Francisco Evangelista reacted to milandro in Petzval 58mm Bokeh Control( adapted to Fuji?)
Nice, didn’t know this lensbaby, the price looks also enticing.
The only problem is that it appears this lens doesn’t come with a Fuji bayonet I suppose this means I could buy one with a Nikon bayonet and an adapter?
( the picture is from the advertising material by lensbaby)

Lensbaby's alternative for the Petzval is the Twist 60. It's a 60mm f2.5

Francisco Evangelista reacted to copy paper in Is it just me or the lowish light files are too noisy?
That's pretty clearly camera shake on your X-T2 shots, not noise. Happens to the best of us.
My experience with the X-T2 has been that it is very impressive in low light compared to my Canon 6D. My friend shoots using an X-Pro1, and the low light performance on his images seems very similar.
X-T2 RAW files can be a little harder to work with than your typical camera, certainly more finnicky than my 6D was, and it is easy to unintentionally introduce noise while sharpening, which I'm guessing is some of what is happening here. I can't speak to whether the X-T2's RAW files are more or less finicky than the X-T1's RAW files are. But even using Lightroom it is a great sensor in all light.
edit: One other note-- I believe I remember reading that the X-T2/X-Pro2 exposes brighter per ISO stop than past Fuji X-System cameras. This might lead to more noise for the same settings because you're not really shooting the same exposure. Try setting your exposure knob -1 stop, or if you're shooting fully manual, aim for a stop lower than middle. This could also lead one to shoot at a slower shutter speed to compensate, which might lead to slightly blurry (not noisy) photos.

All I see in this thread are poorly shot images.

Yeah! As all our bloody hobbies are...

In my experience the X-T2 is much more than a slightly upgraded X-T1. I don't know if you've shot with one in a professional context, but I shot my last pro motorsports race entirely with an X-T2 last month, something I could not have done with my X-T1. Whether that meets your requirements for the significance of an upgrade, that's up to you to determine, horses for courses, as they say. All I can say is my pro Canon gear is going up for sale...

Based on your subject preferences:
10-24mm
23/1.4
90mm - some might think this is an odd choice for landscape and street, but I don't!

HI Guys.
I tested the XF35mm f/2 R WR for the last month or so. Check out my thoughts on this very cool lens below!

Take care.

I don't think I wrote about the close focussing of the XF 35mm f/1.4 in my review. I only stated that the near limit of the f/2 was at 35cm

Francisco Evangelista reacted to ShutterNot in Fuji X-Pro2 Firmware update coming soon! (New Source) – BUG FIX
Little late here to your testing party.
Cameras are getting more complex. Fuji installed a whole new menu system. If for example just the menu system had 4 selections, you would have to test 24 combinations (factorial of 4).
Now lets just up that to 10 selections possible on the menu system. Now you have 3,628,800 combinations to test (factorial of 10).
Now we all know there are more than 10 options in the menu and we all know the camera has a lot more things besides the menu to test various combinations involving hardware and software. It's a complex animal.
I say we should appreciate the work FUJI does and appreciate what's involved in testing every possibility.

Francisco Evangelista reacted to PeterG in Problem with my X Pro2.
The setting reset occurred to me last night for the first time. I was trying to transfer images to the iPad using the Fuji Cam Remote App
but the App crashed during transfer and then the settings was factory default in the camera.
This may be a safeguard to ensure that the camera starts after a serious software crash?
Anyway, a wonderful piece of equipment the flaws just give it character.
