  1. Well Ive got to the bottom of this. The XT3 is not the same as other Fiji cameras I have or have owned. There is a little rectangular panel above the card slots Door which has a dedicated socket for remote shutter with a 2.5mm socket. I should have delved into the manual rather than trace solutions on the net and interogate the menus. Hope this helps someone
  2. On my XT30, Movie Menu 4/4 between audio setting and time code setting lies the MIC/REMOTE setting. On my XT3 Movie menu 4/5 between audio setting and timecode setting there is NO MIC/REMOTE setting. Where have FUJI hidden it Anyone using an XT3 with an RR100 remote shutter control ?
  3. Have been using a remote shutter box on my XT30. Its a Product from the far east named "Shoot"an equivalent to the Fuji RR-100. It has worked without issue for some considerable time. Its fitted with a 2.5mm jack for the XT30. I bought a simple 2.5 mm to 3.5mm adaptor so I may use it on my XT-3. It doesnt work - are there any menu items Ive missed that need to be reset ?? I dont remember having to do anything with menus my XT30 and can find no info on Fuji Websites. On researching the Fuji RR-100 remote shutter box, the equivalent of my " Shoot",I get conflicting information regarding the jack on the RR-100. Fuji says its 2.5mm but my XT-3 is well and truely fitted with a 3.5mm socket - no mention of an adaptor unit or cable.. The internal wiring of the "Shoot" remote is simple, switching tip and mid ring to body via a two pressure level switch. Any guidance appreciated
  4. I also have issues with accidentally hitting the Q button. The firmware did not solve the issue since no matter what you make the Q button do you are still going to hit it accidentally. The only fix for me would have to be along the lines of a double click being needed to activate the Q menu. Bottom line its very poor ergonomic design by Fuji- who should know better Spoils an otherwise excellent camera.
  5. Buying a new XT-30 with the enclosed Fuji leaflet on Capture One persuaded me to look at it to compare it against my current Iridient/LR6. I eventually bought the full Fuji version on 13/10/19 at a cost of £129. Last week I received notificaton from Fuji Connect that there was an update to my Capture one software now available. Progressing this I was met with a demand for £109. No discount for being a very recent purchaser. Two months, light use, of Capture one as Im only an amateur for £129. Surely Capture One were well aware when they sold me my version on 13/10 that an upgrade was available. I feel I have been ripped off. I have tried 5 times to contact them via the "Submit a Request" page on their website. I was correctly logged in via my account with them and also tried via the help facility on the actual Capone software on my PC. I cannot get a reply or even an acknowlegment of my request from them. anyone with similar experiences ??
  6. Reading this post caused me to go and check my own XT2 and Grip. Mine worked fine, but checking the possible 'electronic' trouble areas one has to be aware that the electrical contact between the body and the grip is a multipin plug that does not make contact like a normal plug and socket. The plug male ends protruding from the grip are not fixed but spring loaded to allow for any mechanical tolerance issues between both parts when joined together The Female socket on the camera is in fact part of a printed circuit board. Contact between pug and socket relies on low pressure contact between both. Any ' dirt or residue' on the camera board could cause poor or no contact on an individual or multi pin basis which would possibly lead to many of the issues listed. Likewise any issue with the velvet gasket on the grip or sticky male pins could be a problem. Keep the rubber cover on the camera at all times its not mated to the grip. A good quality electronic contact cleaner could be used to wipe the female printed board on the camera but Fuji should recommend this. A good camera or electronic shop may help with this.
