  1. I'm using Yongnuo flashes and triggers. I don't think I've tried to max the sync speed yet, but I've had no issues with them firing using them from about 1/160 and slower. I am using the NIKON versions of the 603 triggers as well as sometimes their controller that adjusts the power/zoom of the flashes. So I wonder if it's some issue between the Canon version or if your hotshoe is just defective???
  2. I have had issues with the Xpro2 and the 56mm as well. Most of the time it hits...but there have been quite a few times where it misses quite a bit in good light, where I don't feel it ever missed on the XT1. On a Facebook group there was another user with similar issues...I wonder if Fuji will need to update the firmware for the lens soon...hopefully...
  3. These delays are super annoying. They keep saying it's because of high demand, but why wouldn't they just ship out the ones that are ready to those that preordered early on? I love my XT1, but the Xpro2 has some nice advantages I'm planning on using at weddings this year. hurry up Fuji!!!
  4. I would suggest getting a used xt1...but wait until the xpro2 is actually shipping. The xt1 is a lot more straight forward to use vs the x100t. I love the x100t but find it can still be a little quirky. The XT1 is still a very capable camera and the main reason I will be switching to the xpro2 is the dual card slots. I know I will have 2 used XT1s available once I actually get the xpro2 and I'm guessing the used price will be worth the wait for you. You could prob save enough money buying a used one to get a nice lens with it
  5. I didn't get any write errors when I tried some lexar 1000x cards...but when viewing the images the camera was a lot slower and often would freeze for a few moments...then I could view a few images...then freeze for a bit. This happened on both my XT1 bodies.
  6. After easing myself into the Fuji world...I finally shot a wedding last week completely with my Fuji setup. I still brought one of my Nikon bodies just incase...but the fujis held up great throughout the day! My setup was 2x X-T1 Rokinon 12mm 23mm 1.4 35mm 1.4 56mm 1.2 90mm 2.0 The majority of the day was shot with the 23mm on one body and the 56mm on the other. For the ceremony I would occasionally switch from the 56 to the 90 and for the open dancing I just have the 12mm on. I'm getting used to the 23mm/56mm focal lengths. Over the last couple of years I've been using full frame DSLRs with a 50mm being my main lens. Not sure why, but the 23/56 combo feels great for me now where the 35/85 combo on a Full frame didn't.
  7. I haven't experienced any problems with this that are any worse than what Canon and Nikon do. Maybe technical data will say that a DSLR can handle backlit focusing better...but I've shot on the 5d3, Nikon d750, and now on the X-T1 and feel they all do about the same in backlit situations. In most situations, I feel like the Fuji does just as well as the 5D3 does, but not as snappy as the D750.
  8. To answer what I think Shane was getting at...So far I've preferred AF-S with the low burst. I've tried the continuous focusing mode but it was a little hit and miss. I've only shot a couple of processionals with the fuji set up, but in decent light single focus worked fine for me. I usually have two bodies on me...18mm and 35mm...or 23mm and 56mm...just depends a little on the venue. I know with the AF-C focusing mode it's best to keep it to the 9 AF points in the center and do either the low or high burst mode. The last one I shot with a x100t in AF-C and the x-t1 with the 35mm on AF-S. I wasn't super familiar with the x100t and found it best to set everything manual on it. For me when it was in Aperture priority or auto ISO, it made odd choices. It did fine in AF-C and low burst in good light. The XT1 did great as well. I've shot on Nikon and Canon...while Nikon has the better AF speed and accuracy overall, I feel like the fuji does just as good as when I was shooting on the Canon 5d MarkIII. Have fun, try to anticipate what's going to happen next, and have a lot of extra batteries.
  9. My name is Leif and I'm a wedding and portrait photographer based in north San Diego, California. I've shot with Nikon and Canon over the last 6+ years but have been slowly transitioning to Fuji. There are definitely things I still love about my Nikon setup...but the Fuji system has been so much fun to shoot with. Most of my recent portrait sessions have been with the fuji and my last wedding was 95% fuji. My plan is to move to Fuji for all my wedding and portrait work...only really using the nikon stuff for video and some architecture projects. Looking forward to being more involved in the Fuji Community!
  10. I'm fairly new to Fujifilm. I originally had an old x100 but it was too quirky for me...but fuji was still intriguing to me. A couple of months ago I bought a used X-T1 and fell in love. It just makes shooting more fun for me. I started on Nikon, switched to Canon, switched back to the Nikon D750 last year...and now find myself switching over to Fuji for stills. I've been slowing phasing the Fuji into my weddings...the last wedding I shot was probably 95% fuji except for the few dancing shots I used a flash for. Really, my only hesitation has been the luxury of the D750 having dual card slots. While I've yet to have one fail, it only takes one to ruin a good chunk of a wedding. Anyways, for my next wedding, I'll take my nikon stuff just in case...but plan on using Fuji all day. Here's my gear... 2x X-t1 Rokinon 12mm 18mm f/2 23mm f/1.4 35mm 1.4 56mm 1.2 90mm f/2 I just got a yongnuo flash/trigger set to handle my reception lighting...might even pick up a 2nd flash The last wedding I shot with a x100t and a X-T1 mostly with the 56mm lens on it. While I really like the x100t, I sold it for another x-t1 because I like having my two cameras set up the same. The difference between the two were enough to cause me to fumble within the menu a few times. So this wedding I'll shoot primarily with the 23mm and 56mm...and use the 90mm during the ceremony
