flysurfer reacted to Max Karpoukhin in X-T2 FEATURE REQUEST - Choose all or only phase focus points in wide/tracking mode
A lot of us are coming to Fuji from nikons where we had fantastic 3D tracking AF-C mode and got used to it. Closest similar to this is Wide/Tracking on Fuji, but by default and in S and CL drive modes it uses all autofocus points including contrast detecting which makes it, well, rather slow and focus hunting. But in CH drive mode it's just ideal - it uses only phase AF points in the centre and works like magic, only drawback being that in CH camera makes minimum of two shots with every press of shutter button, regardless of how quickly you press it. So please, Fuji, PLEASE just make this (selection of only phase detection focus points in wide/tracking) selectable by user in other drive modes. Also, it would be nice if camera would remember which af mode I used in AF-S or AF-C last time. For example, I use single point in AF-S and zone AF in AF-C (though I'd rather use wide/tracking but I have to switch it every time I switch to AF-C or AF-S. Thanks and I really hope you Fuji guys will see this post.
PS. Thanks for the fantastic cameras, I sold my Nikon D4 to get XT2 and have zero regrets.

Of course not. It's covered in my X-Pro2 book (all editions), it was discussed in several forums, and it's in Fujifilm's official FAQs.

Of course. I have just explained the nature of the problem. DR-AUTO.

Adobe may or may not fix it. If I had to bet, my money was on "not fix it". But hey, miracles do happen. Sometimes. Rarely.

Then again, DR-AUTO is not recommended, anyway. So maybe the whole thing has some hidden educational purpose? Who knows...

Agreed, and I like to strap a camera to my back and go for a ride on my bike, so my straps need to be easily adjustable so I can pull them tight.

I have no idea what that endorsement is? Care to elaborate?

Before the Peak Design stuff, I used Blackrapid and DSPTCH straps, but they got replaced by the Peak Design stuff and I haven't looked back since. It's hard to find stuff that's utilitarian that doesn't feel cheap. And the fancy leather hipster straps look great, but are usually not as practical for my needs.

Especially since the X100T does it right.

Since the X-T1 doesn't even have center-weighted metering, that's unlikely.

I normally don't even bring external chargers along, as I can and do charge 3 batteries at the same time in-camera with a USB cable and the provided charger for the grip.

Of course, I also have one or two dozen of spare batteries available. Might come in handy for long assignments w/o access to external power, but even at the Le Mans event in July, none of the 200 VIP participants trying the X-T2 for a full day ran out of juice with their kit. That said, shooting action for an extended day can certainly require more than the 3 batteries, so bring a few spares.

People should indeed write Adobe and press them to interpret the maker notes metadata for the image rating.

It has been just few days since I left Rio and I had a day to recharge my batteries (my own one and also all of my Fuji ones) and now I'm shooting Summer Biathlon World Championships in southern Estonia. Fujifilm Estonia is again helping me and gave me one X-T2 with battery booster for the event (first camera here in Estonia) and let me keep X-Pro2 also which I had with me at the Olympics. So now I can compare them side-by-side and show you pictures from both cameras. When I have time, I will post my first remarks. After first day at least I can say that X-T2 suits my style much better. Bigger EVF, battery booster (which really boosts the camera) and faster AF are the first things to mark down, where X-T2 is kicking X-Pro2s butt

Fuji X Secrets Ultimate in Phuket (Thailand) from Nov. 12 – Nov. 19, 2016

Fuji X Secrets Ultimate is a unique workshop experience for Fujifilm X-series enthusiasts from all around the world.

This workshop will be conducted by Fuji „X-Pert“ Rico Pfirstinger in English and takes place from Nov. 12 - Nov. 19. A second workshop from Nov. 19 - Nov. 26 will be available in German. We have rented one of Phuket's nicest villas exclusively for our small group of delegates and their respective guests – a beautiful place where we, a fellowship of like-minded X enthusiasts, will have ample space for photo shoots, training lessons and informal discussions. It’s a place where we can not only learn from each other, but also relax, enjoy great food, refresh in the infinity pool, sip a cocktail at the bar or simply have a great time.

In addition to daily seminar segments, we will also offer daily photo excursions in and around Phuket in cars and drivers that belong to our villa. Also, each delegate can share his or her room with one guest, such as a friend, family member or loved one. So there’s no need to leave your partner behind.

Fuji X Secrets Ultimate is an unforgettable "X-perience" for everybody who wants to live and breathe the spirit of the Fujifilm X-series together with a small group of like-minded fellows in a unique environment. This comprehensive workshop will be truly special, and it will certainly tell you Everything You Always Wanted to Know About X, But Were Afraid to Ask.

flysurfer got a reaction from Puma Cat in A lot of complaining going on here...
Serious issues are quite rare. I'm entertaining Fuji workshops that are pretty intense (they go over 2 days), so there's plenty of time to talk about any serious issues delegates may have with their cameras or lenses or workflow. While there is plenty to learn, there aren't many things that are seriously broken. If there were, my delegates would surely mention them.

Forums are cesspools of discontent. Instead, just go to a real-life meeting with actual Fuji users (I'm hosting one this Sunday here in Schwabach, as folks asked me to see and try the X-T2), and you'll feel a very different and constructive vibe.
