I don't see why all the hate? I have an X-E3 and I love its size! It feels like a X100 (and I have had the X100 and X100s) but with interchangeable lenses which is awesome! I also have (until I decide to sell it) the X-T1 and my daughter still has my old X-E1 which she loves. I had an X-Pro 1 many years ago (in camera years that is..) and it was lovely to use but quite a hunk to handle and got far too much attention from people for its looks!

I don't miss a flippy screen and the joystick is soooo much easier to use than a D pad, even the touch screen is OK although I rarely use it to be honest as the joystick is much simpler to me.

It does want you to take the camera out far more than my X-T1 ever did and the X100 was far to slow to ever catch a portrait of a child in motion and the X100s did little to improve on the speed. I never use flash so don't miss that either.

The eyecup could be bigger or interchangeable and apart from the poor Bluetooth implementation I don't have any complaints so far.

Lastly, I have read comments about the build quality but don't see any problems at all, it looks and feels well made and not plasticky unlike the X-A's and X-M. The new Leica CL looks far worse IMHO.

I had the X-E2S (which I wasn't completely happy with) and the X100T which I loved and hated. As part of the Fuji cash back period I had some plans to get an X100F and an X-E3 (which I would swap for an X-T2 if I wasn't happy). I was unsure how the touch screen would go but I knew the joystick was critical.

Having used the X-E3 since it's release as I was lucky enough to get one of the first ones, I can honestly say I'm sold, and not only am I not bothering to get the X100F, I'm actually selling my X100T because I simply don't need it.

It's not perfect, but it's pretty damn good.

I am in love with the new xe-3. Don’t care about ibis or tilt , I had an xt-2 and sold it, xe-3 is about size, if you want tech buy the higher end models. The xe rangefinder style and size inspires me to take more pictures and grab my camera more, no LEICA had a flip screen.....

Long press on MENU/OK button will lock D-Pad and some other buttons.
It's a standard feature from Fuji exactly to prevent of accidentally hitting.
Described in manual, somewhere in beginning.

Without having the camera in hand, its hard to judge how well it works, but imo the fujifilm engineers did something which was much needed: prune away some buttons. Especially with the e3 being smaller and the joystick added, all those buttons are starting to clutter up the back of the camera. Viewed in that light, the touch screen is not a trendy feature, but a replacement to still be able to use the extra functionality those buttons enabled (essentially, moving the buttons into the screen). Just because it is `trendy', it doesn't mean that this solution is bad.

Another way to see it is relating to the XPRO2 in the same way that the XT20 relates to the XT2. Which is to say, smaller and lighter with some high-tech features.

@fleckintosh and @Ario: The result is awesome! Thanks a lot!

I compared these film simulations with the C1 Extended Filmstyle Set. The result is much more subtle and much better aligned to the JPEGs straight from the camera. I definitively recommend using these styles, not the ones from C1.

The procedure is a bit complex, so let me summarize for all the newcomers. The result will be, that these great Fuji film simulations provided by fleckinthosh are saved as C1 ICC profiles, specific for your camera (X-T1, X-Pro2, X-T2) and can be used regulary in C1 under Basic Characteristics without any hassles:

    1) Download the ICC files from Dropbox-Download, either for X-T1 or X-Pro2 (look at the end of the file name for X-Pro2). I used the X-Pro2 files for my X-T2, because the X-T2 has the same sensor as the X-Pro2. So far, all works fine.

    2) Copy the downloaded files to the correct C1 directory. The directory locations are:
On a Mac system the custom ICC profile will be located in: Users/UserX/Library/Colorsync/Profiles
On a Windows system the profiles will be located in: Users/UserX/AppData/CaptureOne/Color Profiles

    3) Start C1, select a picture taken with the camera you want to save the film simulation for (i.e. X-T1, X-Pro2 or X-T2, depending on the files you downloaded)

    4) Apply the desired profile to this picture (taken with the selected camera, i.e. X-T1, X-Pro2 or X-T2), by selecting this profile from Base Characteristics/ICC Profiles/Fuji/XT-1 (the tool Base Characteristics is in the Color Tool Tab)

    5) Open the Advanced Color Editor

    6) Save settings as ICC profile giving a useful name (the correct camera name is already there). I did use a naming as "FujiXT2-C_1.Provia", where "C" stands for "color", and "FujiXT2-B_1.Acros", with "B" for Black & White. With the numbering, all appears later in a nice order

    7) Close C1, go to the Color Profiles directory and delete the temporary files (the ones downloaded)

    8) Start C1 again, go to the Color Tool Tab and Base Characteristics, then choose under ICC Profiles the option only display recommended. Then only the ICC profiles matching the camera used will be shown and the list of ICC profiles becomes much shorter and better in overview

From then on, you can select the Fuji film style from Base Characteristic/ICC Profiles and the result is already shown in the picture, when the cursor is located over the style name. Because I do that very first, I have added the tool Base Characteristics in the Lens Correction Tool Tab, then I apply lens correction and film simulation in one go.

    That's it.

    Hello!

Here is a completely reworked, refined Set of ICC Profiles for Capture One, made for X-T1. It matches the In-Camera Filmsimulations much better than the original Set, which I posted last October here.

Another Set, made for X-Pro2, Incl. ACROS ICC Profiles, is also included in this post. I renamed them to have an alternative Option for my X-T1. These ICC are slightly different, Blacks & Shadows & Colors are more decent.

    Enjoy!

It is better to place profiles into ~/Library/ColorSync/Profiles/ folder (you can add subfolder here for clarity – I use Cameras subfolder for example). If you copy them into Capture One application folder as suggested, they will be removed during application update probably.

If you don't know, what is the proper filename for your camera, you can find its generic profile in mentioned folder Capture One/Contents/Frameworks/AppCore.framework/Resources/Profiles/Input. For Fuji X, these prefixes are used:

    FujiX100- FujiX100s- FujiX100T- FujiXA1- FujiXA2- FujiXE1- FujiXE2- FujiXF1- FujiXM1- FujiXPro1- FujiXQ1- FujiXT1- FujiXT10- So for example, if you want to make Provia profile visible for X100S in Capture One, rename FujiXT1-Provia sRGB.icc file to FujiX100s-Provia sRGB.icc.

    Best regards
