  1. I have the XF 23mm f/1.4R and the XF 90mm f/2. I will be getting the XF 56mm f/1.2R lens by the end of September. My interests range from street to portrait photography, so these lenses make the most sense for me.
  2. I just bought my first Fujinon XF series lens. I went with the XF 23 f/1.4 R, as I plan to start doing some street photography. I have been very happy with this lens, but I want something wider, so I can do landscape work. I have just placed an order for the XF 16mm f/1.4 R WR lens, and believe it will be a great addition. I am trying to keep my system compact, and easy to carry. My third lens choice will be an XF 35 mm f/2 WR lens, and I will order one as soon as it shows up in my area. I will be travelling a lot this summer, and the 16-23-35 mm lens set will work for 90% of what I am currently doing.
  3. I just switched to the Fuji camera system. I have done a fair bit of research, and knew I wanted the XF 23 mm lens as my first non-kit lens. I picked it up today, and I love the optics and how it handles. I will likely end up with at least four prime lenses. I just ordered the new XF 90 mm lens, as I need a short telephoto lens. I will get the XF 14 mm lens next, as its wider-angle will work better for landscapes. I will put a pause on my lens buying at that point, as I need to get a new camera body (I am using an old X-A1 now). Once I get my new camera (replacement for the X-T1), I will order a fourth lens. It will likely be the XF 56 mm f/1.2 R lens. So, my three lens combination will be the 14-23-90mm XF lenses. The 56 mm f/1.2 (NOT APD version) will fill in the gap between the 23 mm and 90 mm lenses.
  4. An XT-10 is surely the more popular option, but I wanted a stick with a rangefinder stye camera body. I originally inquired about an X-Pro1 camera body, but the store was was sold out. The store employeeI spoke with at the Vancouver store put me on to the X-E2 kit last week. It just fit my budget, and gave me a more complete package than I would have otherwise been able to afford. As I was switching from Nikon to Fuji, that was an important consideration. I am not sure why Fuji isn't listing these kits on their fall savings promo, but perhaps it is because of limited quantities (the store employee said he only had two kits in stock). I can see why there would be no advantage to ordering this kit from another country, but the deal for me was local, from a store I trusted.
  5. Love the photos. I was particularly fond of the middle one. Was that B&W done in camera, or did you use a software program to convert it?
  6. The new 4.00 firmware is now available for the X-E2. I don't know what is in it at the moment, but I have an new X-E2 camera kit on the way, and will make a list of its current firmware features before updating it and comparing it. Note this camera is now available in kit form at a great price ($1200 CAD with both kit lenses, vertical grip, EF20 flash, spare battery, and case). This is not Fuji is advertising; I found out about it from my local camera shop (www.lensandshutter.com).
  7. Hello. My name is Kendra. I live in Kelowna, BC. I have been involved with photography for about 7 years, and enjoy getting out on long hikes with my camera. My old system was starting to wear me down (Nikon DSLR), so I decided to look for a new mirrorless alternative. I looked at the new Sony A7 line of cameras, but thought they were overpriced. I spent some time with a used Fuji X-A1, to see if I could get used to the way Fuji X cameras work. I liked the way the X-A1 generally worked, but with no viewfinder, it was a bit of a pain to use. It worked well enough to convince me the Fuji X system was what I wanted to invest in. I just placed an order for a new Fuji X-E2 camera kit. It comes with everything I need to get started: body, XC 16-50mm and XC50-230mm lenses, an EF20 flash, vertical grip, spare battery, and leather case. It currently sells for just $1,200 (Canadian). It should arrive this week. i have been interested in street photography for a while now, but my Nikon D610 with 24-70mm lens was not exactly stealthy. My new Fuji camera will be a much better option, particularly once I get a XF23m f/1.4 lens to put on it. I look forward to connecting with people on this forum, and to learning how to get the most from my new equipment. Fuji products clearly have a lot of support, both from other Fuji X photographers and from Fuji itself. I note Fuji has just released a new version 4.00 firmware for the EX-2 camera, and I look forward to seeing what it adds.
