traded all my faster equivalents for the f/2 versions. They're sharper at the same apertures and much quieter, faster and more lightweight. Losing a soft extra stop is no real loss. Made a profit too!
-
also you might consider the 35mm f/2 instead - it has water resistance so will let you got out with confidence in variable weather conditions.

That's an intriguing response, please elucidate.
lenstip are far more eloquent than me: http://www.lenstip.com/433.6-Lens_review-Fujifilm_Fujinon_XF_16-55_mm_f_2.8_R_LM_WR_Distortion.html

no rectilinear distortion? it barrel distorts quite significantly in raw. your camera is correcting it.

even simpler: ZEISS Touit 2.8/50M

2) All of the other major mirrorless players, Sony, Samsung (RIP), Lumix, Olympus, and Canon have 1:1 macro lenses in their line-up. Fuji don't.

Besides the exasperating XF60mm lens, I've been perfectly happy with every combination of Fuji kit I've had, but I don't bother with the new aids, I doubt if they'll ever be able to read my mind quicker than I can operate the manual controls. It's really just a case of sticking with one body and minimal lenses until operation of the device is second nature. New bodies really just mean quicker startup, recycling and improved sensor limits.

No. But it is definitely better, and the way, IMHO, things could have been from the start if the camera industry wasn't so resistant to change
But this is literally how every point and shoot camera has done it for years and years, it's hardly a 'change' thing.

1. There are much better options for 4k video than either camera
2. This is just a form factor thing surely? The X-Pro/X100 cameras are every inch designed to look vintage
3. First thing anyone who buys a camera that charges is to buy an external charger
All nice to haves but not showstoppers by most measures.

The camera has OIS but I'm not sure it should behave like you're describing it.

My samyang 8mm looks nothing like that 6.5mm
-
I'd just take the big zoom
-
There's certainly no need to duplicate the wider end of the 10-24
-
The XC lens is available so cheap in a white box that you might as well buy it to see if it's good enough for you, you lose next to nothing if you decide to sell it on.

I would buy the XC50-230 and hire the 100-400.
-
just put the 55-200 on f/4.8 and enjoy your constant aperture f/4.8 zoom.
-
I want an XC uwa zoom personally.

I think Adobe need some financial encouragement to support X-Trans properly. Capture One doesn't have any of these issues and also has a monthly subscription model, maybe that will help.
-
The EV dial only works when shutter speed is set to A on the X-Pro1. To control exposure with a fixed shutter speed requires setting iso manually, personally I have ISO assigned to the Fn button to do this.
But yeah, this feature was added in firmware 4.0 to the X-E2 etc.
-
why would you buy an xt-1 and seldom use it?
no sympathy
-
No clutch on the 23.
There certainly is on the f/1.4
35mm f2 vs f1.4
