  1. Greetings from Roswell, GA. I've been into photography since the 1960's, Long time Nikon user, just switched to Fuji. I sold some images with the Nikon and have really enjoyed using it. I'm giving it to my son who has a keen interest in photography and a good eye. Thought about getting a full frame Nikon but just could not deal with the size and weight. I've been fascinated with what Fuji is doing to advance digital photography ever since using an original X100 that belonged to a fellow photographer. Decided to make the Fuji jump when I picked up a new, USA legal X-T1 and the 2.8 kit lens (not like any kit lens I've ever seen before, this baby impresses in all respects). The deal seemed to be "too good to be true", got the camera and lens for $899 from B&H. First round of sooc test shots blew me away - bokeh is incredible, as is image quality and the colors are amazing. Camera feels perfect in my hands and this is the nicest piece of kit I've owned in a long time. Could not be happier with my choice. Looking forward to participating here and learning a lot. Here is the first sooc test shot I took in classic chrome, everything else default camera jpeg. I have already bonded with the Fuji!

  3. Hi; This has to be me, but I have the X-T1 connected to a MacBook Pro running Lightroom CC 2015 with all updates. I plug the camera in and seek to import - Camera shows up in Lightroom as "USB PTP Camera" but "No Photos Found". SD card imports directly OK. Is it me? Thanks Bob

  5. I bought a used Fujifilm X-T1 from B&H with a 9+ condition. Knowing that it's a reputable company I am confident that the item was thoroughly checked when they got it from the previous owner. To cut the chase. While I was tinkering with the settings of the cam and how it functions, I was excited to try the wireless transfer feature. Thus, pressing the wifi button to try transfer or control the camera through wifi. But every time I pressed it the camera will just load the screen with the wireless thingie and when the green wireless signal icon flashed it suddenly freezes. Turning the camera off doesn't seem to work and I have to remove the battery to exit from it. Any advice on how to fix this? I'm on the latest firmware, by the way. I assume and hope that it's firmware problem and can get it fixed on the next update.
  6. Please Fuji, would you add the option to set aspect ratio to 5 x 4? It's my favourite format especially for vertical landscape shots. Of course I can crop it in post but it would be nice to be able to compose precisely in 5 x 4 at the time of releasing the shutter.

Although the general light conditions were pretty crappy during our boat trip through Lan Ha Bay (too much sunshine, wrong time of the day), the rays of light that bathed this lonely swimming fisher's hut and gave the corresponding net an impressive glow were pretty beautiful.

Uploading this as a colour test. My uploads so far seem a little off on colour and I'm wondering if something is happening when the forum is re-sizing the images, like stripping out the colour profile!? This is uploaded as 1600 pixels and the others were uploaded at 2000. By the looks of the thumbnail on teh upload it may well be the same...

  11. I've been using a 7D for work quite a bit, and have gotten completely accustomed to camera orientation specific focus points (A single center point in landscape orientation, and then when I rotate the camera to portrait orientation for a portrait, my focus point jumps to the top where I would be putting the face in the frame) With the way that Fuji's (and the X-T1 in particular) have an EVF that literally changes when you rotate the camera, I am so shocked to find that this feature isn't available to us. Shocked to the point where I think I might just be dumb for not knowing how to activate the feature? If it doesn't exist, is there a good way to give it as a suggestion to Fuji?
  12. Does this count? It's a Leica Apo-Televid 77 Spotting scope, SLR Adaptor, T-Mount to Fuji X Adaptor and an X-T1. The telescopes were made for a while and were quite popular, but the adaptors are extremely rare, it took me years to find one! It creates an F10 800mm lens, depth of field is tiny but it shows promise, you can see a test shot on Flickr here https://flic.kr/p/tgKeZb

  16. I have been very happy with the strap I ordered from Gordy's Camera Straps. Here is a link to his site: http://www.gordyscamerastraps.com/ Attached is a photo of my X-T1 with the new strap.
  17. About a year ago I sold all my Canon gear and bought an X100S. I started off shooting in both RAW and JPG, as was my custom with my Canon. I quickly discovered that the JPGs looked as good or better than the raw files, at least when viewed in Lightroom, so I turned to shooting in JPG exclusively. I never changed any of the JPG settings. Now I have acquired an X-T1 with a 18-55mm and a 14mm. I plan to use both cameras but for different situations. I started off shooting just JPG on the X-T1, as was my new habit , but I found that the images didn't seem as sharp as the ones I am getting from the X100S. I then reverted to shooting both RAW and JPG, and it seems to me that the JPGs look a bit soft (less detailed and less sharp) compared to the unedited RAW images, and softer than the JPGs that come straight out of the X100S (same film simulation on both cameras). I am using the default JPG settings on the X-T1. I want the image quality on the X-T1 to be nigh identical to the X100S, which I really like. Is there a difference in the way the two cameras convert to JPG, should I be using other settings, or does this sound like there could be something wrong with my X-T1? Does anyone have any similar experience?

  19. Hello! I'm the happy owner of an X-T1 and XF14mm and I was thinking to buy the XF35mm 1.4 for street photography. I use the XF14mm for architecture and landscape photography, but sometimes I use it for street photography but it's to wide... Maybe XF16mm can be the solution? or is too close for city landscape? And what about XF16-55? Is it sharp as the other 2 lens? Can be a good instead of 2 lens? Thanks fro your opinion!

  21. Hello, I am considering buying a X-T1. Actually, I am convinced about its capabilities and I am already in love with its "look and feel" (I handled it in a store nearby), I only need the stars to be aligned and money to come in my account. I want to ask you a (probably) stupid question: are there any rumours / signs about a new generation of high-end camera from Fujifilm? X-T10 is nice, but a deal braker for me is the lack of mettering dial. Is X-T2 somewhere on the horizont? Thanks!
