Perhaps the next firmware upgrade could give us more informative error messages to reduce the number of complaints?
'Face detected, but I focussed on the background as I thought it was more interesting than your Aunt'
'I've not locked up, I just think you need to put the camera down for 10 minutes and rejoin the real world'
'I massively over-exposed that one for a laugh'
More seriously - I'm also thinking about the X-T2, but I think the more sophisticated the camera, the more issues it seems to have. My X-M1 is trouble free, despite serious abuse as a daily travel camera, my X-E2 has some issues, and from what I've heard the X-T2 has more. Don't think I'll wait for the X-T3 as there seems to be a trend here.

JamesD reacted to GilBarib in X-T2: Long Track Speed Skating
Hi
From last weekend, taken at the Canada Cup Long Track Speed Skating competition in Québec City.
Close to one hundred of the best skaters in Canada were in town for a three day event, the first races in a series of four this season.
Shot with a X-T2 and the XF50-140mm with the XF1.4TC, AFC on zone (3x3 grid), on CH at 11 fps with the battery grip on boost.
I shot this event twice before, twice in 2015 with my T1..... and I got to say it, I just love my T2
PP in LR 6.7 and the Nik suite for all sharpening and Noise Reduction.
For those of you who would like to see more here is a link to the Flickr album: https://flic.kr/s/aHskHye7Vf
Thanks

For me, it's the controls. I hate the locking buttons on the dials, and until last week I felt the same way about the 4 way controller. Sugru solved that problem. I also want the thumb stick for AF point control. I have grand kids and the X-T1 has a hard time keeping up with them in a dim interior setting. (except for the baby and I've only got a few months left where I can count on her staying put.)

Just buy the damn thing. You know you want it.

The only problem with your thesis is that when you get right down to it, I don't need any camera at all. I do want a camera however, and am fortunate to be able to afford what I want.

To each their own, as it should be. I'm enthusiastically upgrading from my X-T1 for the following reasons:
Dual card slots High quality video USB charging Because I can afford to and already have all the Fuji lens I want These factors make a world of difference on long-distance backpacking trips: instant data backups, 1 lightweight camera that can do both stills & video, and I can recharge in the field from a USB battery pack.
I am not expecting much increase in still image quality and I rarely use C-AF, so I don't care if it's not as good as hyped. I'm actually hoping that the face recognition has been improved, and I don't mind that it still used CDAF.
Many others will have priorities different from mine. That's fine. Buy the camera that meets your needs.
However, good luck with that Sony glass lineup. Yikes. :-)

Wow....I kinda prefer the uncorrected version. The corrected one just makes me dizzy!

Hi folks,
What a weekend! Spring is already here in Spain! I've been shooting stunning pictures of birds, especially of European bee-eaters during migration in Spain.

Keeping the box allows one to have somewhere to put all the bits that come with modern cameras.

Snowy Owl taken with the fuji xt1 and 55-200 handheld. I didn't think that I would still be able to get these sorts of flight shots after giving up my canon 5d mark111 and canon glass but as this picture shows it is still possible although more challenging. This photo was taken just outside Winnipeg in Manitoba.

Hi All,
my first posting here, since leaving m43 and later Sony. Wanted a good zoom and 16+ megapixel setup, so I can not wait for the XT-2. For now the 100-400 is coupled with the XT-1. Had a wonderful time in the coastal area in Holland, waterleidingduinen it is called.
