  1. I'd just like the app to work consistently by connecting my camera and iPad.
  2. Wow! One person who doesn't keep boxes! Tom H. bucks the trend!
  3. I've always kept the boxes my camera gear came in, never really questioning why, but thankful I did as it may have improved the value of the equipment when I came to sell it years later. But I'm wondering what others do. Do you keep your camera and lens boxes, or do you discard them? Cheers, Derek
  4. I have a Billingham Hadley Pro for my X-T1 and love it (bought it used on eBay). It was handy as carry on for my recent trip to Canada, holding the following: * X-T1 with 35mm F2 * 16mm * iPad Mini * Passports and papers * A few filters/adapters While in Canada, it was handy as I was able to remove the liner that was holding the camera equipment and use the bag to carry my stuff for the gym (shorts, travel towel, Vibrams, shirt, socks, undies, and toiletries).
  5. I ended up going with a used graphite X-T1. I ran into a tourist who was using the X-T10 and when I asked her how she liked it, she said that she wished she had bought the X-T1 as she's always worried about getting it wet. lol I'd be the same way (a bit of a worrier) so I thought spending the extra bit was worth it. I'm off to Canada tomorrow where I have a new 35mm F2 and 16mm awaiting me at my cousin's (cheaper to buy them over there on sale than here in the UK).
  6. I'm waiting for Formatt-Hitech to come out with Firecrest ND and Grad filters for its 85mm system. I've read good things about the ND filters (especially their 13 and 16 stop filters) and a Fuji X-Photographer I like uses them.
  7. That's why I use the electronic level in my cameras when taking landscapes (and in other instances) as I think I naturally tilt my head ever so slightly, resulting in tilted pics (which I notice when straightening in LR).
  8. Shhhhh. If they knew that, what would they have to complain about? Same goes for the "No 4k Video Club"..nobody's forcing them to shoot in 4k, but they'll complain about it nonetheless.
  9. Frankly, my opinion is "To each their own". If heavy editing in software makes you happy and gives you results you like, awesome! If you want to be a "purist" and use jpg's SOOC and love doing that...awesome! So what is more important? Answer: Whatever makes you happy.
  10. Saw this on eBay: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Fujifilm-XF-35mm-f-2-R-WR-Lens-Black-/162094672475?hash=item25bd986a5b:g:cL8AAOSwbYZXVOYI Seems like someone likes the "relic" look as here is the description of the lens hood: "Also includes a vented lens hood that has been sanded down for that Viet Nam War photographer look (only the third party hood has been sanded - the lens and Fuji accessories are perfect)."
  11. Saw this on eBay and had a wee chuckle: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Fujifilm-XF-35mm-f-2-R-WR-Lens-Black-/162094672475?hash=item25bd986a5b:g:cL8AAOSwbYZXVOYI A quote from the description: "Also includes a vented lens hood that has been sanded down for that Viet Nam War photographer look (only the third party hood has been sanded - the lens and Fuji accessories are perfect)."
  12. I ended up buying a wrist strap from Hard Graft.
  13. Or when they want to tell you why "photo cameras" should never have 4k.
  14. Well said. I'm with you: I believe in punctuality and proper customer service. Looks like I'll be purchasing a leather strap from here in the UK from a company who was prompt in responding to a question I had.
  15. I sent Angelo a message on the weekend about a special request for a wrist strap and haven't heard back from him. I did so after having given up on another Italian maker of wrist straps. Maybe Italians are generally more laid back and take longer to respond (and expect things to take longer arriving when they ship things out). Either way, I think I'll be going with a UK based company at the end of the day.
  16. I ended up buying a used, but in excellent condition, graphite X-T1. While waiting longer would likely result in a better deal, I really wanted it for my trip to Canada this summer. Now to get a couple of lenses. Unfortunately, Fuji UK isn't likely to have the same kind of deal on lenses-only like in the US and Canada, so I'll order the lenses I want (35mm F2 and the 16mm) and have them delivered to my cousin's place (which is where I'm going first).
  17. All I know is that I bought an X-T1 because A) I wanted something more compact, I don't need the latest, fastest, most awesome megapixel camera as an enthusiast, and C) I'm happing to move away from Canon (for good) because I don't feel as though I have a connection with the company or their products. I am curious as to what Canon will be unveiling this year and I do hope they are intent, as they say they are, to become a leader in the mirrorless market because that will push all companies to be even better. But as good as their product may be, I soured on Canon long ago (maybe even before I bought my last 7D but felt tied into them because of the few lenses I owned).
  18. The technology more than justifies the price. <sarcasm> Then again, I am more than willing to pay more for a graphite version of a camera, so I'm really not one to talk. lol D.
  19. Just an FYI Bink: I'm getting a "content not available" for your FB page.
  20. I've posted on these forums before, so I'm not a forum newbie, but I am a newbie to Fuji cameras as I finally pulled the trigger and bought a used X-T1 last night (real good deal on the graphite version as well!). I'm a hobbyist using a Canon 7D and a bunch of zoom lenses. Unfortunately, I just found that I wasn't using my camera as much as I would like, hearing myself make the excuse of "too much gear to carry" and "too heavy to carry around all the time". So I began investigating other options and came across Fuji cameras around a year ago. At first I was wanting the X-Pro 1, but having gotten so use to DSLR's and feeling more comfortable with a camera that had some weather sealing (I live on the coast of Scotland, so rain, wind and dust are a big deal to me...but I know that there are those who say WR isn't needed), I opted for the X-T1. And the graphite X-T1 because it's pretty. There. I said it. I'm off to Canada next month and will need to pick up a lens or two, but I'm waiting first to see what deals (and announcements from Fuji) there are. Definitely getting the silver 35mm F2 (anyone have pics of what silver after-market metal vented hoods look like on this lens?) as I like that focal length and figure that would be a good introduction to primes. The next lens on my radar is the 16mm (I want to stick with WR) for landscapes. If Fuji came out with a smaller, WR, F2 version....well....I'd be all over that! Anyhow, that's me.
  21. I was wondering if anyone has a pic of a silver vented metal hood on the silver 35mm F2? It is hard to tell from the pics on eBay and what not as to weather they are truly silver or grey.
  22. To each their own. I'm with your dad, FujiGlitch, and would be giving you a slap on the head (even though I'm only a few years older than you). I don't necessarily baby my equipment, but I do like keeping it look as new as possible. To a non-Fuji owner - and someone who doesn't know what the camera really is - the beaten up looking X70 will look vintage and well used as per the intent of FujiGlitch. So while we wouldn't be fooled, more than 99% of the public will be. And this is a photography forum. We take pictures that are either seen as good or not good based on a bunch of subjective factors. Like HDR, this camera may not be to everyones taste, but what WE do isn't to everyone's taste either.
