hrk got a reaction from Pahana in How do you press the video record button?
You need to hold it down to get it to start recording. This is what caught me offguard when i first tried using it.
I echo others though as I would much rather use this as a FN button for something useful to me.

If i wanted video I would have bought a video camera

If I want to learn how to take pictures of my kids with professional DSLRs and pop-up flash then by all means I am checking out his site.   For all else I will avoid it like the plague.

me too. A. I was wary at first but I'm sure it will be fine.

Either that or a mass recall in the future...

Mine does make a load of crazy noises, almost like a fax machine. Also makes like a triple click when you turn it on as well.
    Still doesn't worry me.

The bokeh on the sample pics I saw for the 50-140 put me off buying it. Some of the examples made me feel dizzy. I had the money in the bank ready to go.

I have just got the 90mm, the images really pop out the frame and I can really see how this is going to become my 2nd favourite lens (after the 35mm)

I always leave auto ISO on set to 6400 max (I would rather take grainy and sharp than lower ISO and blurred), unless I have flash on of course.
Auto ISO is even more useful now that the exposure compensation can be used since FW4

I have 3, EX-PRO batteries and they are as good as the originals (so far...)
They do a white version which are meant to be better too with surge protect and things.

Surely by doing that you are converting all your RAWs to TIFF and losing a lot of the benefits or using RAW in the first place?

I have the 56, and the 90mm will be mine!

I see the 90mm as being more of a sneaky candid lens for receptions and so on.

I'm using the Godox system for manual grouped flashes and its fantastic. Very good value for money.

If an update improves the X-E2 AF I think I will keep that rather than trade it in, to be honest I'm beginning to prefer the feel of it to my X-T1!

Milandro your right Fuji can't keep updating old models.

But the X-E2 is not an old model. Its older than the X-T1 and 10 but I think that is an unfair comparison. It is the newest ILC rangefinder style camera in the line up and therefore I believe it should be kept current until the X-E3 drops or at the very least until the X-Pro2 drops although owners of the X-E2 are unlikely to be the demographic that will buy X-Pro2, but I will allow it for now.

I don't believe that the X-E3 is coming soon, they will release X-Pro 2 first and then allow that to bed in and review market response to it before dropping the X-E3.
The harsh reality is that the success of the X-T1 means that it may well be that we get an X-T2 before the X-E3.

It would make sense drop X-Pro2 with 24MP sensor new processor and 4k Rangefinders crowd are happy.

Drop X-T2 with same sensor and 4k SLR crowd are happy.

Then follow with X-E3 and XT20

This is a sensible release path that will probably make fuji the most money from there new tech. The problem is it will leave X-E2 owners a little in the cold. WHich is why Fuji awesome company that they are will drop F4.0 on the X-E2

As mentioned its sensible. IF they do this I will stick with X-E2 buy some more glass and wait for X-E3 and be content in that wait.

If they did'nt it would be well okay I have to buy an SLR style body now to improve my options. Hmm maybe that Sonay A6xxx that coming out might be worth a look as it already has better focus and good video. Granted the glass sucks in comarison to Fuji and the reality is that I am not going to do that, but people may be tempted.

hrk got a reaction from Aswald in Lens: XF14mm or XF16mm or XF16-55... hard question...
    Hi,
The first lens I got for fuji was the 35. My plan was to sell it when the 16-55 came out. After using it for a while there is no way I would part with it.
The 16-55 is incredibly sharp, but it just doesnt seem to have the "magic" of my old canon 24-70 lens, and also feels a bit slow now that I am used to 1.4 and also the 56 1.2.

I still always have it with me, but will only use it when I need to quickly change distances, otherwise its 35 of 56 all the way.
