Hi everyone, I recently switched from Sony to Fuji and I love it. The issue I'm having is I am unable to setup my SmallHD 502 monitor to connect to my X-T2. I was wondering if anyone else had an issue. I tried different cables, made sure all the firmware are up to date but still no success. I just get a message No Signal. I know that Atomos works but it is a 7inch monitor and I don't need the recording part yet... This is a 5inch monitor with Vectorscope, Peaking, Waveforms and LUT support.. I contacted SmallHD but got a simple not supported answer, which a bit disappointing: From: Tiffany L Brantner Sent: 11/26/2016 Subject: Fuji X-T2 and SmallHD 502 Thomasz, We have heard from maybe 2 other people having the same issue. Until we can test the configuration, we cannot confirm it. But, at this point it seems that the monitor is not compatible with your camera. Hello Fuji guys, I am an amateur looking for camera for any use, but above all, for photos of basketball of my children. Until now had Nikon D4, D750 and Pro lens, and it was fantastic result in all kinds of conditions. Back problems - and age - they made me proceed to Micro 4/3, in particular a OMD-EM1 with their respective pro lens. In relaxed photography i have been very happy, but photography of action and high ISO I am very disappointed. I am thinking to join Fuji community, but can the X-T2 in AF-C compete with DSLR like D750 on indoor sports?. Greetings. Sorry for my very bad English.

Hi From last weekend, taken at the Canada Cup Long Track Speed Skating competition in Québec City. Close to one hundred of the best skaters in Canada were in town for a three day event, the first races in a series of four this season. Shot with a X-T2 and the XF50-140mm with the XF1.4TC, AFC on zone (3x3 grid), on CH at 11 fps with the battery grip on boost. I shot this event twice before, twice in 2015 with my T1..... and I got to say it, I just love my T2 PP in LR 6.7 and the Nik suite for all sharpening and Noise Reduction. Hi, Support of Fuji's compressed raw files has just been added to Rawtherapee 5.0, you can download a build for Windows 64 bits here: https://filebin.net/exoqih33dsopv02q It's preliminary support, in case you encounter problems, feel free to file a bug report on github (read how to write a useful bug report). I did some video shooting for the first time with my X-T2, and the 4K files are really good looking, but unfortunately, the motor for focus on my lens (23mm f/1.4) is so loud that I can hear every little step and jitter it makes over the audio of the scene, even as I'm manually focusing. Does anyone have any thoughts besides "go buy all different lenses for video work" or "Don't focus while shooting"?

I have been waiting for the X-T2 to go on sale as I am going to Italy in May. I always planned to get the booster grip eventually as well, because I enjoy wildlife and sports photography. The sale now going on (I went to Adorama) was great, giving me a savings of $230 on the combo, but they also offered an extra $100 off on any lens with the purchase, which gave me the opportunity to get the new 23mm at a true bargain price as well - plus Adorama threw in a bunch of little extras like a cleaning kit, the Corel suite, a super fast card, etc. Don't know how long it will last. It was still in stock when I ordered, though a similar package was out of stock at B&H. If you have been waiting, now is the time.

I've been using the new Iridient Converter for Windows(beta 1) and i'm quite impressed with the results, eventhough it's a beta version that needs improvements.The converter ,as you already know, makes the raf files to dng.Until now, i usually choose low or disable sharpening on the converter to avoid artifacts and sometimes on Lightroom as well (or sharpening between 5 - 15) and the images look better than editing RAFs .The beta version seams to crop a bit the pictures ,but it's good alternate for editing raw files.Any other impressions or suggestions?

Hi Fuji users, I've been having an issue with my X-T2 for about 6 months now. A week after purchasing the camera brand new, the speaker had stopped working. No AF sounds, ES sounds, or sound from video playback. Yesterday, the sound came back for one minute for the first time in 6 months, but it went back to no sound quickly after. I've turned the sound settings on and off, updated to latest firmware, and still no success. The camera has not taken any damage that would cause this issue. Does anyone have suggestions or advice to get sound working again? I really don't want to have the camera serviced especially since I'm in India with warranty for Japan. Thanks!

Hi all! Long time reader and occassional poster here looking for help. I have the X-T2 combined with the 23mm f1.4, and I've just noticed this very small quirk. In full manual mode (aperture, shutter speed and ISO) with exposure preview on, moving the aperture between f1.4 and f1.6 results in no change in the live view exposure, even though I can see the meter change by 1/3 a stop, and the final images from each show a difference. When I move the aperture to A in a way that forces a value of f1.4, I can see that the preview is brighter than when I set it to f1.4, which tells me f1.4 is incorrectly showing me the exposure for f1.6, and not the other way around. Other 1/3-stop transitions in the entire range properly show a change in the exposure preview, as I would expect. Has anyone else noticed this? I can't tell whether it's for this particular combo only, since the X-T2 is my only ILC body and the 23mm is my only f1.4 lens. Thanks in advance!

Setting my X-T2 for overhead shots, I thought I could use the App to control the camera. But with the manual focus switched in, it was still hunting. Has anyone else had experience with this, is there a work around, or should I buy the Adobe tethering Pro plugin and try to control the camera via that?? Frustrating

I took a series of RAW night shots using X-T2, when doing the post processing using Star StaX the end result had an odd pattern. I used Lightroom to do the initial process, saved as full-res jpegs, then ran them through the Star StaX app. The result looked great at first look then discovered this odd vortex looking pattern. It seems to be in the same location in all of the star trail photos that I processed. I've done some research but don't seem to find much information. The only thing that I have found was that it was caused by the lens correction done in Lightroom, however, in Lightroom with my X-T2 the lens correction says "built-in Lens profile applied" and there is no way to get rid of the lens profile. Is this the cause? Can anything be done to get around this problem?

hi, i bought the “FUJIFILM Tether Shooting Plug-in PRO (Mac)” on https://creative.adobe.com/addons/products/16759#.WKv8dRLhDOY. but allthough shown as “installed” on the my add-ons page it basically doesn’t install. no sign in the creative cloud desktop app stream. i am using the newest creative cloud desktop app, the newest lightroom cc (2015) version on mac os 10.10.5. does anyone have an idea how to fix this? any help much appreciated! sthlm -

First, a comparison between X-Transformer's rendering, and straight Lightroom. Settings are exactly the same between the two images. I've always struggled with the weird rendering of detail that I get with my RAF files in Lightroom. I've tried a few different processors to get my fine detail, but they either don't do much to solve the problem (Capture1) or are incredibly cumbersome to use (Photo Ninja) or are not available to me on Windows (Iridient) I recently found X-Transformer (By Iridient) and found that it works more or less perfectly, and lets me keep my Lightroom workflow, so I thought I would share my process for anyone else interested or struggling with the same issues I was. THE METHOD I'm on Windows 10, using Lightroom CC I went and got X-Transformer by Iridient I then set it up to work as a plugin for Lightroom CC Then, in Lightroom, once you find the files you want to work with and get your detail out of, you just choose to edit them in X-Transformer And then put in these settings which strip out the horrible noise reduction and sharpening, and demosaic the data much better than Lightroom. Then, once it's done running through X-Transformer, your image is back in Lightroom as a TIFF that you can treat exactly like your RAF files, except it's got fine detail in it. It's the least cumbersome method I've found so far that gets really really good detail out of your shots, without forcing you to learn a crazy new half-broken editing software. The other program I found that gets this level of detail is Photo Ninja, but it is really difficult to work with, and feels almost like an Alpha for the first version of Lightroom. I don't advise it. Many photographers won't care about the improvement, and that's fine. Fine detail doesn't make or break a photo if the rest of the content/light/processing is good. But for those that want their full 24 megapixels worth of data, this is a great solution without having to give up Lightroom. Disclaimer: I haven't used the brand new CaptureOne which supposedly does very well with RAF files. Links to two full res comparison photos -
My powerful workstation laptop (Lenovo Thinkpad W540) with an i7 processor and 32 gigs of RAM on W10 struggles HARD with my RAF files from my X-T2. Every adjustment lags, and even scrolling down my photos in the Library module is choppy. Hard quick adjustments like spot healing skin or masking adjustments takes multiple seconds per click to see my adjustment show up on the preview, no matter what I do. I've got a 40GB cache, I've turned GPU processing on, and back off, to see if it makes a difference (it doesn't) and nothing I've done seems to make any difference. My drive has 40% free space, I only have about 6000 photos in my catalog, and I back-up and Optimize regularly. In hunting for solutions, I found someone suggesting that I could import all of my photos to a fast external drive, render Smart Previews, then disconnect the drive, and work exclusively with the smart previews, which are supposedly smaller, lighter, and faster to work with, and then when I'm done, re-connect the drive, apply the changes, and export/work in Photoshop from there. Wondering if anyone has any better tips for speeding up Lightroom when working with RAF files, or if anyone has tried the Smart Preview method described above to tell me whether it provides any advantages?

the XT-2 Autofocus seems to have severe issues with certain fine structures. Just spent many frustrating hours: I was actually testing lenses on what i thought makes a perfect object: fine twigs against the sky. Set it on a tripod, with the 10-24. The AF is very inaccurate or erratic, at 24 mm i get many blurry images. Same with the super sharp 35/f2, but smaller differences. (No problems with the 56, thats perfect). Also tested it on the X-T1, kind of the same issues. I might have it repaired/exchanged, and HOPE there's a fix. I'm wondering if maybe the AF System can not "see" fine structures, like fine branches. But it's high contrast against the sky (the rather poor AF on my old Canon 5D2 and 6D never had problems like this). That would mean serious problems with landscape photography...i mean, it's just a usual object. Nothing extreme or difficult for AF. Attached a 100% crop: image to the right is sharp, shot right after the blurry one. I got tons of that erratic sharpness. New firmware, all 135 AF points activated. Single point focus. Looking forward to your opinions/experiences...thanks!

Namaste Fuji people. I recently tried an XPro-2 and loved it so much I bought one, sold all my Nikon equipment and bought an XT-2 and some lenses. I'm traveling India for six weeks with a backpack and small camera bag. I brought both bodies, five batteries, a bunch of cards, four lenses: 16mm f/1.4, 23mm f/2, 35mm f/1.4 and the 56mm f/1.2, a travel tripod, a MacBook Pro and two hard drives. I'm really happy with everything and how all the gear is performing. If anyone has any questions about how the gear is working out, please feel free to ask. I started a website for my trip, the Fuji images are under my blog and in the India image gallery. I'm only a couple of weeks in, but I've figured out my workflows and what setups I like.
