    Torturro reacted to Denali3times in 56mm+two extension tubes...Rapport 1:1?
After intensive testing of coupling the two Fuji extension tubes together with my 56mm, I had to conclude that it's unusable for critical reproduction work. The ratio was really good, allowing framing a little bit larger than the 24x36mm negatives. But the sides and corners were always unsharp, independently of the aperture used. My goal is to «scan» a large quantity of B&W 35mm negatives using my x-Pro2. I now must turn to macro lenses to achieve the near 1:1 ratio with the pro quality I know I can get.

    there are extensive explanations here

As for stupidity I’d say it is a choice and like many choices some will like them and some won’t. You don’t. Most probably the majority does or otherwise it won’t be like this.

No, I don’t use it, I like to think that I am using film and behave as I have always done for years and years.

Chose the ISO for the situation ( and hope for certain results) and then go on until I no longer find it convenient.

The converter simply converts to DNG with the Raw demosaicing. If you go into Lightroom, import the converted DNGs then you can apply the Velvia profile.

Yes. very simple. I upload 500 raf files and get 500 DNG. Thou it takes time. so I do it when I dont need my computer. On my machine (macbook pro 2,16ghz, with 8g ram) it takes approx 1hour for 100 rafs to be converted.

Yeah you can do it in photoshop and with many other tools too. I think Tony Northrup has some tutorials on YouTube for image averaging in PS. Stars are their own problem---you may want a camera that can do astro-tracking for that (i.e. a Pentax) Pretty much all good looking star/milky way shots you see are composites, not single exposures. There are many more techniques involved than just managing noise.

Exactly like I described. If you average the images (and don't have lengthy gaps in time between taking each consecutive shot), the motion blur will be the same, but the noise level (effective ISO) will be much, much lower.

You're going to have this problem with any digital camera. You either need to use the built-in long exposure noise reduction function (assuming you're using the JPEGs) or shoot/apply your own dark frame images if you're processing the RAW files. If you really want the best results, shooting multiple shorter exposures and averaging them will produce better results than one long exposure of the same total duration.

Video quality went from unusable in the X-T1 to fantastic in the X-T2.

We all have different needs and priorities.  Don't forget that.

Dis, it's not only about you, and certainly not about you being paparazzi, try to read in a positive way, trying to understand what others want to say. and it's not about moaners either. It's about how some of us see the best implementation of a function.

This is the one thing I felt a lot of difference when moving from Canon to Fuji.  I always had my Canon on burst mode, but on the Fuji X-E2 it can't be controlled.  On CL it just fires away and I was never able to get it to shoot one shot only on burst, so I gave it up.

Not being able to do one shot in burst mode will keep you from filling up your card unecessarily.  So, if you really need to take more than one shot you change it, otherwise, you just miss the other shots, so...got to be fast on the trigger to shoot that one shot that will work at the right moment.

How nice to hear that  , it was a bit odd to welcome a new member with 3 negative posts about his fuji. I couldn’t help to wonder if you disliked it so much what were you doing with it.

You will forgive me if that looked odd.

the rubber surfaces have had a tough life and are being replaced in most cases without an itch , good luck with it, you are going to have your guaranteed satisfaction, I believe.
