I've stopped following the camera news basically ... when my X-PRO1 or X-T1 break, I will look around again for what's hot then.

Perfectly happy with the 16MP cameras here ... less happy with the time I currently have to process my photos :-(

Definitely the 35/1.4 would be among them. I took photos at an event last week, and like always, I was amazed at the quality of that lens.

I was quite indifferent to IBIS until I started to use old MF lenses. 150-200mm without OIS in low light may drive you crazy. Yesterday I tried to handle Rokkor 100mm f4 Macro (1:1) and wished I've got this feature.

I have the 18-135 as a travel zoom on my X-T1. It is convenient, but not really good. Not terribly bad either.
For my next trip I only take two primes with me. For a "once in a lifetime" trip I would definitely not use the 18-135.

The photos from Stockholm were made with the 18-135:

I believe the problem is compounded by the fact that:

I discharge and charge these batteries a lot....I mean a lot!

However, some may sit in my pocket/bag for a week or two before they end up getting placed back in the camera (at random)...so right off the bat some of my 13 batteries may at any one time have partially discharged?

I have nothing but original Fuji batteries, but they vary in age considerably, as I have been shooting Fuji since the X-Pro1 came out.

No doubt some of my batteries are getting to the end of their life....I know there is a finite number of charges and discharges etc.

It's a fantastic system in most regards...and unless you have marathon sessions away from power sources, it's not as big a concern...but for the narrow group of folks who need real battery endurance it's something to keep in mind.

johant got a reaction from Curiojo in Fuji 18mm F2 thoughts?
My 2/18 on the X-Pro1 is clearly better than the Canon 1.8/28 (same FOV on the 5D) that I had. Yes, the other Fuji primes that I have are optically better, and no, I'm not really bothered by that. In many cases, the action is not going on at the extreme edges of the image, and I like the images this lens produces.

    What a stupid answer [emoji6]
Why would you not use the proper tool for the situation? In this case, MF for landscape and scenic photography?

I am not in the market for a X-T2 anyway, by the way, but if I wanted to focus on such fine tree structures, then I would not trust the AF (especially with the fine MF aids that the X-T cameras provide).

Why would you use autofocus with such static structures? It's not like those trees (or most trees actually) would suddenly start to run off.

    I only have a Gen.1 and Gen.2 Fuji X camera (X-Pro1 + X-T1), but I mostly use manual focus in such situations.

After a few weeks of contemplation, I have decided to replace my X-T20 with the new X-E3 as my travel system camera. While I miss the tilting screen of the T20, I prefer the speed and convenience of the E3's focus stick. All things considered, I'm faster with it, and I'm used to working with it from my X-Pro2, X-T2, X100F and GFX 50S. Unlike the tilt screen, the stick it something I use with pretty much every shot, so I benefit from it all the time.

I also like the superior firmware of the E3, because it includes all those improvements from the two recent X-T2 firmware updates, such as an AF ALL mode, a super-small AF frame, putting ISO on a command dial, up to 15 minutes of T exposure time, separate Shutter-AE/AF settings for AF-S and AF-C, etc. etc.

Finally, there are the color histogram with live overexposure warning blinkies that I use all the time in my GFX, and the much faster/better AF tracking algo (which will only come to the T2 in November and who knows when to the T20). Price is identical with the X-T20, so the E3 it is.

If you put an adress, here www.fuji-x-forum.com, in the hosts file and divert it to 127.0.0.1 the browser, or any other program, will look for that IP-adress. 127.0.0.1 is your computer so you will not find any fuji forum. It is you own computers DNS server. I.e you will block that site.
