  1. I'm not really bothered about speed but i must say the 90 is very quick, I think its fitted with a different type of motor.
  2. Making a lens faster shifts the best aperture to the wide open end no good if you want large DOF for landscapes. I use two lenses, a 10-24 mainly used at f8 to f13 and a 90 used wide open. Unlike most members who like 23-35-56 they just don't do it for me any more. I expect using a Olympus OM10 with a 50mm for 15 years done me in.
  3. I read somewhere that the 10-24 at f4 with OIS was a match for hand holding compared with the 16mm at 1.4 but at these apertures the zoom had better IQ. I use the 10-24 and my wife has the 16, they are both great lenses but very rarely use them wide open mainly using f8 to f11 for landscape work. If you want compact the 16mm is the one.
  4. The X-T1 is fine as it stands but a upgraded EVF with more pixels would be more important than a sensor change for me.
  5. The problem of making such a good standard 18-55 zoom higher or pro versions can struggle to improve. Canons cheap 18-55 starter lens is a cracker for the money and next lens up [17-85] is hardly better.
  6. I think the 90mm review showed what we already knew. My one has been stuck on my XT1 since I bought it.
