  1. I think what are selling like hotcakes are the film packs. Like printer ink and razor blades, once you buy an Instax camera, you'd buy a LOT of Instax film. A printer for the Wide format Instax that could communicate with X-system cameras via USB or WiFi would add a lot of film sales. Photographers could use the full capability of the X-system. The Instax Wide 300, for example, has an F14 (F-fourteen!) lens and shutter speeds of 1/64-1/200 for a film rated at ISO 800. Think what the X-system cameras could do for Instax film sales.
  2. Antony I also would like to see an Instax Share Wide printer, and would value a USB cable connection for use with older Fuji bodies (and maybe non-Fuji, non-WiFi bodies). I'd like to give thank-you prints to subjects I meet at events. After much searching, the Instax Share seems to be the best portable printer out there in terms of size, battery life, consumables, image quality and operation.
  3. On the Q: this from a recent facebook post by Peter Turnley: "...I don't often speak about cameras, but think it could be useful to pass along that I had in my hand the new Leica Q camera which has autofocus with a 28mm F1.7 lens, and I think this may be a game changing camera for many street photographers. © Peter Turnley, June 15, 2015..." On the price of the Q and Leicas in general: I'll be sticking to my XE-1 and XF 18 f2. BUT considering what people spend on other hobbies, $4-5K isn't crazy - just a matter of priority, when you consider what can be spent on golf equipment, bass boats, motorcycles (guilty), mountain bikes, antiques, or our other "addictions."
  4. Fuji had a strong partnership with Hasselblad 15 years ago. Collaborating in the design of the Hassy H-series cameras, and designing the lenses for same. I think Fuji manufactured the first H-series Hasselblads, most or all of the lenses of that period, and even marketed their own (Fujifilm) auto-focus version of the H-series known as the GX645AF. So a MF Fuji with a mount giving access to 60 years of Hassy lenses? OMG.
  5. From their previous medium format lines, they should have some good designs for glass already in-hand...
  6. Patrick: I love the Fuji Rumors site and appreciate all the work you do, the research and community-building you have invested to support accurate and timely information that is truly helpful. I imagine a huge number of us have been able to make better-informed investments in our equipment because of your work. I believe the naming issue has a simpler basis than many of the pejorative views that others here have suggested. It should be about this site's existing, great brand identity. Your work has a widely-recognized and unique association as a respected rumor site - an identity you would do well to leverage. The downside is simply confusion among potential new and existing readers. I was greatly confused, thinking this was merger of both sites. Build on what the web looks to you for. I understand your partner may feel justification in having prior-history with the domain name. An obscure history, however accurate, is a poor substitute for a site known for looking to the future. Last suggestion: since this site is so much about turnover in the product, a forum category for used equipment could do very well. Frankly, it's the only reason I visit some other well-known Fuji sites. I will always prefer buying and selling with other brand enthusiasts. Whatever the outcome, I will be a loyal follower. Best wishes from all of us out here!
