  1. I agree with Larry´s review, great read, some parts are written in words I could never have found , thanks for that ! Some thoughts I would add to comment half a year of my camera love affair (honeymoon´s not over yet, but) -That thumb wheel- Why can´t I use it to navigate the menu (or set ISO, focus point, whatever)? It´s almost useless !? - Why aren´t the OVF framelines more exact (knowing the lens, distance etc, the camera should be able to make a better guess ?) - BACK/DISP button and VIEW MODE : it took ages to find my way through the combinations and sometimes I´m still stumbling - I´d love to be able to erase RAW or JPEG files of the same image, now I´m forced to erase them both or keep them both - The red dot on the lenses should be little knobs- it makes changing lenses easier- I marked them with thicker tape - What´s the use of the BASIC indication in Q- Menu ? No explanation I found makes ma happy. Just kick it out and show me the C-setting that´s loaded - I can´t stand looking at the blank sensor when changing lenses ! Why is there no way to just cover it in these situations ? Just a lid, come on ! I thought Fuji were so clever You see, these points are only tidbits and minor nags- even more infuriating sometimes when everything else is so great. These small things make me realize something about an XP2: The biggest danger is too much change !!!
  2. Thanks ! I guess my XP1 is within tolerances and I will just give myself more time to settle in with the OVF... It makes me think: Maybe I am better off with an EVF camera, but I like the XP1s looks so much more
  3. Hallo Fujists, Thanks for taking your time, more opinions welcome ! @adzman808: it´s 2)- I composed by the corrected frame (at about 6-7m distance the frameline shift isn´t too much anyway) I´m well aware that the EVF is more precise in framing but: Still I´m wondering if my specific XP1 is actually off too much or if that offset is what everybody else would get with their XP1s what do you think ?
  4. I just made the leap from XF18 to the XF18-55 and I´m not looking back. For my pics, OIS is more important than F2 (I own a XF35) and for architecture the uniformity of the sharpness across the frame is visibly better with the zoom even at F5.6. Made some grat snaps with the XF18, street and people pics rarely carry the focus plane all the way into the corners...
  5. Hi everybody, First thread ! After using and loving my X-PRO1 for half a year I came to dive in the functions I use rarely only. Surprisingly enough, I use the EVF/LCD practically 100% of the time ! Time and again I encountered users passionately defending their need for the optical viewfinder OVF of course expecting Fuji to carry it over to an X-PRO2. I found that a bit strange because I just find that OVF to be totally unprecise. But maybe it´s just my specimen so I give you something to compare with your experience... See the attached pic. That picture is totally random and awful to look at so you can concentrate on the facts: I had aligned the post and the edge of the road with the bottom and right framelines of the OVF- look what I got ! Meanwhile, the top and left edges of the picture are as close as I expected from experience with my Leica M6 from the early 2000s- totally useable. Is this what I can expect from any X-PRO1/XF35 combo or is this too much ? I cannot find a technical reason why the LCD framelines on this camera shouldn´t be much more exact than with a Leica M- the electronics have all the data (distance, focal lenght, camera orientation etc) to do a better job than the mechanical rangefinder, right ? This thing doesn´t spoil my X-PRO1 experience at all- that´s the camera I settled right in with (size, IQ, lenses, "feel"), but I´m close to having it serviced just to find out about that OVF... What do you say ?
  6. Pointing an LED torch through any lens will probably always ruin your day. As long as I don´t see particles with my eyes, I wouldn´t bother hunting for them, especially when pictures aren´t technically flawed. And then there´s always clean/check. They´ll make you happy again- and you´ll pay for it.
  7. I could have stuck to the 35-only idea- worked quite well. But then it all happened and here I am: XF18 (15%) / XF35 (75%) / XF 56 (10%)
  8. There were a lot of good ideas in this thread, I could subscribe to most of them- under the premise that the upcoming model keeps the key ideas and the character of the X-Pro1... As I´m mostly happy with the existing camera, I´d focus on the few quirks Fuji ought to sort out: I´d be a bit disappointed if the X-Pro2 - has no permanent live update on the parallax corrections and focus point in OVF - still has nothing to do for the perfectly placed thumb wheel (Menu-ISO-Focus point !) - has still only full stop clicks on the shutter speed dial (it´s big enough- come on) And... In fact, the rest will come naturally and as a bonus. Of course AF and sensor IQ and the menus and WiFi will be there, but honestly that will not have such a huge impact for me as I like the X-Pro1 so much now.
  9. I just love the XPRO1 for how it is now- otherwise I wouldn't have bought it. And now that Fuji stops tinkering with it- it´s ready to become a classic. iMaybe in the future people will complain that they don´t get the same color and tone from their XT4/5/6 as they did with the XPRO1- they´ll demand a backretrograde ! German "ColorFoto" says they found he colors on the XPRO1 to be somewhat "softer" on skintones as on the XT-1...Here we go.
  10. That comes quite close to my idea ! The 35/F2 WR looks promising (I´ll end up having two 35s as I alraedy own the XF35/1,4- a Leica way of getting happier) and if I could wish for somethingit would be - a XF70mmF2 (in a nice and clean shape with super IQ) along the lines of my Nikkor 2,5/105 AI that I still traesure Come on, make it happen !
  11. The x-t10 pdf brochure is downloadable in the Fuji X brochure library. Feast your eyes on the lens overview image
