  1. I bought my X-Pro2 in June, 2016, and I have never updated the firmware. I want to get to the latest firmware. Is the latest version (v5.00, I believe) comprehensive, and upgrade directly to that version, or do I need to load each past firmware version in order and individually? Thanks for any help you can offer! James
  2. Is anyone else really annoyed that the trash icon button can't be assigned a "function button" for use in shooting mode? It makes no sense to me, as it never does anything unless you are in playback. There surely isn't a technical reason why it can't be re-assigned the way the video and d-pad buttons can. I can't think of a good ergonomic reason either, it's not a button I'm hitting by accident (on the X-T10 anyway). Making it customizeable would be super useful and increase the value of the cameras with no downside. Fuji if you're listening please just make it work like it should! (I'd love to put Shutter type or Face Detection on/off there, next to the drive mode dial since they often need to be changed together to get CH+AF-C working together).
  3. So this isn't good. Just upgraded the firmware, and I do a few focus tests. Just focusing on various objects around my desk. Then I get this. I'm not even taking a picture. Anyone getting this? (see attached).
  4. I did a test this morning of the new firmware, using the 16-55 f/2.8 lens. The lighting was very poor and subject was backlit, a situation which used to cause this camera a lot of problems. The camera was in CL mode, auto ISO (varied between 400 and 800), f/2.8, 1/125 shutter and I used the central af point (smallest size) aimed at the school badge. http://sandsphoto.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/backlit-1.jpg http://sandsphoto.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/backlit-2.jpg http://sandsphoto.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/backlit-3.jpg http://sandsphoto.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/backlit-4.jpg http://sandsphoto.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/backlit-5.jpg http://sandsphoto.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/backlit-6.jpg http://sandsphoto.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/backlit-7.jpg http://sandsphoto.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/backlit-8.jpg http://sandsphoto.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/backlit-9.jpg http://sandsphoto.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/backlit-10.jpg http://sandsphoto.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/backlit-11.jpg http://sandsphoto.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/backlit-12.jpg http://sandsphoto.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/backlit-13.jpg http://sandsphoto.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/backlit-14.jpg http://sandsphoto.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/backlit-15.jpg http://sandsphoto.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/backlit-16.jpg You can draw your own conclusions, but I was impressed with the improvement.
  5. I originally wasn't going to update from 3.0 to 3.1 but decided to anyway. Today I tried some longer exposure on a mini tripod, using self-timer. First thing I noticed was that the LCD screen zoomed in randomly without me touching any buttons or dials. I was merely moving tripod a small fraction to centre image. Odd. Then after maybe 6-8 shots I noticed that the self-timer had disengaged. Again, odd. Sure enough when I checked the menu, the timer was off. As you know, it's generally two clicks and a dial turn away to adjust that, unless you turn off the camera and in this case, the camera was not turned off (I was in middle of shooting). My long exposure was through the "T" setting, which I have on my rear command dial. It was around 2 seconds (nothing epic). I wasn't using manual focus, so thus the zoom behaviour is very unusual. Self timer was on 2 seconds (just to avoid shake). I have now reset the camera. Last 3 updates I've had to reset for varied reasons. Anyone else experiencing any unusual behaviour with 3.1? I'll update if problem persists. Assume all OK after reset if I don't comment further.
  6. I checked the entire menu and can't seem to locate the firmware. Any help is appreciated. Thank you
  7. Hello all. i have found several threads on various forums and grops for this issue but mst of them are more than 12months old. I am having some trouble with my X-T3 and I am looking for some help or suggestions. As i have found online this is issue its called “camera locked up” Out of the blue the camera freezes. The LCD would still be showing a live view, but the entire HUD would disappear. The camera would not respond to any buttons being pressed. Even switching it off wouldn’t work. Additionally, the orange LED light is on and not going off or going into green. The only way to recover control was to literally pop the battery out and put it back in. I am shooting on single mode not CL or CH. Compressed RAW and Fine JPEG setup: X-T3 with 18-55 kit lens (less than two months old from my local fuji reseller) Original Fuji battery Latest firmware for both the body and the lens SanDisk 64GB Extreme 90MB/s (picture here. I had it from a 60D canon) I have reset to factory settings tried another lens as well. Reinstalled the latest firmware via SD Card. SD card format on camera. to be honest i have not identify any pattern for the issue. it happens randomly and in various lighting and temperature conditions Any suggestions or possible solutions will be appreciated. Thank you !
  8. Having completed the 24th May firmware update on both my cameras I was looking forward to using their long-awaited new App which I believed would work much better that the old one with my smartphone. And now I'm very sad and extremely disappointed - I cannot even download it from the Google Play Store. It says my phone isn't compatible with it! It's a fairly recent one, with android v10 and yes - the description for the App does say this version is not supported. I've found I cannot update the phone and I'm not about to spend out on a new one so I'll just carry on as before. But I though others on this forum might find my post useful. Simon
  9. Hey guys, after importing the first images to Lightroom (on a Mac running 10.11.2) after the update I noticed a weird behaviour: All RAW images are cropped to 16:9 after import. Changing the crop ratio to "Original" instead of "As Shot" fixes things. It's a small annoyance as it can quickly be fixed for all images but still it is kind of stupid. Has anyone else had that problem? The only thing I could find about it was this post on DPR: http://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/3966021
