    Hello Warren,
     
    Did you get this issue fixed under warranty? I'm having a similar issue, and both Fujifilm and the camera store are unwilling to fix it under warranty, even though the camera is only 10 months old and has always been handled with great care. I strongly feel this is a design flaw in the way the on-off switch collar is attached to the body. I have used several Fujifilm X cameras and this is the first one to have such quality issues.

    The AF-L button on my X-T1 always works, no matter if the focus mode switch on the front of the camera is set to S C or M. But you have to keep it pressed if the switch is set to S or C to prevent the half-pressed shutter button from refocusing.
     
    So to the OP:
     
    You can choose single point AF (relocateable over the whole frame and resizable)
    You can set the AF-L button mode to AF-C in the menu
    When you set the focus mode switch on the front of your camera to "M", the focus function is removed from half-pressing the shutter, so only the AF-L button engages focusing.

    Yep. Fujifilm's senior product planner even confirmed in a recent interview that the X mount is not compatible with IBIS:
