    duncansebastian got a reaction from adzman808 in X-Pro3
    Hello Fuji fans and also, X-Pro series lovers,

    I am really interested in the future X-Pro3, as I had the X-Pro1 and now I happily use the X-Pro2. We all have specific reasons to love the X-Pro series and I think the X-Pro3 would be an interesting topic to discuss, too.

    Looking at the launching dates of X-Pro1 and X-Pro2, compared to the dates when X-T1 and X-T2 were launched, I hoped I could see a pattern in Fujifilm's calendar;  where X-Pro series presents us technical improvements that will follow on the X-T series. But with the rumoured X-T3 launching date for September 2018 and no consistent info on the upcoming X-Pro3, this pattern isn't valid any longer. We'll have, this time, the X-T3 before the X-Pro3, that we almost know nothing about. It seems the market trends and the competition can dictate changes in the calendar pattern I was talking about.

    I invite you to share your impressions on the X-Pro3; what would you like to see on this future model, when do you think it will be announced?

    So far, I could only speculate that X-Pro3 will get the improvements that are rumoured to be implemented within X-T3:

    1. New X PRO Processor. A new, faster, one, or we could speculate the presence of 2 X Pro Processors, to cope with the new performance requirements;
    2. New software, with improved AF and better noise reduction - what we see inside the X-H1;
    3. New X-Trans sensor, as rumoured, with a resolution over 24 MP, but less than 30 MP. A 28 MP resolution could make sense, in order to get resolution improvements, but still not sacrificing low-light performance and not putting too much strain on the processor(s);
    4. Some new aspects, like ETERNA, (plus the improved AF and noise reduction I was mentioning above) and maybe video improvements (that I don't find particularly necessary, especially when we have X-H1 for that and even the improved X-T2);
    5. A better build body with more scratch resistant cover, better weather sealing and with a more resistant magnesium alloy chassis, as the X-H1 is over the X-T2; with 25% improved resistance.

    What I also would like to see is:

    A. A better battery, or battery life - as this is also a very important aspect and with increased performance, may also come an increased energy consumption.
    B. A larger viewfinder - at least at the eye exit level, with a better refresh rate for the electronic viewfinder.
    C. Some button reconfiguration - if necessary, or an extra Fn button, for better accessibility.

    I don't have a long list of requests, as I am happy with my X-Pro2, but I think I have covered important aspects that we could (and we would like to) see in the upcoming X-Pro3.

    I invite you to share with us your ideas and comments.

    May the Light be with you! Best regards,

    Sebastian

    Hi all

    I have the 16mm1.4 and although I love the lens it's just the wrong length for me.
    I need something wider and also something else with a longer focal length.
    I've been offered a swap for a 10-20 f4 which would do the job in one or I could get something like a Samyang 10mm and a 23/35 Fuji.
    Carrying two lenses isn't a issue but quality is important.
    What way should I do this or do you have any ideas please?

    I don't know if someone had post over this thing or not in the pass. I tried to browse through the threads but couldn't find one.

    Is it me or is the autofocus on X-Pro2 noticeably slower while in OVF compared to EVF mode? Is there any way around this so that the autofocus performance is level while using OVF? Cause, EVF tends to drain battery faster.

    I'm using both Leica and voigtlander m-mount lenses on my XP2 with a fotodiox adaptor and loving the combination.

    For the Contax G lenses I'm using the Fotodiox Standard CG-FX adaptor and for the Leica M lenses
    I'm using the Fotodiox Pro LM-FX.

    FWIW I've also bought 2 K&F Concept adaptors, M42-FX  & Leica R-FX. They're about a 1/4 of the price

    and just as well made as the Fotodiox.

    I wish Fujifilm would make an EVF only version of the x-pro2 with OLED instead of TFT and with higher magnification. I know alot of people find the OVF awesome, but I didn't choose my x-pro2 because of it, I chose it because of the x-pro2's form factor. I know the x-e2 comes close, but it is still to far away when it comes to build quality, shutter quality/speed/sound, joystick and display resolution. To me an x-pro2 with an EVF as close to the x-t2's EVF as possible would be a dream camera to me.

    They will still be more compact and lighter than a mid-end DSLR and you cannot expect a FLAGSHIP camera to be something like the X-E3.

    Well, it´s just right for me, the ergonomics being in first place because of my use of large and heavy lenses, and to have a stabilized 16-55 for very dark indoors (where tripods and flashes are forbidden) will be a great thing, so I already preordered. Czech users who already tested the X-H1 extensively say that the battery life is very similar to the X-T2, also with use of the IBIS. Also the viewfinder looks very similar. It´s definitely a great step forwards to a really complete digital camera ecosystem, I only hope that the X-T line stays by it´s smaller form factor and the X-T3 doesn´t get this large grip, a more compact but powerful flagship is needed too.

    High time that Fujifilm came with a IBIS camera.

    IBIS is a strong seller just like the words "weather sealing". Fujifilm needed this camera like bread! And good that they made it so beefy and big. There are already lots of small cameras in the line-up

    I had the X-Pro1, but I had to sell it. My budget was really small, I had no choice. But X-Pro1 is a camera you should never sell. Never! If you could get the money for another X Camera (I couldn't) it's better to keep the X-Pro1. It's a classic and will always be. Best design, fantastic size/shape/weight and finishing. I wish my X-T1 would have the same length and general size ratio, for better grip and handling.

    Went for a lunch walk, practiced with the 35mm 1.4 and 14mm 2.8

    AF-C Wide Tracking is really amazing for tracking trams, cars, horses, etc. Spot on every frame with minimal effort.

    The 3x3 zone AF-S focuses very quickly with the 35mm lens. This will probably be my default AF mode from now on.

    My thoughts exactly.  I was considering selling this lens because of the rocking back and forth.  It's back to being one of my fav's

    Here are my results so far.  I only have 3 Fuji X lenses currently.

    35/1.4  the most dramatic change.   Lens just gets to focus without rocking back and forth.   Amazing for this lens.  All of the sudden it is like a different lens!!!
    18-135.  I tried to lower the light in my bedroom and focus at tele end.  It is usually a slow lens to focus in low light.  Result - much quicker acquisition.
    56/1.2    seems to be no changes whatsoever with how that lens focused with previous firmware.

    2) X-PRO2

    Hi Fuji-X buddies,

    When I got my X-E2, the charger came with a monstrous power cable that was way too long and way too annoying to travel with. Enter this cool adapter from Amazon: amzn.com/B004OGXY72

    It's shown in action below. Now I can carry something really useful instead of the power cord. Tequila, for example.

    Best to all,

    Great black & white shot!

    Here is an example of the CA creating PORST Tele MC Auto D 135mm f/2.8 M42. It's a cheap lens but it creates many CAs. Just look around the fur of the cat. This shot isn't SOOC but I just did some colour and contrast edits. No CA corrections. I think it was shot wide open at f/2.8.
