As a photojournalist during the film era as well, to get 360 shots required a brick of 10 rolls of 36 exposures or a brick and a half of 24 exposure rolls. At the end of the roll, one stopped shooting, rewound the film back into the cassette, assuming 35mm, opened the back and removed it, then opened the box with the next roll, removed it from its canister, threaded it to the take-up spool, closed the back and advanced to the first frame, watching to make sure the rewind knob turned indicating that the film was properly moving through the camera.

Now it takes about 20 seconds to switch to a fresh battery and that only happens about once in 360 shot. Compared to 10 or 15 very bulky rolls of film, it is tiny. Covering sports, if there was a pause one took advantage of it to swap in a fresh roll even if the previous one was not finished. Covering NASCAR I often turned in many short rolls in order to have the maximum exposures available for the big wreck.

What did you want it to do? The exposure compensation dial is not supposed to override aperture and shutter speed if you're on manual. However, if you set the ISO to Auto, the Exposure compensation dial will adjust the ISO for you. But you need to update your camera to firmware v4.

The 18-55 is about twice the size of the near-pancake 18mm. I'm not altogether convinced you need OIS on a wide-angle lens.

Hi All. I've attached a sort of guide/user manual for the Fuji X-T10. It started out as just a bunch info & tips from around the web that I collected. I started it because I'm an old fart who recently switched from manual film Nikon's to the Fuji (because of the manual controls). A friend also just made the switch so I starting organizing the info and making it look prettier for him. I'm posting it here so feel free to do whatever you want with it, including throwing it in the trash if it's a waste of time.

I'd be happy with whatever firmware update they are going to add to the X-E2 in January with the same tilt screen my X-T1/X-A1 have.
I'd sell my X-A1, my X-E1 and buy TWO X-E3s on the spot. (I'd keep the X-T1 because it is fantastic.)

Probably holds this 'Vintage' camera like an actual 'Vintage' camera...a Hasselblad, Rolleiflex or Mamiya with a waist level finder.

You've basically 'theft-proofed' this X-70. No one will look at that and think "VALUABLE".

I'd keep the built-in flash. It's good for fill flash for backlit subjects. Otherwise, Fuji low light capacity is usually sufficient.

Oh please god no, don't let Fuji go down that road. Sideways flipping screens are the source of evil.

First of all, I bought the X-E2 because I liked the "rangefinder-like" feel and the "film-like" sensor. It also fits perfectly in my hand and suits my shooting style. As I used the camera and became familiar with it, it exceeded all of my expectations! Your suggestions of the XT-1 viewfinder, the floppy-tilty screen, and more phase-detector focussing detectors (like the Sony A-6000) would make me actually consider an upgrade. How about adding in-camera 5-axis shake reduction like the Sony and Olympus cameras.

Personally, I would rather have a 16 mp sensor with wider dynamic range, lower noise, and higher ISO than a 24 mp sensor with greater detail and the same specs as the X-E2. I was actually considering upgrading my Canon 7D body to handle action photos. Guess I'll put that on the back burner. There are some spectacular X-T1 action shots in other topics.

Some of the firmware enhancements I would like:

    - Separate selectable focus points for horizontal and vertical orientation.
    - Flash exposure compensation on the quick menu.
    - Combine facial focussing on the same menu item as the other focussing modes.
    - Optionally create separate file folders based on the date taken.
    - Increase the bracketing range to +/- 3 stops for HDR photography.
    - Electronic high-speed shutter.

I would prefer the standard tilt screen version! So it's a bit like an old waist-level finder (thus more "stealthy"). If it would be fully-articulating the camera size gets much more wider (at least 3") when using the screen like a waist-level finder. I think the screen from the X-A2 (but 180° down instead of up) would be a nice compromise. Or something crazy like on the Olympus PEN E-PL7: http://www.thephoblographer.com/2014/10/16/review-olympus-pen-e-pl7/

Hello, my first post to this forum. I'm no way professional, just a hobbyist

I've followed a similar path: switched from Nikon FX to Fuji when XT-1 was released. I mainly shoot events now, weddings and other parties. Just coping with one body for now, but could really use a second one (XE2, XT-10 or maybe some new release..). I shoot guest mainly with 23mm, speakers with 56mm. Usually 18-135mm is too dark for me, despite the excellent OS. When I bought the system I thought it would be the main lens for me (used to use 70-200mm f4 with Nikon), but f1.4 is nicer for me and finally I can nail the focus (never could with FX gear). For now I'm happy with the 23mm and 52mm, thought about switching to 50-140mm, but cropped f1.2 gets me good results. For the reach I've thought about adapted 180mm AI-S f2.8 from Nikon, but for now I've managed to sneak in closer.

The Fuji system is pretty much useless in dark when shooting moving targets (i.e. guest walking in / hand shaking), have to pre-focus for that. Dancing shots are more difficult, but can be managed. However in church I've managed to get good focus when bride walks in, better than D700 and 50mm f1.4. Usually use the 23mm for that because of the faster focus.

Overall I'm happy with the system. Colors are amazing and focusing on still targets with large aperture is easier.

For me it would be enough to put the specs of the X-T10 into a X-E3! Tilt screen is my most wanted.

Fuji can't maintain new firmware updates for all models forever, the cost of testing and quality control is huge compared to the cost of developing the piece of code that embodies the Classic Chrome feature. The X-Pro 1 was good when it first came out and now it's so much better.
A camera doesn't suddenly go bad because it lacks the latest bells & whistles.. it's all in the mind
Unless you just want JPG Classic Chrome straight out of the camera you can use the free Adobe DNG Profile Editor together with a color card to create a Classic Chrome Camera Profile to apply on the RAW files using Lightroom or Camera RAW in Photoshop.
I've made one for X-Pro 1 and X100s. The x100s one is almost spot on when I diff with the CC JPG,
but since I converted my X-Pro 1 to Infrared I haven't verified the accuracy of it.

A camera can hardly be classified as obsolete just because it doesn’t offer a Classic Chrome option.

It's obvious that Fuji cannot allocate so much resources to old cameras (3 years old) when they have already put so much effort to improve them and have so much to develop still (compact 35 and 23mm F/2, maybe an update of the 18mm, X-PRO2, X-E3 etc. etc.)

I think it's quite annoying that so much people are shouting "GIVE ME CLASSIC CHROME OR ELSE..." when they already had so much improvements, pushing the hardware to the limits of what it can do, and keeping in mind that people actually bought this cameras either not giving a damn about jpegs because they use raw, or buying them for the FUJI film simulations, not kodak. They bought them as they were, no reason to complain.

So really it's just a bad case of envy. They had too much already I think from Fuji, they just can't stop wanting MOARRRR.

And anyway if I were Fuji, why would I ever bring an old camera in line with the newest model so everybody can get it used for 200$? I wouldn't, nobody would.

People could very well enjoy their X-E1 + 50mm F/1.4 for the next 5 years if they were really interrested in photography itself, instead of thinking that not having Classic Chrome limits their creativity...
