. So i purchased a second hand X-E1 to have an experience and if it be good i will go for better cameras like X-t1. I like to use some of my old gears and already i have a FD convert ring for lenses, i just like to know can i use My Canon Speedlite 199A flash in manual mode with Fuji cameras? http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/companies/canon/fdresources/shared/speedlites/199Aflash/index.htm
  21. I bought a Cactus V6 in the hopes of being able to use the delay mode to get a working rear curtain sync with my Fuji X-T1s and X-Pro 2. I'm trying to avoid having to do an optical slave sync. Anyway, with the following set up: X-Pro2, Cactus V6, delay mode set to 990 ms, shutter set to 1 sec, Godox V850 on a Cactus v5 in receiver mode, the flash consistently fires at the beginning of the exposure. The programmed delay seems to be being ignored completely. Has anyone gotten the delay mode to work with a Cactus v6 on a Fuji camera with any set up?
